thank you im a 15 year old and had no clue how to do this and my dad never taught me anything so this really helped
Good for you young man! I am 63 years old and I needed to watch also.

Maybe young goldfish?

This is so easy, I can't believe I ever called the maintenance to do something that is SO EASY to do. I do not mind paying a little money to replace the lever and handle. It saves me time and worry about having anyone in my apartment when I am not there over something so easy. Great video.
I'm in the same scenario. Like you I prefer to be there and hence have to wait around for maintenance.
Thank you from a person who did not want to call a handyman during the stay home order of 2020. This was so easy! Thanks! ♥️
Glad it helped!
Really why waste money
@@corrinedirks1601 in some cases honestly it's worth just doing it yourself instead of the pain of scheduling maintenance
Thank you for not cutting out the arm adjustments. Many only show the finished work making it look so easy, and then you get in there and get frustrated because it doesn't work completely on the first try. Very good, realistic video.

Video definitely helped me, my lever broke the other day, got a hold of a new lever, followed the video step by step, your tutorial really helped me!
Thank you so much. Bought a new one at Home Depot for about $7.50. Came home opened up your video and replaced the old one with the new one and was done in under 10 minutes. Thanks again for the video.
Fantastic!
Thank you!!! I used your information and made this repair all by myself. Home Depot had all of the parts and I did not need any tools.
You are a life saver... thank you again.
That toilet tank looks pristine. I opened mine after a few years today and it looks like black plague from medieval times. Changing this flush lever as we speak. So good when you can diy this stuff
Been doing similar for years. Imagine if you had to call a handyman, plumber or electrician for every little easy fix. Saves you a ton with know how.
😂😂😂😂😂
If your toilet tank is black, it's probably full of black mold. That stuff releases poisonous spores, and although you're probably fine, it has killed people before.
Take a spray bottle, fill it with warm water, and shake a bunch of borax in there. Once the borax is good and dissolved, spray it everywhere the mold touches. Maybe put some borax in the toilet tank too so it'll dissolve and sanitize your tank as it fills. That'll kill the mold. Once it dries out you can just wipe it off.
Great Video, straight to the point without a lot of BS Self promotion or unneeded music. THANKS
Omg exactly
thanks for this. you saved me an embarrassing return to the store because the arm was too straight to fit inside my curved tank. i didn't know i could actually bend the rod to fit until you told me. (i was afraid it would break...) 👍
SAME!!
Thank you so much! I can go fix my mom's lever tomorrow. Great video for a simple DIY.
So helpful. I think it actually made your video better things not working right away. You showed how to make adjustments. I will give this a go. I probably will regret spending the last month flushing via opening the top and pulling up the arm haha.
Thank you so much. My husband always took care of these type of things. His been sick and your video saved me another trip to the store. I was afraid to bend the long handle I thought I might break it until I saw you bend it. Thank you have a great day.
This helped me install a lever replacement. Short and sweet. You are the best. Thank you!
Great to hear!
Thank you. Most helpful video for an amateur like me. Saved me time and money.👍❤️
My dad just passed, I now have to look up this stuff
Dad passed 5 yrs ago, we're all learning brother
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was actually able to do this all by myself, just watching your video!😊👍 thank you!
Left hand thread. Tried to take the nut off the new lever. I was tightening it instead of loosing it.
Thank you.
Mine just broke that's why I looked this up. I really appreciate the tutorial!
Thank you!! Finally a video on how to change the handle and make flapper thing work 😂 good job ❤
EXCELLENT and very clear! You really showed the detail necessary to do this. Thank You!!
Thank you very, very much. I'm a single, girly-girl and I had ABSOLUTELY NO-IDEA what I was going to do!
You did a great job explaining how to replace and also showed how to "MacGyver" (LOL!) if need be! I greatly appreciate your help! Have a blessed day! 🌷
Thanks so much for your tutorial. My husband said it is difficult to fix, so I will go tomorrow to by a new handle to replace for our hallway bathroom. 😊
Thank you for sharing your knowledge on how to change a toilet flush lever. I just managed to change out the broken flush lever in my parents' bathroom. And thanks for saving me $50+ from having to call a plumber! Cheers!
Awesome. I’m a widow and have been doing all kinds of manly 😊 jobs around the house. This looks easy. Thanks a lot!
Thanks so much for this video mom of 2 small kids this part broke. This was super helpful to me while fixing it 👌
THANK YOUUUU SIRRRRRR!!! Im so
proud of myself thanks to you! 🫡 God bless!
Got woken up early Sunday by my wife getting ready for work and was told the toilet wasn’t flushing found this video, thanks dude saved me a call to my landlord
I know this is kinda old but thanks so much for this video. I did it thanks to you!!😄
Thank you Shannon, for this useful video.
I wanted to add that the 'bend trick' appears to only work with metal rods. Plastic rods (like the one I purchased) won't bend, they'll just snap.
This video helped me more than you could know tonight... Thank You.
