  • What good is a toilet without a handle! To replace your broken toilet handle and arm, first pick up a replacement flush lever handle at a big box store or Amazon:

Replacing a stuck flush lever or a broken toilet handle is definitely a DIY task. The existing handle simply unscrews. And the replacement toilet handle easily screws on BUT ONLY FINGER TIGHT. No wrench needed.
IMPORTANT: The nut inside the toilet tank that secures the handle (old and new) will likely be reverse threaded. That means unscrewing the nut requires a clockwise rotation and tightening the nut requires counter-clockwise rotation.
If you have a bendable brass arm attached to your handle, it can be bent. Be Careful to follow package instructions to bend the brass toilet handle arm in the correct place.

Your video made me finally decide to choose this brand. I had to go 5 times!!! To HMDPT to get the right "lever" because mine is angle sideway just like yours. Sooo darn easy to install and it works great. 🙏🏼 Thank you.

Korky’s are the best in my opinion. Last long. Work well. Easy to install and adjust as needed.

    Thanks for the video.
I have done everything as far as I can tell exactly as you did in the video. But my handle does not lift the lever. It feels like it is stripped but it’s brand new.

      Hey Olive,
The lever inside the tank ( had an adjustment feature that had to be tightened once adjusted to fit. If yours is the same, I would check that.
Otherwise, maybe it’s just faulty. I would move the handle slowly with the tank lid off and see where it is going wrong.
      Thx for watching!

Same problem but I bought the metal universal handle. No matter where I bend it I can’t get it to lift the lever. 😖

Once I put the top back to the tank, the lever doesn’t lift high enough. And it’s too low if I move the chain

Check for lever adjustment / some are made that way, some are metal ( copper ) that can be bent.

Could you. Not just replace the plastic nut?

I installed the same unit before I saw your video. I like it because it seems strong, but the construction is stupid. It does NOT fit all toilets as advertised. I have a side mounted handle, but the hole for it is much further back on the tank than in this video. So, every time I flush, I have to reach way back and push down on the back of the handle - very awkward. The original handle was facing forward, and that was very natural. There is no way to make this unit do that. Every time I flush it pisses me off that they didn't make it adjustable.

      Hey Cockpit,
Maybe … buy just a side-mounted replacement handle???

All that plastic mine would snap and I would need to replace the thing that broke, whilst replacing that thing which is attached to something else that thing breaks. From shutting off the drain 10 million times the toilet breaks …. My as well move!
