Great job making an app that requires those to show in person to rate a restaurant. Yelp and others have something going on that you’re doing better, good job daym

The problem I have with Yelp, you have people on there who has never been to a restaurant making bad reviews. Maybe because is family member had a bad experience so they feel like they have to bash the restaurant. You also have people that might I’ve had one tiny bad experience and boom, end of the world. Like my man here left a legit review. Yeah there was some issues, but still showed the restaurant respect.
Uncle Phil seriously can't expect bad food when he's talking to a big camera and the Chinese guy saw it.
Plus the restaurants empty again so it's easier to cook and serve one person.
Plus in anouther restaurant uncle Phil only got served within 7 minutes because someone recognised him,
or else it would have been a longer wait.
So how can he give a good honest review? He can't in my opinion.

@@kevglass4924 And he went at opening. If he went at night at the time of other time of other reviewers it would have been a more reliable reviews. The difference between a good restaurants and a bad one is often the quality of the food towards the end of business hours.
Unfortunately negative reviewers are 90% more likely to leave a review than the customers that are happy with their food.

Yes people that had a bad experience start getting fired up and run to Yelp to try and “get back” at the restaurant because they felt slighted or wronged. People that have a satisfying or good experience just go about their day and come back to the restaurant
The ones that enrage me the most are the people who leave 1 star reviews beginning with "I've eaten here many times but after today I'll never come back." This is so completely unfair to the establishment UNLESS you spoke with a manager/owner and they were nasty or didn't want to help correct the situation. And asking you up wear a mask in their PRIVATE business doesn't count! I think all reviews with the word mask in them (unless it's referring to employees not wearing them) should be deleted.
@@kuyuke You're so right with your first sentence. Those people don't leave reviews for all the times they were satisfied but one bad experience and the restaurant gets bad rep without any mention of the positive experiences.
The walk away is always funny in CZcams videos because you know they had to turn around and get the camera.

If all the reviews on your restaurant/product are negative then there’s obviously a problem on your end. Tell me you never leave reviews without telling me you never leave reviews

I feel like some restaurants that have poor reviews aren’t bad, but are just really average so most people only post a review to complain about a poor experience.
Exactly.. with anything, bad reviews are much more common than good reviews. If something works as advertised, most people just go on with their life.
Sometimes it is Yelp they would take out good ratings if the restaurant refuse to pay for an ad.
Lots of bad reviews are also false. Its hard to trust reviews.
That’s why it’s really hard for managers to schedule correctly because they have to actually watch their waiters and waitresses at work instead of just taking reviews as law. I mean yes lots of bad reviews is an indicator of bad service but for the most part people only leave reviews if they had bad service and don’t ever report having a good time so it should be taken with a grain of salt
Gonna say this again, leave the same review on Yelp. That'll help the restaurant there too. I look at most recent reviews to see if the place has changed. Keep up the great videos!

Exactly. Even if you don't know him, they know this is a serious set up for a food review. Also it's usually dead inside these places when he goes, the rush hours show the true commitment to quality.

Daym should show the counter, and back kitchen if it's open. These days (especially after last year) just because it's dead inside *doesn't* mean it isn't rush hour.
Chinese place where I'm at called Apple Palace always looks totally dead but if you look at the counter around 12-1 the door dash/grubhub orders are 40-60 cartons deep. That one hour probably covers the entire rest of the day.
Pure carry/take out seems to be most common with non Japanese asian restaurants (especially the "holy trinity" of Chinese/Thai/Vietnamese), greek, and west African.
I think Daym should hide the filming stuff cause resturants might just be cooking great cause the waiter or manager sees a camera rolling. I think he should start filming after he puts in his order when it comes to these worst restaurant reviews

Been going here since it opened when I was a kid. Now I go with my husband and son. I swear the food hasn’t changed.
My husband and I have been here dozens of times. Never disappointed. It's more of an old school Chinese joint but sometimes you just crave that nostalgic taste. Bob the waiter is awesome and is one of the reasons we keep going back. They have a decent dim sum on the weekends. Definitely worth it to try it out!
My fav is the PuPu Platter. All my favs in 1 place. ❤
I love how fair this guy is, he's not afraid to defend the worst rated restaurants in his area.
I think when your reviewing places like this you should order and get the food before pulling out or showing the cameras. I feel like once they see cameras they wouldn't do what they normally do so in case it's a review online.

