The beauty of Real Madrid is that they are not a team that is reliant on one system, and Carlo Ancelotti can fully expect his players to find solutions on their own. This has created a beautiful effect, that the team can look completely different in structure and style depending on who’s playing, but their always able to find the answer. And With the sale of Karim Benzema to the Saudi Pro League, Ancelotti very quickly and effortlessly adapted his system for the players. And this season, it’s all built around their new crown jewel, Jude Bellingham. The 20 year old English midfielder has taken La Liga by storm, and is very quickly becoming the key player in this new look real madrid team. But what has Ancelotti changed to accommodate their new superstar, and how has Bellingham transformed Real Madrid?

I definitely agree with the bits about Jude's profile; tactical, and positional versatility.
I disagree that Real's rebuild of the MF is complete.
Having the slew of young CMFs (Fede, Camavinga, Tchouameni Jude) gain experience alongside Modric and Kroos is important. However, none of those young CMFs are the same profile, like Modric or Kross.
The real challenge would be to see how Real's MF functions when Kross and Modric leave.

The shifting of the dynamic from experience to energy is already happening, step by step. But Modric and Kroos shouldn't start together anymore, reports suggests Perez is against that as well.

Florentino Perez is not fond of starting Kroos and Modric together as well. When Fran Garcia pushes up and if we are caught on the counter, and if it's Kroos at that natural LB position you know who's losing that battle. Camavinga on the left and Valverde on the right should work fine.
There are games where either Modric or Kroos absolutely has to play according to the situation. They're still so good and dependable. Look at Kroos vs Getafe, changed the game after coming on. Also Modric vs Union Berlin was one of his best performances in recent years.

Carlo is known for his love of the #10. Be it through Isco, James, Kaka, Bellingham, he has nic for a central offensive player. This doesnt take away from the fact that we still need a striker for games that are too difficult for a 4-4-2 and forced to switch into a 4-3-3. Good examples are teams with 5 defensive players or teams that play a laid back defensive play. You need an extra man in the box for when pace and running behind a defense proves difficult. Thats where Joselu comes in, but it doesnt take the fact away that we need another ST, the 4-3-3 is looking more effective the more Joselu is becoming acclimatized with the team. If he gets consistent, a 4-3-3 attacking play is a more feasible and adaptive lineup. But what do I know

This is exactly how Zidane's Madrid used to play in later part of UCL 3Peat. Where Casemiro used to drop centrally acting like 3CB and Marcelo Carvahal bomb forward.
For playing 4-4-2 diamond you need extremely technical players with high footballing IQ but it will not work in Premier League where alot of teams are good on the ball and play good football with or without possession.

Ancelotti’s AC Milan is his greatest work ever.
Bellingham will never match kaka in terms of pure efficiency and output.
How Kaka runs the length of pitch at full burst 90 minutes for 6 seasons in his prime while taking on astute and deep seated Italian defenders is nothing but a physical specimen.
Bellingham doesn’t have that speed and power and even size or lung power.
Hence Kaka’s prowess and directness matching his pretty good vision to boot makes him really the ultimate player for Ancelotti ever.
In 2007, at his prime, Kaka made Ronaldo look like a tier lower in standard.
Kaka’s ability is centred very much on his fitness and youth and that is why he fizzled earlier

the only weakness is the width. Chelsea under Tuchel were the same. As soon as there were injuries to James and Chilwell the system stopped working. i have no idea who the back ups are for Carvahal and the LB: presumably Camavinga could be a 2nd choice LB, but without top quality out wide, it stops working. It shows though that packing the central areas of the pitch as Arsenal and Man City do is currently the favoured way of playing. Bellingham is just an incredible talent. Best English midfielder since Gerrard.

Different position and different playing role while also different personality.
Ancelotti is turning and changing Bellingham into the Italian style Trequartista. For someone who have watch Italian football since 90's will know it.
The way how Bellingham play and operates reminded me of Juventus - Zidane, Roma - Totti, Milan - Kaka, Lazio - Signori, and Real Madrid - Guti.

Carlo Ancelotti earned his coaching skills during the golden age of Serie A, when Eriksson, Capello, Lippi and Trapattoni were at the helm of some of the best teams in the world back then. This 4-3-1-2 formation is similar to the one Lippi used (he usually used the 3-4-1-2, the 4-3-1-2 and the 4-4-2) when a certain nº10 named Zidane joined Juventus. And have we forgotten the "eye" on Ancelotti? the guy who saw Pirlo as a "regista" instead of a "trequartista", now saw Bellingam as a trequartista, instead of a "mezzala"... Nothing new from "Carletto", he's just smart like that!

can someone explain why it is that all of a sudden the number 10 who doesn't track back to defend is seen as a positive all of a sudden? Just a few years ago the same people were saying this role was no longer possible and how it left the team at a tactical disadvantage when it comes to defending off the ball. James' first season at Madrid was some of the most beautiful football i have ever seen this team play and everyone was full of praise until Madrid finished second in every competition that year. Curious to see what would happen if Madrid don't win anything with Bellingham this time around.

I wonder what happens when Real Madrid come up against a team that uses a man marking system on the midfield. Because teams very rarely do that and Real’s most impactful plays come from the space left for the midfield as well as the extra space created with the movement.
