Ben The Coin Geek
Old Pueblo Coin
It’s a shame that only 22.4k of us get to enjoy the Geeko dousing us with coin wisdom beyond his young years. Wish we had a president this articulate. 👍
God Bless the Old Pueblo
Sweet looking coins!
Wow that Morgan moon 🌚 toner, outta sight! My digs and I have only less pronounced. This is coin symphony to my eyes. Brain to eye stimuli
There were so many stunning coins in that group that I don't even know where to start. Those CC Morgan dollars made me drool. Thanks for sharing these!
The 26-S is a real Headsracther for sure!
they show the coin to a chicken and if it makes a noise it get's a "CAC"
that purple shine is wild
1865 IHC looks like improper alloy woody, nice coin!
Just got my coin in today from the Campos ebay listing. I bid on them all and only won 1 which actually makes me very happy because you were able to raise more 😊! Super happy with how you all operate fast shipping and great packaging even for a cheaper coin.
Great to hear!
1909 s vdb wow
Some 65 Morgans are real HeadScratchers!
A lot of + graded coins seems they always get a green bean, because cac doesn't recognize the + only the number grade?
The SLQ at 63 is definitely under graded 😱
Has anyone discovered fake CAC stickers? Everything is counterfeited these days.
Off the hissy? Does this guy know what he’s talking about?
That’s a technical numismatic term 😉
Thanks for showing us your CAC
I love that Gettysburg !!
The luster is better on the stickered coin.
They have a plus mark. +
Looks like CAC does not like to sticker red/brown or toned cents.
LOL. Sounds like you were angry and said ...we have a "FRICKEN MORTAR STORE"
Yup 😆
I get that as a shop, it makes monetary sense submitting for a sticker that will markedly improve the price point you can ask for a coin, so you feel obligated to give it a go (and of course for a customer that requests their coins be submitted). For me though, not being a dealer, I either like the look of the coin for the grade. or I don't, which doesn't even mean anything as far as anything being wrong with the coin, just that it may not be to my taste appearance wise. More marks, fewer marks, this type toning vs that type, vs none , strong strike, weak strike, lusterous or more matte or subdued. The thing is, the individual that is collecting, selling, or contemplating buying, can almost always make a case for, or against, any grade (or sticker!) that may be present on a holder. The, 'compare and contrast' that took place in this video clearly demonstrates that! A coin that stickered in several instances, to me, didn't look quite as good as with the same grade designation that didn't. And (as a 'for instance') some MS63's in older holders appeared to have fewer distracting contact marks than some 64's in newer holders. The point is that this video and an earlier one you made really seemed to reinforce my feelings that to a great degree the subjectiveness (and dare I say arbitrary nature !) in grading is something that will always be present within this hobby, as long as humans are involved in the process. Thanks for sharing, I appreciate the wry humor and casual style and beautiful coins.
My thoughts on the 26:
Technical grade is all there, but both PCGS and CAC don’t like the color. It looks like it was dipped in MS70 at some point.
That may be correct - I mean that they have that perspective . I really like that one
Ahh.. this is the third of fourth time I have watched this particular video, I don't know why I find the smiling eagle saying "ello" so funny but it's made my day more than once now.
Always love watching your content. Hope to run into you at a show one of these days
Thank you
Thanks for the video!
35:50 friendly eagle
The Cincy commemorative looks like the toning has eaten into the coin in spots.
WOO HOO All those Morgan CC' s 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Kinda thinking of "the Poseidon Adventure" ( Theres got to be a morning after) Shelly
Hey, Ben. I like that 1955 Franklin in PR68 Cam. That's my birth year. My birthday is next week. HINT HINT! 🤫
Happy Birthday young man!
@@user-oh2hs6jh5x Thank you, User.
Don't forget to note that CAC does not sticker based on the +. Also they didnt sticker that beautiful cent because they probably thought it was QC. the 1924 peace dollar is BEAUTIFUL. I'm strongly convinced peace dollar grading is done with a dart board. Honestly. There seems to be NO consistentcy what soe ver
Love the S VDB but it doesn't match my collection
So you sent a check with your order did you get back money for coins not Green Beaned. Or did you have to pay for those also?
I love me some Peace Dollars. I bet they gain more popularity over the next year.
It used to feel like the world hated Peace dollars, not so much now.
So really handsome coins, especially those Lincoln cents that didn't sticker
surprised that Gettysburg didn't get flagged for pvc
If it’s there- they should sticker it
Ben, what exactly does the CAC sticker do for it? Does it mean the coin is properly graded?
The short version- and in my words, it means it is a quality coin for the grade - often with nice eye appeal
Hi Ben. So, what are your other 4 favorite classic silver commemoratives? *>>>----------------->* 🦉
While we are waiting for Ben, I’ll share mine:
1) Pan Pac $50 Octo
2) Lafayette Dollar
3) Spanish Trail
4) Oregon Trail
I like that 1914 d. VF is a good grade on that.
Putting a coin in a graded holder makes sense to me. It preserves it and assures its authentication. The CAC sticker just looks like marketing to me and I don't like it at all.
Never understood the green bean , tbh. Marketing gimmick to make more money
Coin grading is done by flawed human beings. The green bean means that a second company not only agrees with the slabbed grade, but thinks the coin is better-than-average for that grade. There’s less room for grading error when two grading companies agree. That makes the coin more desirable to the marketplace. Look at it this way… if you’re buying a house and two different independent appraisers agree on the value, you’re probably going to feel better about paying that price.
Double certified and an A or B coin for grade. CAC is worth the money.
@mjanovec you make great points. I'm sure you've been in the hobby for some time as we all have. We know what a coin should score before we send it off. We look the coin over and over and over. Then we send it in to whatever tpg company we choose. Most of the time our coin comes back pretty damn close to what grade we initially thought. Also, the authenticity is verified via the tpg as well. I can see the green bean being better for newer hobbyists but not so much for people of whom have been in the hobby for 10+ years. Either way, its not like it is a mandatory thing so its optional which is fine.
Isn’t it funny that we call those Indian head cents.. and the design is actually lady liberty. The Buffalo nickel is the only one that has a true Indian on it.
Federal law states:Morgan’s always look better on the Reverse, lol
Yay! On the '02 S...
Can a person send in a coin to CAC, graded by CACG, and get it stickered?? 🤔
They oughta do that for free.
No. One or the other.
No.
Hey there. Big fan.
That Gettysburg is tremendous
Ben man:
Rule of thumb, a heuristic if you will:
On that ‘42 10c PF 65:
If a coin looks like it has MOLD growing on it, or perhaps someone dropped it in the garage while changing their oil, no, it ain’t gonna sticker.
Duly noted

Ben🤓 doesn’t seem to know what he’s doing, at least in my opinion. Does anyone know if he’s taken his dementia medication ? The reason I ask is because this video seems like deja vu all over again to me. 🤔 A full half-inning in BASEBALL is played until the team in the field records three outs; therefore a full inning would be a total of six outs recorded by both teams, but he seems to be confusing strikes with outs. However, just like Ben, I did very much like the NGC Mint State-64 1926-S Peace Dollar that didn’t receive a sticker. ⚾️⚾️⚾️
ROGER, The LOS ANGELES DODGER
What do you mean he doesn't know what he's doing?I'll bet he forgot more than you know
