- (2006) Kobe amazing finish in game 4 thriller vs Suns in 2006 playoffs.
Kobe has always been known as the best clutch player in the NBA since Michael Jordan.
Before every season, about 80% of the general managers picked Kobe as THE guy they want to take the last shot.
Kobe couldn't have made his case any better than in game 4 vs Phoenix in the 2006 playoffs.
Thanks to Smush Parker steal, he first made a tough runner vs Boris Diaw with 0,7sec left in regulation to force an unexpected overtime.
Then, down by 3 with 10 sec to go in OT, he scored with a quick basket before Walton forced Steve Nash to a jumpball, setting the stage to Kobe Bryant greatest game winner.
His buzzer beater and "most fun shot he ever hit" as Kobe described it, helped his team to take a 3-1 lead.
Definitely one of Kobe greatest moments ever in one of the greatest ending I've ever seen.
Kobe 2nd basket is missing on the video due to a late broadcast. - Sport
Kobe Bryant's game winner will go down as the most epic plays of our time.
after all these years, these old videos of kobe still give me the chills
greatest clutch player ever
i never wanna forget that feeling... after both of those shots... i was crying both times
Like MJ even said himself, Kobe is the ONLY person that deserves comparisons.
I get goosebumps every time i see this :D
Never gets old
WHOO!!!! Kobe is ridiculous! one of my favs!
we lack the fire this time around...we need game 5 back in LA to be one of these types of games! it'll bring the fire back.
Best game Kobe ever played, at least in my book. He was a great player before this game, but after this.....he became a legend!
i think i was to young to watch this game (15) but i just watched this and holy crap, greatest ending to a NBA game i have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes the 2006 season...the same season he scored 62 & 81 ...the same season he hit this game winner vs phoenix...the season he should have one MVP 'cause he was simply the best player on the planet
amazing game. saw that live. chills. man chills.
and on another note, Mike Breen called a hell of a game. Even simply listening to his commentary gives me chills.
gave me goosebumps
i already know whats gonna happen and i still watch this all the time ....
gives me chills every time ... !!
LA 09'
and 2010 2011 2012
lol
god i want to play like Kobe
thats one i'l never forget
kobe, the best to ever play the game
Mike Breen is my favorite NBA announcer for reasons like this. Especially for the "Bang!"
goosebumps everytime i watch this game
one of the greatest games ever
definately one of the greatest gamess!! i was watchingg it with doubt mann.
i really thought we were gunna loose that game. butt when kobes playingg there should never be a doubt!!!sooonnn
Go KOBE
BAAANNNGGG!!!
Mike Breen is AWESOME!!!
this gotta b in the top ten best nba game
it would be a shame to see nash leave the league without a ring cause he is one of the all time greatest PGs....plus all of his teams give a great show every game with a fast pace style....
that was awesome...
i love this game
this is why im a lakers fan
kobe was in video game mode
nice!!!!! kobe ist the best!
Phil looks like: Did you expect anything different?
basketball is the greatest drama watch and listen to the last play. the jump that almost went out of bounce the save luke with the with the shadow pick kobe dribble the crowd is going crazy kobe at the elbow elevates over two players lets it fly the crowd goes silent holds their breathe and wait.... and watches........ BANG!! The crowd goes crazy. That why i love this game. The Drama of the Game and it take greatest like KB24 to bring it.
the funny thing about this game was it wasnt like kobe was on fire all day and just hit another shot he was having a ok game i mean he only had like 24 points but that proves how good he is
Smush hit a HUGE three
Kobe takes more shots because he can make those shots. If he passed the pass to his team to finish they wouldn't make playoffs. Kobe is the team, and he has proven that time and time again
kobe is the best...
he didnt lose the mvp this year...kobe was MVP this year..
epic game for kobe bryant. :D
Smush Parker's greatest hits
totally agree.
kobe was mvp that year im sorry nash kobe was undeniable the best player on the planet that year
i get depressed every time i see this because of what eventually ended up happening....but it was exciting in the moment.
