    Born into Islam? I was born in the Southeastern U.S. in a white Christian Conservative family and went to a Christian Academy where I graduated with a 4.0GPA. I am also open minded and can think for myself....thinking for myself Allah lead me to Islam and I found the truth and made the decision to become Muslim alhamdulillah.

      What does your GPA have to do with it? Faith is completely independent of education or IQ. Some of the academically smartest people in the world are religious, others are not; many impoverished, poorly educated communities are religious too. Belief transcends academia - it's more an issue of culture and cognition. If you're wired to believe this stuff, you will. I'm an atheist because I've never heard a convincing reason to believe in a monotheistic God. All religion is subjective, it has nothing to with GPA scores.

      1)False. There were no mathematical errors in the verse. What James did was point out specific scenarios where the fractions wouldn't divide into 1, which Islamic Jurisprudence worked out long ago how to apply the verse in those scenarios. Which is fine because Islamic Jurisprudence doesn't come solely from the Quran.
      2)James has already been explained this by Mohammed Hijab, and yet he just wants to troll this same issue to different speakers (not as versed on Inheritance) with no interest in learning about the background of the Prophet (pbuh), which clearly shows James disingenuous nature.
      3)And no, not all sources are biased. Many non Muslims have studied and commented on Muhammad (pbuh) without coming to the conclusion that he was a liar, and in fact concluding that he was a Great human being. But learning about Islam from Christians out to prove Muhammad (pbuh) either was a liar, or got his revelations from the Devil, is obviously a disingenuous place to start. On the other hand if you learn from knowledgeable Muslims, we've already seen they are not going to lie about what's in the Quran as MH truthfully told James this was worked out later and truthfully explained that's how Islamic Jurisprudence works.

As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allāh. But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." James claim already been refuted, I quote...
    Let me first extract the translation that have provided from Adullah Yusuf Ali for verse 4:11; and 4:12. I quote;
    “(Koran 4:11)
    Allah directs you as regards your children's (Inheritance): to the male a portion equal to that of two females: if only daughters, two ormore, Their share is two-thirds of the inheritance; if only one, her, share is a half. For parents, a sixth share of the inheritance to each, if the deceased left children; if no children, and the parents are the heirs, the mother has a third; if the deceased left brothers the mother has a sixth...
    (Koran 4:12)
    In what your wives leave, your share is a half, if they leave no child; but if they leave a child, ye get a fourth; after payment of legacies and debts. In what ye leave, their share is a fourth, If ye leave no child; but if ye leave a child, they get an eighth; after payment.”
    Now your claim is that, according to the above verses, if a man dies and leaves three daughters, two parents and his wife, three daughters together will receive 2/3 of the share, the parents will receive 1/3 of the share and the wife will receive 1/8 of the share.
    If you read the Qur’an in Arabic you will see that at the beginning of 4.11 Allah uses the plural word in Arabic ‘awlaad’ for “…your children’s (inheritance)…” but then Allah uses the singular word in ‘walad’ for “…if the deceased left a child...” Therefore, the above translation, ‘if the deceased left children’, is incorrect as the Qur’an uses the word walad and not awlaad, and walad is the Arabic word for a child, or one child, where as awlaad is the word for more than one child or children. Pickthall and many other Quran translators have given a proper translation.
    Now let us look at 4.11 a little closer. We are told that two or more daughters (if and only if the man dies with no sons) will receive 2/3’s of the man’s inheritance. We are also told that the parents will receive a sixth (1/6) of the man’s inheritance if the deceased left a child (not children) (to each, thus we take 1/6 + 1/6 = 2/6 or 1/3). In the example that you provided, there are more than one child. Therefore, the Quran does not fix here the share of the parents as 1/3 in this particular instance. The share of the wife will be 1/8 as per verse 4:12.
    Now let us test this out. Let’s use the scenario stated by you. A man dies and leaves behind three daughters, his parents, and a wife. Because we are not told what his parents will get if he haschildren,we must then substitute a variable in place of his parents, and we get the following simple equation: 2/3 (for daughters from verse 4:11) + 1/8 (for wife from verse 4.12) + X (for parents) = 1 (using 1 as 100% the man’s wealth) Let’s solve this.
    2/3 + 1/8 = 19/24
    19/24 + X = 1
    X = 1 - 19/24
    X = 5/24
    And this works as 2/3 + 1/8 + 5/24 is indeed equal to 1.
    I hope that you now understood how to distribute wealth in the given scenario provided by you. Now let us look at the second claim.
    You also claim that there is a further discrepancy in this matter in the case of a man who leaves a mother, a wife, and two sisters. You are arguing that if the allotted shares are added up the total exceeds the total estate, i.e, 1/3 (mother) + 2/3 (sisters) + 1/4 (wife) = 5/4 = 1.25 will be more than the available property.
    You are again mistaken. To arrive at the said allotted shares, here you refers to the shares allotted in Surah 4, verse 176 of the Qur’an. You have conveniently quoted only part of the verse (“...If it is a man that dies, leaving a sister but not child) Please take the Quran and check what is there in the dotted portion. I will quote for you the entire verse.
    “Allah directs (thus) about those who leave no descendants or ascendants as heirs. If it is a man that dies, leaving a sister but no child, she shall have half the inheritance: If a woman dies and leaves no child, her brother takes her inheritance: If there are two sisters, they shall have two-thirds of the inheritance. If there are brothers and sisters, the male takes twice the share of the female.
    In the above verse, the case described is that of a man who is called in Arabic "kalalah" which is correctly translated by Yusuf Ali as one who leaves "no descendants or ascendants." This ayah refers to a man who leaves neither parent nor child. At the time of his death his mother already lays in her own grave and as such can lay no claim to a share of inheritance. Then how can you come with an example of a man leaving behind a mother, two sisters and wife and then evolve your fantasies based on this verse?