Thank you for your amazing video, I purchased the flush lever thingy an thought I purchased the wrong size until I saw your video!!!
Thanks man this is the best video on how to do it.
Dude! Great tip about being able to bend the rod down; that's what fixed my problem. No other video of this nature that I watched mentioned that. I was seriously going to return this lever and buy a different one that I thought would work.
thank you for what you said early in the video ... REVERSE THREAD NUT .... I was struggling installing my new lever until you pointed that out! THANK YOU!
I had no idea where to even start until I saw this. Thank you!
Thanks! had mine fall apart today. Now I've fixed it and its back to working like normal.
Thank you so much for this super understandable straightforward explanation! If I'd have known this video was out there, i mighta realized i could have easily fixed this a couple months ago instead of putting it off 😭
Thank you Shannon. Love your demos very much.
So glad I found this video. Amazing, quick and easy. Mine broke today and I thought I was going to have to call a plumber. LOL
thanks this video helped a lot.Was trying to get the nut screwed on the back of the toilet handle saw how you did it and got it fixed in just a few seconds
Thank you very much!!! Just fixed my first toilet, never knew it could be so easy lmao
Thank you from the girl that lost her handyman dad a year ago! Appreciate it!!
Glad I could help
Damn mine just broke and I found this video👌😎👍
mine too! wow thanks for this video!
Thanks my mom needed this done and my dad is dead so I needed this vid btw I’m 12
Nice video brother you solved my problem.... I didn’t know flush Handel also comes with metal rod which makes easier to bend away from the tank but with plastic u can’t do that
Thank you internet man my toilets flushing like a dream noe
Thanks dad.
I learned something today it's a left handed thread. Thanks I fixed my toilet handle.
Reverse thread! Handy to know. I was fiddlin' around trying to get the damn thing off the normal way. Thanks!
Reverse thread almost got me. Whatever happened to righty-tighty lefty-loosey ?? Anyway, this video cleared it up! Thank you
I'm headed to the toilet - wish me luck!
Thank you so much for this helpful info.
I did it! With your excellent help - thank you!
Great video great teaching very helpfull.
Thanks !!! I was trying to do it myself and your video helped me a lot!!!!!
Glad I could help!
Thank you this helped very much!!
Thank you!! This really helped!
Thank you so much ! This helped a lot 👍
Thank you!!! Straight and to the point!!!
Excellent tutorial. Thank you.
Thanks so much for a very informative fix. I actually think I can do it now.
Thank you sir. Should've watched this video before I went out and bought one. I have a curved tank also and the plastic rod was hitting the tank, I tried bending the rod and it just snapped. I'll go buy the one that you can bend.
Right on
Thanks saved some money!
Thank you! I learned a lot and was able to fix my toilet!
Thanks. Great video. BTW, who would give 5 thumbs down on fixing a toilet lever? LOL
5 plumbers
I did it!! I did it!! Thank you so much!!
Very helpful video. Thanks
Thank you for this I just fixed mine! 🤙
Thank you! I was able to fix mine because of your video :)
I got a nice chrome plated metal handle one, with a round rod that flattens out at the end, and I had to bend it down about 30° to keep it from ckinking on the underside of the lid. There is a rubbery square inside the handle that presses into the square opening of the toilet tank, although it is a little mushy. However there is a lot play in the handle and rod where it goes through the tube with threads on it, and there's a strange little circular ring just sitting loose at the end of the threads that the nut goes over. Tightening the nut does not help the looseness. It flushes fine and springs back, but I don't know that it should be so wobbly.
Very helpful, thank you!
I was able to do it, thanks so much for your help.
Thank you for this!
Again, you come to the rescue!
This was a whole lot better than the hyper active 20 year old that had no patience. bad vibes and chemistry radiants from him. This guy is great!!
Great video. Simple and easy
Thanks, straight forward & concise.
Thank you! Worked like a charm! 👍🏽
My just broke yesterday 12/17/19 Just found this video thanks Home Depot
Thank you, very helpful
Mine just broke as well. Thanks for this. The issue with it now is that the handle will not pop up like it used to.I have to wait for the float for it to come back. Maybe I need to bend the handle some as well.
Thank you very much for showing me how! ;)
Thank you for the useful video instruction. 👍
Thank you! Done. Easy peasy
Very helpful and descriptive, Thanks you
Thank you for posting this video
Interesting, I'm not sure I've seen a toilet tank with Styrofoam in it before. Is that insulation to prevent sweating in humid climates, or to decrease the gallons per flush?
sweating
@@HouseImprovements ^ bingo. never used to have this problem when the tanks had thicker ceramic. now everything is thinned out, thus bc of the heat transfer it sweats. so annoying
Very easy thank you
Thank you!
Thanks.. Great vid...you are a star!
Thank you so much for your help !!!❤️
Thank you..well done...
Shouldn't you shut off the water while you're working on the toilet? Other than that, I did mine the same as in this video, and it worked.
For doing this particular repair its not necessary but you can
Only watched this to see if you mentioned rev thread good job
Thanks a lot. I did it.
Thank you so much 🙏
Great video
I did it...thanks!
Thank you
