Here we are, just a year after the first news of the coronavirus we now call SARS-CoV-2 and the global pandemic known as COVID-19… and scientists have already developed more than one safe & effective vaccine. How did they do that so quickly? I visited the lab whose work directly led to these first COVID vaccines, so you can learn how basic research connects to life-saving medicine. This is how to make a COVID-19 vaccine.

You could consider something like the Spanish flu(H1N1 virus), that killed upwards of 40 million people in two years only ~100 years ago.

Such a fantastic video, thank you! I get really emotional thinking about how much we are capable of solving huge problems if we really put our minds to it. Very grateful to all the scientists, researchers, health workers, and so many more people, who have put in such a tremendous amount of hard work into developing and distributing vaccines in record time.

I learned a lot of this back during my undergraduate Biochemistry course, now after 3-4 years of working I’m going back with a passion to get my PhD

The Cyclical Consumption is the current economy all over the World. It is making the scarcity problems of the earth finite resources to deteriorate day by day. Current Monetary System is legalised theft. Real money is Gold and Silver. Scarcity gives the money more value. Real money won't lose it's value. When Governments stay away from Gold & Silver then very easy to transfer the wealth / resources to upper class the Rich (Corporatocracy) Elite. When the Governments are printing out more new fiat currency with reserve banks, our old currency is losing its purchasing power everyday. They are printing millions of currency everyday. All governments and laws are existing right now to transfer wealth to upper class the rich elite. The USA Government & other Governments are in many countries, bailed the investment banks & financial institutions in 2008 against the majority of the people. There is no democracy in any countries. Because of the Money System based on profits motive only above all else even humans lives and well-being. So, we do not have freedom to protect our values with the money so on. The violence, bankruptcy & all the negativities are build into the Monetary System of our society. All are owned (including ourselves) by Reserve Bank. Which is private cartel the corporation. So, in legal system, we are legally considered as chattel the properties. They make money in the capital markets with our birth certificates. They do not consider us as Humans. That's the truth. We are at the invisible war with the Elites (Corporatocracies). We have to fight for our Freedom. Resource Based Economy is the Solution. Truth About Health/Drugs Industry Because Of It Your Life At High Risk The drug industry is a 1/2 trillion dollars a year worldwide conglomerate. Almost 300 billions dollars just in North America. That is really big business. What would happen if everyone were well? There is no money in health. You see, good health makes a lot of sense but it doesn't make a lot of dollars. Because everything they do is toxic. Every drug they use, prescription drugs, all drugs are liver toxic, bar none. If you've had amalgam fillings put in your mouth by dentists. It is highly toxic. The more work they get, the more profit there is. The ones that are already dead have been grossly mistreated by the medical profession and by the government that supposedly is supposed to encourage free research and development of all possibilities. Why would medical doctors who studied medicine and practice medicine and are heavily funded by pharmaceutical companies why would they go and look into vitamins? That they never had the answer orthomolecular. And as more and more of our population start taking their health into their own hands, there's going to be even more and more of changes. 😊 Well, I truly love God. I am not religious but very spiritual person. So, I believe 1) Religion is the beliefs in someone experiences But spirituality is having my own experiences. The mainstream religions people promote religious ideology by giving guidelines and guide but In my spiritual life; I do not want anyone or anything between God and me to restrict my freedom to worship God. 2) We do not need any authorities to do good work. The god work is the good work always. In contrast; organised mainstream religions are claiming that they have the authorities to do God works as leaders so on. 3) God is not capable of doing wrong thing, change the past for us and create anything out of nothing for us. Nothing means not anything. So, even God is limited. So, How can god punish us for all our consequences? The mainstream religious people believe we are full of sins because of all our actions. 5) Freewill is an illusion. People always choose the perceived path of greatest pleasure. So, we do not have choices all the time. In contrast teachings of the mainstream religions are promoting people to do god's will always because we all have choices of freewill always. 6) We can not separate everything into groups. So, everything for good and evil and there's no success and failure for everything. If everything is real then real things can not be threatened. Once you come to understand that God/The Holy Spirit is in each of us, You will no longer need a Book to tell you how to live. Then why we need religious scriptures? The Virtue is the expression of the basic goodness in our actions. The Basic goodness is the fundamental worthiness of every individuals. We are worthy to God always in everything. 7) Beliefs in a cruel God makes a cruel man. No matter what; every living creatures has the right to live and What makes their life cheap? Everything depends on everything. Nothing too big or too small in value. We can not love and hate at the same time; Being a vegetarian means love without cruelty happily. The mainstream religious people are killing people and sacrificing animals in the name of God. They promote God's cruel punishments. The Punishment is endless for Sinners/Devil according to religious scriptures. But God is love always. Overcome hate with love. If all religions for peace, unity? No way. Because they are not for peace. 8) Well, The God gave us everything to go from moment to moment in our lives as we do our part and pray only to thank god then the Love is in progress. The Love is always for everyone. We are always worthy of the God's love. Our greatest fear is; not to be loved by anyone but we are all loved by someone. @@minstrelofMir "testing" isn't quite the word I would use. We will be monitoring it for years to come.
But the overwhelming majority of vaccine side-effects happen quickly, within the first days and weeks. And the overwhelming majority of serious side-effects happen within hours or days. We have thoroughly tested for these side-effects.
And looking at the big picture, this virus uses an adeno-associated virus shell to deliver a piece of mRNA. Your body is REALLY good at disposing of virus shells and recycling mRNA. The vaccine will be completely gone from your body within, oh probably less than 4 days. I feel FAR better about these new, cleaner vaccines than the ones we used to use 20+ years ago when we used chemical adjuvants live viruses and hoped for the best.
The main concern is how your immune system reacts. We WANT your immune system to take the vaccine seriously and develop strong antibodies against it. But if your immune system reacts _too_ strongly, it will give you aches, fever, fatigue, inflammation, swelling, etc. Those are natural side-effects caused by your immune system, and they mean the vaccine is working.
But...complications happen. If your immune system is pre-disposed to react poorly, then in extreme cases you could be bedridden for days, go into anaphylactic shock, or have an auto-immune attack. These things have happened, but they are not life threatening so long as you get medical attention (for example, an epi-pen for anaphylactic shock)