      He's not avoiding questions lol. You see to understand Islam, you have to go through all the way from A to Z. Explaining each detail. It takes a significant amount of time explaining what each topic means. Islam isn't a religion where you can cherry pick a verse or a hadith and say this and that simply. Rather you have to go in depth and that's what bro Hamza were doing. He was trying to tell James what it means and what happened in depth that takes time in which James answered with "Avoiding questions" like you guys City Of Charles Dirt and Adam Hunter. If you watch the video carefully and listen, you'll hear what Hamza said was he's trying to say has everything to do with the topic in his argument with James even though it sounds as if he's avoiding the question. First establish a claim, prove the claim with history prior to that and afterwards, prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) actions about it or what Allah said regarding the matter, taking every option to understand it as a whole and again, this takes time. I suggest instead of just watching EF Dawah, spend time learning about Islam from a reliable, unbiased source. Don't be like James who go to anti Islam websites and blindly claim Islam is this and that to make himself look smart when he's in denial. You can't come telling me and expect to listen Islam is all about war, rape, has errors when the source you're referring to isn't even reliable.

    • @farisshah4852
      @farisshah4852 Před 5 lety +9

      I think he already did give a slight in depth look on Sharia Law in one of the videos in this channel. It's about the cutting of hands and all that. If i'm not mistaken there was a young lad that came up to him with these questions about Sharia Law and Hamza explained it nicely. I wouldn't say in depth because they don't have all the time in the world but it was enlightening nonetheless. You understand bits of what Sharia Law is about and given that i'm a muslim myself and that i've studied bit of it, what he said was correct. Sharia Law isn't meant to harm people or bring terror. They're meant to control the society. Having strict laws to prevent immoral acts in public. Even when a person is caught stealing, you have to look at that person's financial status etc. Is he poor? Has he been eating well? If that is not the government's job to help the needy then who else can the homeless turn to? If he is caught stealing when he's poor then the cutting of hands aren't applicable. To even get the punishment done is almost impossible due to the strict requirements of it. Even during prophet Muhammad's time, these punishments are hardly done unless of course the people who commit fulfilled those requirements.