MVP MVP. The closest thing to mj
@cradleofjohannes 100% sure, because this was one of the iconic series in Suns history. One of the best comebacks in nba playoffs. Suns were down 1-3, and won 3 straight to win the series.
I STILL cant believe they was up 3-1, then lost 4-3. Kinda like 2008 finals Game 4
OMG! Kwame dunked!
after the buzzer beater why was he so emotional? now in 2010 he just puts his two arms up and doesnt even smile.
@rareezy24 Haha. that's a good way to put it. Just the thought of "wtf, it's ALWAYS Kobe"
Dude breaks hearts left and right in the NBA. Stone cold killer.
Games like this are the prime example of why I'm proud to be a Kobe fan:)
why did we lost that series??? im so mad looking back now, it was so sad man we could have gone up against the clippers!!! who knows we coudl have won then!
Yes, he wasn't getting MJ type numbers. But again, who else would you want shooting the ball on that team. Who's to say if any of the other superstars had to shoot 27 times a game, that they wouldn't shoot the same percentage. And even if it was at 45%, his numbers were still incredible. He had a season in which only MJ and Wilt have scored more total points. That's amazing. Not to mention 10 50 point games, 81 points, 62 in 3 quarters, etc.
2:41 great shot
At the end of the day, I'm pretty sure Kobe can go to sleep knowing that he'll go down as at least the second best player of all time to Michael Jordan.
@TyronakaBallar Again going off topic. I NEVER speculated on whether they would've won without Kobe. All i'm saying is, Shaq got and deserved all 3 of those Finals MVPs. Here are the numbers to support. 2000NBA finals. Shaq; 38pts 16reb 2.6blk(Kobe: 15ppg 5.3asts), 2001 NBA finals. shaq: 33pts 14reb 3.4blks(kobe: 24ppg 5.8asts), 2002NBA finals. shaq: 36pts 12reb 2.7blks(Kobe: 26.9ppg 5.3reb 5.8asts). the latter was Kobe's best performance, still not up there with Shaqs numbers.
So he led the Lakers to a 7th seed averaging 35 pts a game while shooting a whopping 27 shots a game, on an inefficient 45%...
BIG WHOOP.
1:43 OMG KWAME CAUGHT THE BALL!!
too bad they still lost the series i was like :.(
Damn everyone cheering for L.A. seems like they were stressed this whole game until Kobe hit that shot
i cant believe they got so close to winning this series with kwame brown on the team!
the fucking arena almost came down when kobe hit that J
i wishh the laker crowd was this exciting now
do you know why people were "giving ass baths with their tongues" to michael and not to kobe, its because he completely changed the way the game is played. HE IS BETTER THAN KOBE. he is the best to ever play the game.
I dont like Kobe but i have to say he is the best player in the league.
It's not MVP numbers. That's for sure. And he actually averaged 12 for 27. Allen Iverson shot jacking numbers. We're not talking about MJ with the 80' Bulls here.
Before they acquired Bynum which tells that they were on a proper path without Gasol and that even if he wasnt taken they wud've done it in 2009. You can examine gregg Poppovichs perspective, they got Marc, Salary Cap space, Mayo and opened up gay with that trade. NBA's a business, btw they hadnt won 1 for 12 years until they did they "bought' their way in 2000
@cradleofjohannes Hell yeah dude
Lakers should have won this series
Man if we could have gotten past the Suns, Kobe could have single-handedly taken the Lakers deep in the playoffs. The next round would have been the Clippers for christ sake.
whats the music around 7:47
6:37 you see the guy in the black shirt run over to the huddle lol
Jordan-esque.
