- Bikes can take up an unreasonable amount of floor space, while being a nuisance to navigate around. Bicycle wall storage is definitely the BEST option for your garage or home office as it gets them off the floor and out of the way. These wall mounted bicycle racks also allow for more bikes to be placed onto the wall than a traditional horizontal hanging hook, with less space being taken up than vertical hanging bikes.
I used these mounts:

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!!! This was my exact idea on how to store our bike collection in my garage. I'm so glad to hear that someone else considered the tall order of moar bikes, looking good, and not sticking out from the wall too much, as well as not hanging them upside-down (which I believe isn't good for bikes with hydraulic disc brakes).
Also your thumbnail looks much better and more official then usual. I think it is worth the extra time
I actually bought just one recently after you mentioned it in a previous video. I love how it looks. I have just 1 bmx bike up there so it’s easy to take down and looks good
Storage & space saving info is always appreciated !!
I put together a similar system, and yes, the exact spacing is bike dependent. I have a 9' ceiling to work with, so it's easy to make three bikes fit vertically; I just have to put certain bikes in certain spots once the brackets are attached. Tip: Arrange to put the lightest bike, or the one you ride the least, on top. You're welcome.
Super helpful video. Much appreciated. Trying to get all these bikes on the wall in the garage instead of having them hang from the ceiling with a Hook.
This is a suuuuuuuuuuper clean solution. I'm inspired!! Thanks Eric!
This was very helpfull im looking at the same bicycle mounts now. They are the most compact I've found so far.
That helped me a lot with my storage problem. Thanks.
Love the happy faces on the pedal holder. 😁
Nice idea! Would love to try this!
Another nice video as usual now just do the same thing in the shed !
You, my friend, just saved my marriage! (Little exaggeration but point still stands, awesome suggestion)
love those mounts
got 4 of them now
Ordered from your link. Thanks for the tip.
Thats looking hella sick
oh my that's super nice
Eric, have you seen the Rubbermade "Fast Track" mounting system for garages? Used two of the 48" rails with the bike hooks to hang seven bikes vertically in my room. Bet it would be great in the shed for saving some floor space. its super modular and when tied to studs, its super solid!
Cool set up ❤️
Looks awesome
I think it would look really nice if you put up another one of the pedal bike holders behind your desk and used the ledge to support the wheels. Just a thought
very good and practical shelves
Got me inspired to do something about mine
Very nice!
I vote for a shed renovation series 👌👌👌
I have the same type of hanging rack up in my garage, works perfectly!
nice! a few bikes stacked up?
@@Spindatt I’m just a single bike owner 😂 but I have it up high so there’s more space around my car. Really saved a lot of space
invert some old dropbars on a mount to be the holder for a top tube.
If you don't mind having bikes not vertically aligned, could put the pedal holder in area between BB and front wheel of the upper bike - so you could fit 5, probably 6, bikes on the wall. Also, do you plan to fill the corner left to them with some tall narrow cupboard for parts?
Side note: idk how you've managed to keep coming up with funny AF new "Subscribe or I will......" comments at the end of every video.....
I figured you would have run out of ideas....hahahaha
Love it!
there is always something ridiculous to say after listening to myself for 3 or 4 hours! haha
Bottom bike wheels could be touching the floor instead of on those angle brackets giving you another 5" to move all 3 down.
I have the same tshirt. Its cool! (Cough cool!)
I like this idea very much🙂
I'm glad!
The reason the "old fixed gear frame" doesn't look good on the ledge is because it's screaming for a Tinker Tuesday build!
Sangat bermanfaat buat ku man
I liked the original set up! The Cinelli in the middle was attention grabbing!
And you could put the Spindatt logo behind the desk!
Did you disregard studs for the tire brackets ? Looks like the screw holes are too wide to hit studs
I purchased this after seeing this video. I got it to work. Three bikes in a wall. I end up making a lot of holes in my walls figuring it out as I went like in this video.
Lol no, there are patches and holes EVERYWHERE
Can the bike roll of the wall mounts that hold the wheels? Like if someone bumps into one and pushes it forward or back?