I'm really digging the format of the new season. It really helps to show the restaurant as a whole over just service and food so it shows the areas they need to approve. Keep up the great work!

I used to work at a bowling alley along time ago when the audit comes everything was slick and span lol. We were cleaning in places we didn’t even know existed lol.

The only real way to know if going by yourself and just trying it. If it's bad that business won't survive long at all.
I have had bad experiences even at good restaurants I try go give a chance or two before I quit.
Real reviews are hard to comeby even on some products.

Egg foo young is meant to be smothered in that delicious gravy. That's what completes the dish. Stunned that you never had this most popular of American Chinese dishes before. Oh, and a little soy sauce on top doesn't hurt either.

That's why you know you can trust Daym Drops' reviews: he's right at the restaurant when he reviews the food, and right after he eats it, too. Not just some rando who finds one bad fry in the pile and just wrongfully judges the restaurant to oblivion.

@@sanane66543 I'm not talking about the consistency of the restaurant. I'm talking about exaggerated and dishonest reviews online. If more people would do more honest reviews like this then maybe other small-time restaurants will actually get a fair shot. Because believe me: I've actually given a lot of "worst-rated" restaurants in our area a shot, and the food is not as bad as the reviews make it seem. The service could be subpar but NOT horrible. A buncha drama queens if you ask me.

I love your reviews, but it seems like you always go really early. I understand why you probably do that, but I don't think being the first customer of the day is really going to give you a representative example of the restaurant at work. I'd like to see you go at the end of the lunch run, or later during dinner.

My little brother delivers for a Chinese restaurant; and the reason why they try not to take orders in.the last 45 minutes is because of how much bs they get from it. Whenever someone orders late, everyone has to stay back, so if they don't order a lot It simply isn't worth the cooks dirtying everything up again and having EVERYONE stay back. But I guess most people, unless they've worked in food, would just get mad they couldn't get a late meal. Also, thanks for the reviews fam, I love these videos. Obviously they're doing good, you can hear the phone!
Then they should change the restaurant's hours to close earlier. If everyone wants to get out by 10 P.M., it makes no sense to stay open until 10 P.M. and just hope that no customers come in during the last hour. If everyone wants to get out by 10 P.M., then close the restaurant at 9 P.M.

I'm pretty sure he's using his phone camera. I'm still going to have to agree because, he's talking to the camera and everything I wouldn't be surprised if out of his looks alone they would recognize him.

Definitely need to treat your reviews like a blinded clinical trial being done for a pharmaceutical company. You're far too recognizable for the possibility of restaurateur bias not to be an issue. I've worked in the industry years ago in HS and college; front of house always told the kitchen who were the priority tables & we were always expected to make that customer's order "special" - larger servings, freshly prepared, and ahead of other customers.

I'm glad the app has an "allergy-friendly" question, but it should have a "don't know" option because many people aren't going to know that. It would be very useful information if it were reliable, but if people are just guessing, it's worse than useless. There's a lot of food that the average person would guess is allergy safe, but actually isn't.

Don’t trust this! First off, he’s using a tripod setup which screams professional. Secondly, DD got visibility and recognition EVERYWHERE! You’d be very stupid to not show out once he come around. Thirdly, he didn’t call them on the phone.

Not necessarily. The best restaurants where I grew up were almost always empty because they mostly served takeout. Regulars would call ahead or have certain times they'd come in & their food would be ready to go. I usually ate at my local Korean food place & rarely saw anyone yet they'd been successful for decades.

Daym I have a suggestion for your future food reviews. Maybe you should allow someone else to go in and place the orders for you. This will give a level playing field. Most places will see your face and make sure they serve you the best food and give the greatest service. You are well known my man!🤷🏾♂️😂😂
Daym, my dude - i know you do your thang but you cant be going to worse rated places in the first few hours. The stank shines through as the day goes on which would likely explain the dark oil one customer mentioned. First thing in the day is no way to hit up peeps for reviews because everyone with SOME decency is going to prep for the start of the day. However its the followthrough that needs to be kept an eye on.