    To clarify this to people ( not James’s), the inheritance is not 1, or 100%, there are a tremendous list involved it could be:
    1. A cow or 1/2 a cow.
    2. Four sheep.
    3. One goat.
    4. One house.
    5. A farm.
    6. A donkey.
    7. 5 horses.
    8. 1/2 kg of golds.
    9. 1,12 kg silver.
    3000 ponds.
    Can you all see what is involved here.
    Are these equal to 100%, or 1, it’s madness.
    Last point is if a man own only 1/2 cows, is the 1/2 equal 100% or 1.
    The QURAAN is a book of guidance not cyclopedia, it’s not a manual of instruction, that manual is given to the prophets to explains, so as u don’t find explanation of prayer or Hajj in QURAAN, same with the inheritance, as bro Hamazah said, than all deceased are 12.5 % in debts because the inheritance is short by 12.5%, thats is either a childish or madness, or self sickness. As all Atheist, James will not leave these subjects which he gone rounds and rounds again and again, instead he will bring them again, if he does then it shows the man is not normal.
    Remember QURAAN is not cyclopedia, it’s guidance, if it was cyclopedia, it would had at least 30 manuals to explain, but it’s a guidance book.
    I love from any one like James to make the 1/2 cows as one, or 100%, and we know cows inheritance value was only 50%, make it 100% my hero.

      No one is saying half a cow is 100% of a cow or that it's a whole cow.
      If all that was left as inheritance was half a cow and a headless chicken, those two things would be 100% of the inheritance.
      You don't need to ask if a headless chicken is 100% of a chicken because that's completely irrelevant lol

God bless all, alhamdulilah that gave me Noor of Islam.

      So Mr. Agnostic has brought us one of hundreds of possible cases where the total percentage of the inheritance shares is more or less than 100%.
      (In his case the proportion of shares were 2/3 for the daughters plus 1/3 for the parents plus 1/8 for the wife winch is equal to 112.5%).
      The Quran only needed few verses to give us the basis of dividing the inheritance and left the calculations for the Muslims to do. Ever since the days of followers of the prophet Mohammad PBUH, Muslims were using a mathematical method to calculate the share of each inheritor according to these verses (many Muslim countries around the world still use it btw).
      When the total of inheritance shares is more or less than 100%, we muslims use the following method:
      We add the fractions of each share. To do that we must have the same denominators:
      the share of the daughters 2/3 becomes 16/24
      the share of the parents 1/3 becomes 8/24
      the share of the wife 1/8 becomes 3/24
      the total becomes 27/24.
      In reality the total of shares must add up to 1 and in our case, we will use 27/27.
      To calculate each share we keep the same numerators from previous fractions before we put them above the denominator 27:
      The share of the daughters becomes 16/27 of the inheritance.
      The share of the parents becomes 8/27 of the inheritance.
      The share of the wife becomes 3/27 of the inheritance.
      The shares add up to 27/27 which is the total the inheritance.
      Easy.

      A simple example. Lets use a 2 : 1 : 9 ratio
      Person A gets 2 parts
      Person B gets 1 parts
      Person C gets 9 parts
      There are 12 parts shared between them, so the denominator is 12.
      Therefore;
      Person A gets -> 2/12
      Person B gets -> 1/12
      Person C gets -> 9/12
      If we want to get fractions involved its basically the same, but we have to find a common denominator* first.
      Lets use 2/3 : 1/9 : 4/6
      Person A gets 2/3 parts -> same as 12/18*
      Person B gets 1/9 parts -> same as 2/18*
      Person C gets 4/6 parts -> same as 12/18*
      There are (12+2+12=) 26 parts shared between them, so the new denominator is 26.
      Person A gets -> 12/26
      Person B gets -> 2/26
      Person C gets -> 12/26
      (Psst: We can cross out the "/18" because it becomes redundant when you write it out as 12/18 : 2/18 : 12/18. Its exactly the same as writing 12 : 2 : 12).

    on the other hand, inheritance is a %age n hence, a variable as it is dependent on the amount in consideration.
    both can not be compared. they are independent of one another.
    i think the point james is missing is that the things are sequential. they are in order n can be confused if all taken at once.