I think those fit only certain bike. After the set up. It only fit the bike that you set up for. It won’t fit a smaller bike onto that right ?
maybe the answer for that 'Sat at the computer' backdrop is to rest the wheels on the ledge and use a pedal hook bracket, like the set of three on the other wall, to hang the pedal off... basically replacing the little tyre shelves with the big ledge/shelf that you have there?
I was gonna say the exact same thing and figured out someone would have commented before me, so here we are !
Best solution imo, but it puts the bike a bit high in the picture I guess.. It's still a compromise that works nicely.
Very smart solution to store ur bikes !!! ... but on which wall are you going to put that SPINDATT logo ?
Wouldn’t it make more sense to hang the bike by the seat post instead of the top tube?…..like when doing maintenance
Hi man. I have a question. So i have a wallmount already fixed, but the tires need to go against the wall (they hang above my head right now). Could you pretty please tell me how to fix that the tires are close to the wall? So again i have my mount (BBB Cycling WallMount Deluxe), tires hanging now... Makes me go nuts 🤣
Is that way safe for bike pedals? If yes, that’s the best storage solution I’ve ever seen!
At 5:10 , just level your frame, pop in a seat and paint some forks/bars & wheels etc for background. Sorted.
That 2x4 rack wants to be about another 2-3" away from the left wall. Also, either run the end board over the whole width, or put a fascia on it; the old-beater-dimensional-lumber-end-grain look is not what you're going for. (If nothing else, paint is cheap, and you gotta do the holes on the other wall anyway.
How many inches are in between each pedal that on the wall?
So how do I grab the bike at the top when there´s two underneath???? I can do it but can my gf do it?
DIY content (bike related, in one way or the other.... or even not at all) is going to be fun, imho.
Could you hang the cinelli from the ceiling? Some kind of hooks attaching to the bar and seat? 🤷♂️😅
Or hang the bike upside down in some weird way 👀
I am curious how your bike storage is now?
At least the pedal bracket matches the underside of your Vigorelli !
If You would make your own top hanger, slightly longer, then it would fit bigger bikes..
I’m new on hanging heavy stuff on dry wall. What are the top recommendations when Installing this hanger? Would the wall be strong enough or do I need to look for the stubs?
I put them right into the studs
I would have sat the tires on the ledge and made something simular to the pedal mount out of wood or what have you.
Looks great. I hope the landlord agrees. 😂
🔥
I’m just here for the ending comments. Always winning.
that felt with the campy is tidy,
Brackets are great, but the bikes are very cool!
I'd paint that computer backdrop wall a dark color to make the bike pop!
is that palsterboard wall?
Looks like you got them off of amazon. The Chinese hangers are not all that great. Check out DaHanger, he was the original inventor and producer of this wall mount system.
Some of the reviews for those pedal mounts say that they do not work well with spd pedals. What are your thoughts about stability of bikes using mountain bike SPD as well as Shimano road pedals. I really want these to be good but my bikes will be hanging over my future wife's car in the garage and I can't have them falling on her ride.
The cheap Chinese knock-offs most likely will fall off because they're made from cheap metal and only have two mounting holes. The original USA made product from DeHANGER is much better quality and will not rip out of the wall. Here's a video he made comparing the real ones to the knock-offs: czcams.com/video/mvDKx5Q-ij0/video.html
Hey, I was just wondering, don't you think hanging the bikes from the pedal might cause unwanted stress in the bottom bracket on the long run ? I know bb's sustain a lot of stress while pedaling, but still, I'm not sure I'd do this with my bike.
You would think so, but bottom brackets are the strongest part of the bike and are built to withstand a lot of force. When you pedal hard, you're applying about 2.5x your weight to this area of the bike.
Really was hoping for tips and tricks on the mount system. cool story. Still let down.
Right on time. Just realized I have 0 indoor space from this seasons craigslist pickups...
New to cycling here. Is winter the time when people start offloading bikes?
@@ItsJacare winter is the time when people who are selling bikes are looking to buy a new one for the season
Wheel storage next
How does the 3 bike stack storage hook work with mountain bikes? with wide bars 700 or 800?
Not sure, I haven't tried, but you would likely need to give more space between bikes to give room for bars and wheels. My guess is with my ceiling height it would only be feasible with 2
I was about to pull the trigger on these but realized via CZcams they are a China knock off of the original "DaHanger" product. Looks like they work pretty well but I'm going to spend the extra to support Dan's small business. Check those out if you get a chance!
