  • Nissan altima evap leak P0456. Checking the purge valve and vent valve by putting power in to see if the valve opens and closes.
    Purge valve are close at all time, only purge when it needs to.
    Vent valve are open all time, letting the vapor out when it is filter enough (clean).

    Great video bro. I got a 2016 that’s doing the same thing. Gotta change the gas cap

    I change my purge valve today, and replaced the gas cap. Lights still on! I guess it’s the vent canister valve.

    If the car is 2010 or newer, the dtc code falls in the permanent code list and must be repaired correctly and driven until it removes by itself from the permanent code list, to smog the vehicle

    • @Ah_Duuu_Ma
      @Ah_Duuu_Ma  Před 2 měsíci

      Permanent means its been store permanently till you fix the problem, after repaired clear codes. Drive around 80 to 100miles to complete the driving cycle to do smog.

    My car is making a ticking on the vapor purge valve on my 3.5 2010 altima could that be the issue

    • @Ah_Duuu_Ma
      @Ah_Duuu_Ma  Před 2 lety

      Ticking is normal, as long as no check engine light.

    Did it end up actually being the vent valve on the charcoal canister not the gas cap or the purge valve?

    • @Ah_Duuu_Ma
      @Ah_Duuu_Ma  Před 7 měsíci

      I did the evap smoke test on the system, no leak. Just a gas cap.

    Can it pass emission test if the code is clear, without replacing anything.

    • @Ah_Duuu_Ma
      @Ah_Duuu_Ma  Před 7 měsíci

      It WILL NOT PASS emission. When check engine light is on, the code has been stored in the ecm (computer memory) can't be clear even if you clear or disconnect the battery. After you clear without fixing, you can't do emission because you have to complete the driving cycle (100 miles on the odometer) so you can do emission. Have to fix the problem, not clear.

    Hello bro I hope you answer my question so the problem on my car is the Control valve so my question is
    When I put air in it should on the other side the air go out.?

      @Ah_Duuu_Ma  Před rokem

      You mean you put smoke through the purge valve or you blow air through it?

    Great video but simply clearing the code doesn't show that it's fixed. The car still has to go through thr drive cycle and the engine has to reflect that the problem is no longer present.

    • @Assasain31
      @Assasain31 Před rokem +1

      Well, the EVAP system is only composed of a few components. Purge, vent, charcoal, filler neck, vent line, etc. He verified the purge solenoid is good, so lets move to the back, verified gas cap is faulty ( clue number 1), verified vent valve is in good shape, o ring not deteriorated, no smoke coming from any other lines and hoses. I will rather have this gentleman wrench on my personal cars than 90% of other technicians, due to the fact that he diagnosed the vehicle properly, instead of just throwing parts at it.

      Evap code shouldn't affect the drivabilty, if the car is driving slow then its a different problem.

      Use a code reader to clear it. Go to oreilys or autozone, they clear it for free.

    There is a DTC bulletin for Nissan. The o-Ring around the valve is determined to go bad. It says to ONLY replace the o-ring. Ugly link, I apologize
