BEST garage/office space saving bicycle wall storage.

  • Bikes can take up an unreasonable amount of floor space, while being a nuisance to navigate around. Bicycle wall storage is definitely the BEST option for your garage or home office as it gets them off the floor and out of the way. These wall mounted bicycle racks also allow for more bikes to be placed onto the wall than a traditional horizontal hanging hook, with less space being taken up than vertical hanging bikes.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!!! This was my exact idea on how to store our bike collection in my garage. I'm so glad to hear that someone else considered the tall order of moar bikes, looking good, and not sticking out from the wall too much, as well as not hanging them upside-down (which I believe isn't good for bikes with hydraulic disc brakes).

I put together a similar system, and yes, the exact spacing is bike dependent. I have a 9' ceiling to work with, so it's easy to make three bikes fit vertically; I just have to put certain bikes in certain spots once the brackets are attached. Tip: Arrange to put the lightest bike, or the one you ride the least, on top. You're welcome.

That 2x4 rack wants to be about another 2-3" away from the left wall. Also, either run the end board over the whole width, or put a fascia on it; the old-beater-dimensional-lumber-end-grain look is not what you're going for. (If nothing else, paint is cheap, and you gotta do the holes on the other wall anyway.

Just curious how these knock-off versions have held up since you installed them. Are they still holding in the drywall and keeping their shape okay? Asking because the inventor of the original (DeHANGER) has tested his product, which is much better quality, against a lot of the knock-offs and there's a pretty big difference. He's got a video on his channel about it here: czcams.com/video/mvDKx5Q-ij0/video.html

@@Spindatt cool, thanks. I saw in other comments you were fortunate enough to be able to go into the studs. The reason I asked is because many people who can't go into the studs and have to rely on drywall anchors have not been so lucky with the knock-offs. But I appreciate the reply!