If you take 1/8, which is 12.50 out of it, you will have 87.50 pounds left. Then the 87.5 will be divided among the rest according to their ordained perscription, and the chart will look as follows;

      @@rayaldo100 Dear Ray, the topic in discussion isn’t whether the Qur’an is divinely inspired or manmade; hence, you have every right to believe whatever you want to believe. It’s simply whether the given estate of 100 pounds can be rightly distributed to those given people, according to the Qur’anic directives.
      First of all, the Qur’an gives variable dues to the inheritors. This means, the inheritors will get different amounts in different situation, and in some situation won’t get anything at all. Nonetheless, the wife, the children and the biological parents will always get their shares, though these shares except the wife’s, will vary from time to time.
      For example, in the case of no male children, but only one or two daughters, the share of the daughter will increase significantly. In the case of no children the parent’s share will increase too, but the share of the wife, which is 1/8 will always stay the same, and also she takes precedence from the two other groups followed by the children and then the parents.
      In this case, as usual, the wife will come first, and she will take her 1/8 share, followed by the two daughters with 1/3 each, followed by the two parents with 1/6 each.
      Wife 1/8 12.50

    *CLARIFICATION OF AYAT* *4:12**:*
    In "their share is a fourth, (4:12)" The husband takes a half of his deceased wife's property if she leaves no child, the rest going to residuaries; if she leaves a child, the husband gets only a fourth. Following the rule that the female share is generally half the male share, the widow gets a fourth of her deceased husband's property, if he leaves no children, and an eighth if he leaves children. If there are more widows than one, their collective share is a fourth or an eighth as the case may be.
    In "has left neither ascendants nor descendants, (4:12)" The word in Arabic is KALALAH, which is so construed usually. But it was nowhere defined authoritatively in the lifetime of the Messenger. This was one of the three terms about which Umar (The Prophet's second deciple) wished that the Messenger had defined them in his lifetime, the other two being KHILAFAH, and RIBA (usury). On the accepted definition, we are concerned with the inheritance of a person who has left no descendant or ascendant (however distant), but only collaterals, with or without a widow or widower. If there is a widow or widower surviving, she or he takes the share as already defined, before the collaterals come in.
    In "but has left a brother or a sister, (4:12)" A "brother or sister" is here interpreted to mean a uterine brother or sister, i.e., a brother or sister by the same mother but not by the same father, as the case of full brothers and sisters or brothers and sisters by the same father but different mothers is understood to be dealt with later, in the last verse of this Ayah (verse). The uterine brother or sister, if only one survives, takes a sixth, if more than one survives, they take a third collectively, and divide among themselves; this on the supposition that there are no descendants or ascendants, however remote. There may, however, be a widow or widower surviving: she or he takes her or his share, as already specified.
    The shares of collaterals generally are calculated on a complicated system which cannot be described in a brief note. For these, and the rules about residuaries (ASABA) references should be made to special legal treatises.
    In "after payment of legacies and debts; so that no loss is caused (to anyone). (4:12)" Debts (in which funeral expenses take first rank) and legacies are the first charge on the estate of a deceased person, before distribution takes place. But equity and fair dealing should be observed in all matters, so that no one's interests are prejudiced. Thus funeral expenses should be reasonable; debts must be genuine and not reckless debts; and teh shares must be calculated with fairness.

    Islam is taken through Quran and sunnah. Anything that is not detailed in Quran is explained inshallah in the sunnah. Ijtima is allowed in islam. Scholars are allowed to make fatwas and make laws regarding grey or undetailed areas. So... Its not actually a problem.

