Exploring Maui: Road to Hana Tips & Tricks

- The road to Hana is one of Maui’s top things to do for tourists and locals alike. This winding, narrow road that spans the entire East coast of Maui is an adventure not to be missed while visiting Maui. We spent an entire day exploring as many of the roadside stops, waterfalls, and trails as we could. We chose to beat the crowds by leaving very early, driving all the way to the end of the road at Waimoku Falls trail in Haleakala National Park, and then driving back and making stops against the flow of traffic.

What a nice surprise! I love Maui. I never did the road to Anna so it was nice to see what it actually looks like. I was too chicken lol looking forward to next week. You always know you’re in Hawaii when you see the roosters lol
Lol the roosters and chickens were everywhere! 🐓
We did the Road to Hana tour back in 2011, I believe. Absolutely gorgeous!!
My now ex & I toured the entire island of Maui. Enjoy your trip!! 💞
Yep, as the road narrows, be careful cuz you'll probably be the one finding a way to back up so the vehicle coming your direction can move along.
It was a beautiful drive. So lush!
@@HomeARoam yes ma'am! I want to go back, again. You gotta check out the black sand beach, too. Oh & the rainbow trees
Maui is great island, we really enjoyed when we were there many years ago. We wished we could have spent more time there.
There is so much to see. We're pretty sure someone could spend a lifetime discovering all the little books and crannies of this beautiful island.
I love. Hooikipa! Down on the beach there are usually tons of sea turtles!
We didn't see any that evening, but went back another day and saw all kinds! Even a pair of Hawaiian monk seals!
On my bucket list. Looks fab.
It was a fun day. There are so many options for stops! It would be possible to go several times and stop at different hikes and shops each time.
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! Hope you found it useful. Enjoy some banana bread when you go!
Was there in 2015 with my family, we loved that RTH trip and the banana bread. Love Maui but don’t like the US conversion. If you can find Ululani’s Shave ice (in Lahaina) and Leoda’s Pies (humpback highway) try them both- your sweet tooth will thank you!
Thanks for the tips! Can't go wrong with pie 😋😋😋
Wow !! Beautiful place !! As always enjoy your channel!! BS & BK & BC !!!
It was so lush and full of life!
I thought that I missed out on the Huli Huli Chicken because we already had lunch when we went there but you reassured me! Nice video Mel & Jay, thanks for sharing!
Merci! What was your favorite place to eat on Maui?
@@HomeARoam We really liked the Kabob Chicken at the Poke Bobs food truck in Hana and the Açai Bowls at the Sweet Hula in Kihei were delicious too for a refreshing desert!
I'm mixed up. Approx when did you go to the islands?
This spring after Texas.
They’re at home right now building their van…..betcha.😂