The reason why the pharmaceutical industry doesn't just make a cure 'once and for all' is because diseases evolve, and so do our cures. We can't just make a really well made cure for it to be obsolete in a couple of decades. For example, you can't fight a tank with the world's best sword, we have to evolve! Now back to the original point, simply hoping for the best won't cure us, sure, the disease might disappear, but it'll take the lives of thousands with it, and with no vaccine, the disease might pop back up. These labs use state of the art machinery to achieve this goal, while you simply google stuff and pray. Picture this: your car has broken down in the middle of nowhere. Are you gonna call your insurance company and let the pros handle it or are you just gonna pray that the car fixes itself? Same thing. So stop with your rambling and give a concrete answer. I don't want a 1000 word text with endless yada-yada-yada, I want a short answer. Do you trust the professionals who've dedicated their work to making a vaccine or are you gonna make a google search, pray and call it a day?

I trust experts opinions ( medical scientists and researchers), it’s the same when i’m in my domain of expertise I provide the solution I believe is the best for users. so to be honest with you I just can’t wait to have my vaccines, one more one less it won’t change much since i’m still going to die one day. but with the vaccine at least i’ll feel better psychologically
@Alive Minds Run So a couple of things, first of all flu vaccines are effective around 50 - 60%. Second of all every year there is a "flu" but it doesn't have to be from the same family, that means that one year we might have a flu from a certain family and the next year we might have a flu from another family. Third of all, these vaccines were made in a very different way, mrna, and if you have watched the video you would have known why we had vaccines so fast (a lot of funding, a lot of people volunteering for vaccines trials, new technology and past knowledge about previous coronavirus epidemics), and the virus has a very slow rate of mutation, and each mutation doesn't have to be more effective at becoming another epidemic.
So how is this spike any different than recovering from the actual virus? You body still learns how to fight the virus.
The real heros are not the one in midst of the limelight, but, one who is sitting inside the walls working for the better. Imagine a world without these geniuses.

Using mRNA in order to “give instructions” to our cells to “create” our own spike protein is very dangerous science, not “AWESOME”. That just reflects the ignorance of some people regarding science and medicine. “Hi-Jacking” our immune system in order to create antigen-like proteins expressed in our membrane cells is pretty nuts! Who can assure me that they will not inject genes to do more than create a surface protein? It is very dangerous in this era full of liers and without values or morals!

I think it has a lot to do with the era. Scientists of that caliber 30 years ago were a lot older because their research material was usually written documents and books. No quick searches that way. The machinery is significantly more advanced so the work that needs to be done is more accurate as well. It doesn't hurt that we push higher education on people when they are younger a lot more over the last 30 years.

I got fully vaccinated with AZ (astrazenaca) this sept, but i still curious about which vaccine is more effective. In my country there are some cases that people passed away after got the first dose. People then begin to think, it's because the vaccine. That makes people so worry to get vaccinated. Doctors and any people in charges said it wass because 'comorbid" or i don't know what is it.. i hope you make an explanations about this

😊 Well, I truly love God. I am not religious but very spiritual person. So, I believe 1) Religion is the beliefs in someone experiences But spirituality is having my own experiences. The mainstream religions people promote religious ideology by giving guidelines and guide but In my spiritual life; I do not want anyone or anything between God and me to restrict my freedom to worship God. 2) We do not need any authorities to do good work. So, everything for good and evil and there's no success and failure for everything. If everything is real then real things can not be threatened. We are worthy to God always in everything. 7) Beliefs in a cruel God makes a cruel man. No matter what; every living creatures has the right to live and What makes their life cheap? Everything depends on everything. Nothing too big or too small in value. We can not love and hate at the same time; Being a vegetarian means love without cruelty happily. The mainstream religious people are killing people and sacrificing animals in the name of God. They promote God's cruel punishments. The Punishment is endless for Sinners/Devil according to religious scriptures. But God is love always. Overcome hate with love. If all religions for peace, unity? No way. Because they are not for peace. 8) Well, The God gave us everything to go from moment to moment in our lives as we do our part and pray only to thank god then the Love is in progress. The Love is always for everyone. We are always worthy of the God's love. Our greatest fear is; not to be loved by anyone but we are all loved by someone. When I heard the news of the first vaccines being rolled out in the UK, I was on the train on my way to work (in the blood service) and I started crying. After such a tough year, we could potentially make everything go back to normal, I could see my family again, spend time with my partner again. As far as I understand it, the mRNA vaccine unlike a live virus does not have replicating elements to make more of itself - once the initial dose of instructions go into cells and make the spike proteins, there's no more. So no, it's not a constant spike protein production.
No, your body won't be fighting spike proteins forever. mRNA is broken down fairly quickly by the body.

They just Hela cells. There are many others, but Hela are easiest to grow, can also use insect cells and bacteria too. But we want something close to human physiology, so mammalian immortalised cells are the best option. They are slower in growing tho.
I seriously want to know now how to get my cells immortalized now. Imagine how cool it would be to be immortalized and help humanity for decades to come!

But these are strictly for lab testing. If you are to do this on a human body, these cells will likely turn cancerous since they can divide indefinitely and harbour mutations over time. So you don't want that.