    Please correct me if I am wrong what I understood from James, he is Shocking man, he want QURAAN to be responsible for the debts of deceased because he left debt instead of inheritance, even hamza replied but he still want to hold on with his dogmatic understanding, this is a childish discussion from a man who is intellectually appeared intelligence, I only feel sorry for him and in the same time pray for him to come to his sense until unless he is brain washed and have an agenda.
    Now he goes back to his dark room to prepare for a next lies, they plan, and God plans, and God best planner who taken all these sub in to account.
    So if QURAAN was wrong, why that correction to correct Quran not executed, but it has been endorsed. Either he is a hypocrite, or Naif, or both, but surely not genuine?
    Blame QURAAN if some one died with more debt than inheritance, according to James QURAAN is wrong and responsible, there were far greater knowledgeable and intellectually more qualified than this child, they challenged the QURAAN and the prophet as James doing, lot of them in the end submitted to almighty God, it’s good if games read about them, surely he will be helped by the brothers in speaker corner.

    Actually the share of the two daughters is not fixed but 2/3 is a limit or a maximum because their share is variable and function of how many they are and how many are with them. The share of the mother is also variable depending on whether there are children or not - it varies between third without children or sixth with children. The father's share is fixed here 1/6. One woman or 4 women (wives) share is also fixed 1/8 in this case because he has children. Whatever remains is divided among the children within the limit of two thirds. If the remaining is more than 2/3 which it is not in this case - the girls take only 2/3 and the remainder goes to the father as the clan share.

    Bismillah, let's play with simple math. We will deal with representing one thing as more than 100% and divide it fairly.
    1 (one) bread will be distributed as:
    1/3 part for A
    2/3 part for B
    1/8 part for C
    then 1 bread is equal to 27/24, or 112.5%
    that means 100% of that bread becomes 24/27 of it's size.
    to distribute it, you slice the bread to 27 pcs.
    A gets 1/3 of 24/27 = 8 pcs
    B gets 2/3 of 24/27 = 16 pcs
    C gets 1/8 of 24/27 = 3 pcs
    no bread's left.
    simple math.

    I really like your videos but sometimes you guys end up just talking over each other and don't listen and then you cant give an answer at it's full potency.
    If you tell three people that each person has 50 % of a pizza that means they all have equal shares. That means you give them a 3rd each. I don't see what is complicated in that.
    There are many things that are not addressed directly in the Quran and that's why we have ijtihad. Which means making a logical decision based on the legislation available. So for example smoking is not addressed in the Quran, but we use the rule that we can't harm ourselves to know that smoking is haram.
    The Quran set the foundation for inheritance for the common situations. To list every single possible situation and divide it would need a whole book on its own. There will most likely always be a situation that isn't explicitly mentioned. But the foundation is there and logical reasoning and using the shares given you would just give everyone the equivalent of their share within the 100%. Imagine if the Quran tried to address every single variable of family structure and account for it? It's ridiculous. I'm sure there is more than just the one he mentioned. But the foundation is there and the ability to divide based on that foundation is extremely simple.

    about inheritance knowledge ('ilm waris) is the hardest part of fiqih, even imam of the madzhabs later on (khalaf/contemporary 'ulama of the 4 madzhab) acknowledge that this is the most hardest fiqh parts. that's why majority fiqh turats (fiqh books / kitabs) it always put on the end of the book.
    so if u got more question of this, dont answer it directly, but u need to learn any of inheritance condition, husband death, wife death, how many children, how many parents from husband and wife, how many wives he had, how many siblings, how many secondary family (uncle, aunt, etc)

