Vale of Rheidol locomotive Number 8 in BR Black Livery!

Two 2-6-2T Vale of Rheidol locomotives, number 7 in GWR green livery and number 8 'Llywelyn' in newly painted British Railway black livery, in action on a photo charter near Devil's Bridge station on 2nd/3rd November 2023.
Number 7 is seen hauling a short freight consist whilst number 8 was on a rake of passenger stock in blood/custard livery.
The charter coincided with the arrival of Storm Ciarán and photography was particularly challenging on Day 1 with strong winds, rain and very dull lighting conditions. As compensation, a period of sunshine on Day 2 gave some spectacular views of the valley in its beautiful Autumn colours.