45% is inefficient? 9-20 is 45%. That's one make shy of 10-20, which is 50%. And even if we was shooting 27 times a game, who else would you want shooting the ball on that team if you were the coach?
and then they lost 2 years later in the WCF'S to who? that same man KOBE=MVP IN 06
5:10 - mvsteeve breaking smush's ankles...
sensational, such a close game, each team trading huge shots, great game to watch
it doesnt matter what he thinks. even kobe says hes not as good as michael was so theres no argument
@TyronakaBallar I'm talking about who looked better in the regular season, and thats what the League looks at. Lebron had better stats and his team won more games, thus earning the MVP. Again im talking about MVPs and not the greatest of all time, so im just gonna ignore that mention of Oscar Robinson. You forget lebron is only 25, he has ALOT of room to grow. you see him now he has a way better jumper than when he entered the league, he IS improving. it's just a long process. give him time
Kwame Browns best play of his career
in which season did kobe scored 81 points? Is it in this season or..?!
do u see the guys face at 6:40 and nash jus walks off court like wade after kobe got him on a buzzer beater thy r like its always kobe WTF especially wade he was like "oh hell no there is something extremely wrong wit this guy something extreeemely wrong" kobe does it again jus like they said wit jordan he breaks peoples hearts
But it does matter what he thinks, since it is a matter of opinion. The man coached Jordan. He would know. And for as much as people are on Kobes jock these days, it does not even come close to how they were with Jordan. Not only were people all over his jock, I think they were giving Jordan ass baths with their tongues.
oh my bad then
4:41 it looks like Kobe is saying "Great Play Motherfucker"...Lmfao!!!!
@catdogcirca1990s agreed
@TyronakaBallar what Kobe did for LA was spectacular, but compared side to sidfe with what Shaq did, no doubt shaq had the better stats. Maybe you forget that MVP is SEASON mvp, no one gives a shit who advances or who gets knocked out in the 1st round. thats y they have a Finals MVP. when Nowitzki won MVP, he got booted in the 1st round, but did he deserve MVP? absolutely. 67wins. a 50-40-90 stat. maybe you're forgetting the subject matter here, im not talkin about whos better. to be continued
@xxcanesfan4lifexx yea right
@cardogcirca1990s agreed
I love the flash but kobe is just better shooter, better rebounder, better defensive player, more effort. If you ask who is the best player in the league is, D-Wade prolly gets one shout out in a group of ten. Kobe and Lebron are on another plateau.
8:17 look at all the scrubs surround him that year...Yikes!!!
suns still won the series!
4, they barely "embarrassed" them once, u guys were best in the league in 2000 and it took a close game 5, 2001 was a hot streak for u, and dont get me started on 2002*
(btw thats only 3)
Wow, grow up. The jump ball call in OT was debatable, but the steal at the end of regulation was not disputed in the least. Completely clean. You're obviously a Suns fan, you won the series, get over it. Or are you just upset that the Suns are so terrible now?
@TyronakaBallar i'm as big a Kobe fan as the next guy. But to give him MVP for the 2-3 years before Gasol is absurd. Cuz in that case they might've well given it to Lebron in his second season. cuz he put up the numbers(27ppg 6reb 6ast) Kobe is putting right now and the Cavs won like 45games. that would make the MVP award ridiculous. Let Kobe gather the Finals MVPs. cuz he couldnt do them while Shaq was around, he put up numbers like 40pts and 17reb. ur tellin me Kobe deserved it more?
no you should watch T-Mac's 13 points in 35 seconds
just wondering... how did kobe lose the mvp to nash this year? im not dissing nash hes an amazing player but he had 2 other all stars on his team. kobe scored 81 points and lead his team to the playoffs. im just wondering. not trying to bash anyone.
kobe was in the same situation a couple years ago. the lakers were a young team like miami is now. i mean c'mon you know your team is bad when smush parker is starting with kwame brown. and im talking about when kobe was on a bad team like wade is now. i know wade doesnt average 35.4 points. Kobe has been through what wade is going through. Miami is better than LA was. name on good player other than odom out of this line up and kboe : smush parker, kobe, walton, odom, kwame brown, bynum was 17
Damn, @xxcanesfan4lifexx you sure did get a lot of Hate for speakin the TRUTH!!
Kobe is NOT a clone! He can't possibly copy NObody's every move. You people are crazy!!
Kobe! You the best baby!
Last, he was wit the Clips, now he's in China
