Since Ash Ketchum is being retired from the Pokemon anime, I thought it would be a fun tribute to review every Pokemon he has owned from the past 25 years and name a fact for every single one of them! I also included some fun bonus facts and honorable mentions, I hope you all enjoy!

I think if Ash does catch one more Pokemon it should be a Dunspare that he Evolves in the same episode because he has attempted to catch one on several different occasions.
Edit: If this did happen I'd hope it would turn into 3 segment.

I gotta say, I love the fact that Journeys expanded on previously established lore, like Greninja's bond with Ash being Aura-based, or having Infernape set out on its own to fight Moltres, or, of course, having Pikachu's origin story.
One of the few things Journeys did well 😂

@@anthonyortiz350 Because in general Journeys is a very average show. It has its moments, but for 90% of its run it was very mediocre. Which is why I hate that this is the season that'll end Ash's run as the series protagonist.
Could've gone out with a bang in an amazing season, but it'll be more of a whimper.

I always kinda wished Staraptor kept it's more comedic side from Staravia. After it evolved it kind of just blended into the archetype of "Ash's battle hardy bird".
Fun fact about Krokodile:
Just like how Tepig is a parallel to Charmander and it's backstory, Krokodile was meant to be the parallel to Squirtle. This since gen 5 was a soft reboot inspired in gen 1. That's why they both use sunglasses.
The same goes to Snivy being a parallel to Bulbasaur. Since both of them were pokemon that previously had a trainer but decided to travel with Ash if he was able to defeat them in battle and that acted as the serious ones of the starter trio.
And then he has Unfezent vs Pidgeot, Leavanny vs Butterfree, Scraggy vs Mankey, I'd say Roggenrola would be like Krabby, ends up winning during a match by evolving in battle etc

Another interesting fact about Butterfree: He, along with his mate, hold the record for the longest span between episode appearances, that being 1,200 episodes between Bye Bye Butterfree and episode of 136 of Journeys.

#42- Another fact about Krookodile is that he is the recurring Pokémon with the longest amount of episodes following Ash until he was finally caught by him. In total he followed Ash for 72 episodes starting in “A Sandile Gusher of Change” and ending in “Battling the Bully” when Ash caught Krookodile.

And it was also responsible for Earthquake, Bulldoze, and any similar moves never appearing in the anime from that point on. Iirc, it took place between the Mossdeep Gym Battle and the Drake episode, and it would’ve been where Ash learned that the final gym was in Sootopolis City.
I'm still amazed how Ash's torkoal is able to cry so much at times... I'd think at some point it would've been able to pull out a water gun attack 😂

The size part applied to Noctowl aswell, it was basically a runt, but in the Sun and Moon flashbacks, it was the size of a normal Noctowl towering over most of the other birds Ash had owned. It used to be slightly bigger than Pikachu originally.

and i have the 1998 i choose you staff animal pikachu that i am raising as A baby and son and pet and my starter popplio is A baby because she is A girl and i choose not to evolve her because it took twenty or thirty time to reset to get A girl starter popplio so i decided that i would be uncomfortable with evolveing A pokemon for once and i have no problem with getting egg from A unevolved starter pokemon for completeing the pokedex and i wish that i could baby some pokemon like my pikachu

Another fun fact for Aipom: It is a Gen 2 Pokémon, but was caught by Ash during Pokémon: Battle Frontier, which was Gen 3. So, up until Pokémon Journey's, it was Ash's only Pokémon that was caught after the generation in which it debuted.
Another Fun Fact for Snorlax: Ash caught it during the Orange Islands Arc, which is arguably a filler arc. So, one of Ash's strongest Pokémon ironically came from a season that only existed to buy time for the next Gen to be released.
Aipom isn't the only one. There's also gligar
and the school of hard knocks and aj gym were filler as well if A place does not exist on the pokemon anime and video game then that mean the episode is pretty much filler i read that some where
@@chrisclack4258if an anime doesn’t have a manga to follow, or if it’s a loosely based adaptation of a video game, I don’t think it can have filler episodes.
Oh, and about Gible's Draco Meteor, Togekiss shielding Piplup from it foreshadows the type it would gain later.
But that was too much early to think about at that time. And togekiss wouldn't have felt that Draco meteor since it was mostly used in competitive for special defence and and gible family is known for being physical attackers
I think his last should be a Ho-Oh to make a nod back to when his journey began.

I think the anime finally decided to just fix Gengar's colouration in Joureny's.
Sorta like how Gligar's been purple in gen 4 but got fixed to be pink in the gen 2 remake and up.

There’s actually a handful of Pokémon you left out, but they’re all from alternate universes, so it’s fine:
- Ekans and Sentret from “The Power of Us”. They were both temporary captures for the Pokémon Catch Race happening in that movie.
- Fearow (the evolved form of the Spearow from the first episode), Oddish and Slowpoke from “The Electric Tale of Pikachu” manga. Which also features Ash’s Primeape as a Mankey under his ownership, which wasn’t seen in the main anime.
- Starmie and Clefairy in the “Pokémon Newspaper Strip” you mentioned for Butterfree’s fact. Starmie actually belonged to Misty but hadn’t been caught since Ash caught it in a Poké Ball of his own.

Here’s a fun fact: Ash technically owned a Bellsprout. In the Johto series, a kid took Ash’s pokeball and threw it at a Bellsprout. Ash just let him keep it, which is a shame cause Ash using a Vileplume would’ve been cool.

In ash vs hau in the Alolan league It trolled an entire stadium by making them thinking that it fainted and ash almost got disqualified because of that but in reality it was just sleeping all the time

Kroakoroc is also the only pokemon he had that uses an item in battle since you can find those glasses in black and white
Rowlet is holding an everstone, lucario is holding the mega lucario stone, and I would think that sirfecthed was holding the leek since it landed multiple critical hits in one battle. But krocaroc was probably the first

Here’s a theory, I think Gengar might be a shiny since it’s lighter, and since it’s the Anime universe, they don’t show shiny sparkles. I’m pretty sure Goh’s shiny Elctrode was shiny wand never had any sparkles, along with ash’s shiny Noctowl.