EXACTLY!
This doesn’t create stress on the pedal? Like all the weight on it all the time
no. standing on pedals once creates 1000x more stress than hanging off a wall on it's own weight ever will
Are there any plans for more live streams on the channel once the office is finished?
should be
What is truly amazing..... is that she tolerates bikes in the house at all? If you tend to ride the bikes frequently..... bringing them in and out of the house....... it never really works well storing bikes inside.... too much dirt ...too many arguments. ...too much damage to the walls....? But it does look cool and it was a good video.
Hello, where can we buy the hardware for this kind of cycle storage
There is a link in the video description
Ok, so when you have the Cinelli on top, the red/yellow specialized in the middle and red/white specialized with the black bar tape on bottom... do you have to remove the middle bike in order to access the fixed gear?
7:00... YES! Quicker access to the fixed gear!
lol enjoying this exchange.
yes the top bike is a challenge to access, so i pull the second bike out. its still pretty quick
@@Spindatt so that is the bikeriser rack, correct? im buying another bike and keep it/them in my bedroom. I have a clug and one bike, but i need to get them up off floor if i have 2.
Do you have to drive the screw into the. Stud?
Yes I did. I’ve put different bikes on at different spots with general success
Looks good👍, but 25$ for some sheet and having to measure 3 pieces, putting 6! Screws in, is a bit annoying. Wouldn´t vertical wall mounts save more Space??🤔
vertical mounts would have them sticking super far into the room, and get in the way of accessing the closet door in the corner. I bet I could get maybe 3 bikes in there vertically.. but more floor space used and it'd look terrible as a wall piece.
I've also considered making them myself but quickly lost that idea know I don't have a press break or even a vice to bend sheet metal with haha!
@@Spindatt True, seems like you picked the right choice then for your setup!
Got a decent workout while making this vid.
white wall+bikes a good idea?
mr clean magic erase
The pedal rack is smiling at me
My 2 cents worth........Paint the lower half of the wall behind the desk an accent color maybe add your logo. Keep the upper half white and clean to showcase different bikes.
Just put the lowest bike wheels on the floor, 4 inches more space more space for the top bike.
Put a chair on the wall and you'll save even more space. Do the vlog from the cool wall!
lol floating chair coming right up
Should be easy to replicate those brackets but not the smiley faces. Maybe a Spindatt sticker would be redemption.
I agree they'd be easy to make! though raw material and my time were worth more than just buying them
For someone who says they don't clean their bikes, those in the office look pretty clean.......I would guess Angela had something to do with that.
The first bike you attempted to put on top, why didn't you just lower the seat it would have worked
Let the air out of the tyre and it would fit, no? :)
Couldn’t you have just lowered your seat while it’s stored?
Drop the saddle!!!
you underestimate my lack of motivation to do that every time
Check out DaHANGER it is USA made.
You are not! getting your security deposit back LOL
That’s how I did mine until I had to give up my “bike room” for kid #2
Don't we all have to do that sometime? Lol
The wall mounts look like EggBeaters need not apply
my thought exactly!
I'm surprised you didn't just fit longer crank arms - come on!
How about guitar storage? - only if you play guitar.
Cut a hole in the ceiling... lol then you can fit any bike up there...
considered this. Angela knocked it down.
"measure twice, drill once!!"
lol those words never came out of my mouth
@@Spindatt it's a mantra I was saying to myself a month or so ago as we did some decorating at home.... Didn't want the plasterboard/drywall to resemble Swiss cheese at the end of the project!! 😂
"IF I HAD AN INCH"
- he
Problem solved !!!
Just curious how these knock-off versions have held up since you installed them. Are they still holding in the drywall and keeping their shape okay? Asking because the inventor of the original (DeHANGER) has tested his product, which is much better quality, against a lot of the knock-offs and there's a pretty big difference. He's got a video on his channel about it here: czcams.com/video/mvDKx5Q-ij0/video.html
they are holding up completely fine, with zero issues whatsoever
@@Spindatt cool, thanks. I saw in other comments you were fortunate enough to be able to go into the studs. The reason I asked is because many people who can't go into the studs and have to rely on drywall anchors have not been so lucky with the knock-offs. But I appreciate the reply!