    *Part 2 WHO AUTHORED THE QUR´AN???😂 of all the possible sources of the Quran, it is only the last alternative - God/ALLAH - who even claims in the Quran itself to be the author of the scripture, for the Quran is truly the spoken word of God.*
    As-salamu alaikum Brothers & Sisters! In examining (Video part 1&2) the possible source of the Quran we have covered the following points: *1. Muhammad’s being unlettered 2. Muhammad’s integrity 3. The Style of the Quran 4. Discrepancies between the Quran and the Bible 5. Quranic teachings about Satan and about morality, and 6. The Quran’s factual contents and scientific information.* God: In the absence of any more acceptable alternative as source and author of the Quran, one is more or less forced by reason to accept the Quran for what it claims to be - revelation from God through His Prophet Muhammad. This position seems reasonable not just because it is the only option that cannot be objectively eliminated, but because it is only reasonable to expect that a book with such qualities and contents would come from man’s Creator and Guide. Of all the possible sources of the Quran, it is only the last alternative - God - who even claims in the Quran itself to be the author of the scripture, for the Quran is truly the spoken word of God. The position, therefore, which holds that God is the author and source of the Quran still stands, and the challenge (or falsification test, Q.4:82) remains open to anyone to disprove the Quran’s claim to being revelation from God. Having undertaken this task ourselves, the Muslim’s contention that the Quran is the Word of God appears not just a product of blind faith but, in fact, a product of very sound and reasoned judgment in light of all the available evidence. Indeed, after having assessed the evidence, it would be blind faith to contend otherwise! Note that the evidence for the Divine Authorship of the Quran is also evidence for the existence of the Divine. God must exist, unless a more reasonably acceptable author of the Quran can be found! Salam!

      All four Gospels record Jesus as saying, *_"Blessed are the peace-makers; they will be called sons of God._* The word *son* cannot be accepted literally because in the Bible, God apparently addresses many of his chosen servants as *son* and *sons.* The Hebrews believed God is One, and had neither wife nor children in any literal sense. Therefore, it is obvious the expression *son of God* merely meant *Servant of God;* one who, because of faithful service, was close and dear to God as a son is to his father. Christians who came from a Greek or Roman background, later misused this term. In their heritage, ‘son of God’ signified an incarnation of a god or someone born of a physical union between male and female gods. This can be seen in *Acts 14: 11-13,* where we read that when Paul and Barnabas preached in a city of Turkey, pagans claimed they were gods incarnate. They called Barnabas the Roman god Zeus, and Paul the Roman god Hermes. Furthermore, the New Testament Greek word translated as *son* are *pias* and *paida* which mean *servant,* or *son in the sense of servant.* These are translated to *son* in reference to Jesus and *servant* in reference to all others in some translations of the Bible. So, consistent with other verses, Jesus was merely saying that he is God’s servant. Even though the Bible has been changed, yet there exists clear and explicit verses that show that Jesus is not God. *90 VERSES SAYS: JESUS IS NOT GOD!!!! ;-)* Salam!

      *Did Jesus’ flesh dwell in safety after his death?* Unless Jesus’ body never underwent *decay* during his lifetime he could not be God, but if it did not undergo *decay* then he was not truly human. *Bible says that God is not man* God is not a man
      *(Numbers **23:19**)* For I am God, and not man *(Hosea 11:9)* Jesus is called a man many times in the Bible a man who has told you the truth’ *(John **8:40**)* Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know.’ (Acts 2:22) ‘He will judge the world in righteousness through a man whom He has appointed’ (Acts 17:31) ‘the man Christ Jesus’ (Tim. 2:5) *The Bible says that God is not a son of man* God is not a man nor a son of man’ (Numbers 23:19) The Bible often calls Jesus ‘a son of man’ or ‘the son of man.’ ‘so will the son of man be’ (Matthew 12:40) ‘For the son of man is going to come’ (Matthew 16:27) ‘until they see the son of man coming in His kingdom.’ (Matthew 28) ‘But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority’ (Mark 2:10) ‘because he is the son of man’ (John 5:27) In the Hebrew scriptures, the ‘son of man’ is also used many times speaking of people (Job 25:6; Psalm 80:17; 144:3; Ezekiel 2:1; 2:3; 2:6-8; 3:1-3). Since God would not contradict Himself by first saying He is not the son of a man, then becoming a human being who was called ‘the son of man’, he would not have done so. Remember God is not the author of confusion. Also, human beings, including Jesus, are called ‘son of man’ specifically to distinguish them from God, who is not a ‘son of man’ according to the Bible. Salam!
