- In this video, Sedge walks us through using the Japanese Stone with the Tormek system. Just so happens, Big D needed some new chisels honed and prepped for use.

WOW...Thanks🙏 !!!!!
Great video
Thanks
Mine are on their way!
AWESOME
5:06 The both black adjustment tools should rest on the stone them up on the tool!
ok
+1 was about to say the same.
It looks like it would have been close anyhow. But if you want a perfect angle it needs 2 points on the stone and flat on the tool
Your videos are an excellent supplement to the "official" Tormek sharpening tutorials, and often much better. I am a new user, having recently purchased a T8 and have been practicing functionality and technique. Question; sometimes after I have sharpened a knife, I have noticed under a bright light that the bevel on one side appears to be larger ie. higher up the blade body than the other side. Yet, the blade angle to the stone remained the same for both sides. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, your videos have really helped my sharpening abilities. And, a hello to you too BIG D!
I have had this happen and cured it by maintaing a steady line and lifting in line not trying to follow the curve of the blade...be patient it took me a few knives to get this technique down...
That might be an aligning issue, can be tackled by reclamping after sharpening first side.
I have a super grind 2000 with an SG250, how much of a difference do you find the SJ-250 makes compared to the 1000 grit of the SG-250?
Thanks for the awsome video by the way 🙂
I use the SJ-250 when I just need to do a quick hone...I still use the SG-250 quite a bit
@@sedgetool Can you notice the difference in the results when using the tool?
Been sharpening with my T8 for about a year now. Switched ova to CBN wheels about 6 months ago, they ah wicked good! What paht of Bawston you located in?
I am actually from Maine...Have been away for 39 years...Make Indiana my home nowadays......
@@sedgetool They must love your accent there. Cheers
I'm on the way with a few chisels, don't put that stone up yet!
Ok … waiting 🤣🤣🤣

Ptreesworkshop …. ETSY store
@@sedgetoolwhy use the chisel jigs from etsy. Your angle tool that came with tormek has those built in all along the edge
Are you guys from Bahston? Wicked good tutorial.

Could you tell us about csc sys 50 ebi
What the hell is that !!!!!
@@sedgetool it’s a small festool table saw with a little sliding table
@@sedgetool thank you for answering me i love your Chanel and festool live it’s very informative sorry for asking when you were on the tormek but I didn’t know how to ask about that Tool
I can't even afford a tormek and I like these videos
wicked
I could not either however have a look second hand for a tormek supergrind 2000. I bought one for £180 second hand and you can install nearly all new parts on it.
Make sure you check for the stone quality and few other bits before buying
been using for over a month and think the Tormek is worth the investment. I have sharpened so much it from knifes, plane blades, chisels and motor blade. The quality makes me think its a buy once tool which is why its so expensive. Have you looked at the smaller unit as well?
Too dear
@@d.k.1394 You can get them as low as gratis/free at garage sales. Even at 200 it's worth it, if you can't spend even that then it's not something you truly NEED.
Very clueless grinding against rotation on the Japanese stone. It's a relatively soft stone which makes it much more likely to grip any edge or bevel..
ok
If anyone has a free one....I would love ❤️ it
cool
Thanks for your time in helping me to use my TORMEC. Alf. 🪓🪓✂✂ 😄😄Alf.
Happy to help Alf !!!
