I love the fact that everyone kinda had the thought "What the Hell happened to Brendan Fraser? We need to bring that guy back" and he came back at the absolute top of his game and killed it. Absolute legend, hope to see him crush even more roles in the future.
I’ve literally had the “whatever happened to him” conversation in the past because he was such a huge part of my generation’s childhood. I think we were all wondering were he went.
He was sexually abused by someone that had more power than him and had him pretty much thrown out of Hollywood. Sad situation, but I’m really glad he’s back.

I had it a bit differently where I started watching doom patrol in like 2018-19 whenever it came out and I was like, oh yeah what’s he been doing and formed my own little Brenaissance watching and rewatching his stuff. Then fast forward 2 years or so and everyone was like, Bring Back Brendan Fraser! And I was like, what? He’s in a show I love? What do you mean bring him back?? But I get it, I know the public information now and I’m very happy to see him enjoying the mainstream success his talent allows him because he’s just such a lovely guy and he’s very deserving of it.
I just love how genuine he is when he speaks about the struggles of being morbidly obese, like he really has had his eyes opened to it. And its not putting on a show, its true empathy. What a wonderful human.
These people are paid, professional liars. That is what they do. Act. How do you know it's not putting on a show when this is indeed a show? The Graham Norton Show. People today have lost the ability to discern what it means to actually know someone. Have you had dinner with Brendan Fraser's family? Do you know his children? You said he is a "wonderful human" but you have never met him in person. You are speaking of a character, a role he plays, one of many for the public, as if you know him personally. ALL of these people are acting whenever there is a camera on them.

@@liasonpureluv It definitely hasn't. I always refer to his film "Bedazzled" When I talk about his ability to act different characters and being so versatile. And all of them were great.

I grew up in the 90s watching a lot of Brendan Fraser films so this man was literally my childhood. Couldn't be happier to see him getting the love and recognition he so greatly deserves now for his work. He just seems to be a wonderful person and I truly hope he continues to flourish creatively.

He was my childhood also and i wish he wasnt. He essentially plays mentally challenged characters, and hes just weird looking. Never liked him even as a kid

Helena in particular is a very emotionally-invested listener. So much empathy on her face.

I LOVE so much how "alive" he is now. You can see it in his face he truly "feels" better nowadays. He deserves all of it and I'm happy he was actually made aware how many fans he has and how much we support him.

Kids nowadays will never understand what a legend this man was. I grew up with all of his movies. I am not a fan fan but he will always be special to me.
The thing is that Brendan was always good, but Hollywood wasn’t as kind to him but I am so happy he’s getting noticed because he’s such a jack of all trades. He can do dramas, can do comedy, he can’t action anymore but when he did he was the best. Every modern action hero has to thank him because without Brendan’s O’Connell from the mummy the current archetype action hero wouldn’t be the same
To say hollywood wasn't kind to him is kind of like saying the Germans were a bit impetuous with the French.
However Hollywood is trying to destroy the heroic archetype by making the hero a poorly written, non relatable person of colour/non binary/ strong female protagonist with an unearned sense of accomplishment
What did Hollywood actually do to him? I will look it up but always nice to get a varied perspective.
@@myshepspud1 In short: Pressured him into doing increasingly dangerous stunts which damaged his health. Then mysteriously stopped offering him roles when he complained about being sexually assaulted by an influential man.
I've heard he's still open to doing action. With current technology actors really don't have to get too involved in stunt work whatsoever anymore. As long as he looked the part (which is achievable, especially with roids), he could come back to action no problem.

I'm happy to see Brendan's confidence again. He's willing to be sarcastic and energetic and it's nice to see a slice of how he was back in the 90s and early 2000s. He's still really humble and earnest, which is great to see. Brendan's the MVP

You can see how soft spoken he still is and that he gave everything in his heart to this role. Idk if it’s awkward or nerves but either way he’s the man and I hope nothing but good things to come for him. Everybody has good things to say to him and about him.
I've listened to quite a few interviews with him. He is a classic theater actor. He wants to find something to say with each role. And he's very humble too, which is just the icing on the cake.
you can tell he is starting to get back that mummy era brendan fraser personality again, he's getting more lively, charasmatic and funny again. nice to see he's healing and starting to feel whole again as a actor and a human being.

I’m really glad to see Brendan Fraser go back to his roots as a dramatic actor. School Ties and With Honors were two of my favorites, and I would love to see him do more stuff like that.

Thanks for the reminder. I recall arguing with someone, quite awhile ago, about Brendan’s bonafides as an actor. Referenced exactly those movies.
He got cast into the action and physical comedy roles because of his stature and what I suspect is a good natured personality… but he has been so misbranded because of his fun roles.
I also like to refer to Blast from the Past and Bedazzled as light films, but that allowed him to express some range (nothing as potent as School Ties) but fun diverse characters
But I am sure he would still like to play comedy and parodies, as he said as long as you call him... I have no idea why they stopped calling him, he was a star and well received... Did he get blacklisted?

@@mrfatuchi They didn't stop calling him. He lost his leading man good looks so he stopped getting those jobs but he works. He's a main cast member on Doom Patrol and that's in it's 4rth season.
Man nobody deserves a comeback quite like this guy does. Don't know one person who's fed up of hearing about him, or disagrees with the love he's getting at the moment. Hell yeah!!!

The honest humility and true talent are unmissable. It's not everyday that people experience these coming off a 'celebrity'. No wonder he is being loved by all! Let me say what has been said over and over again; this man deserves it❤
He’s so frickin thoughtful and cool and smart and nice and pure.
I’ve said it in a few places, but I know he took a break, I know he was forced to for various reasons personally and otherwise, but…
this love he’s getting, this love for the performance, the spotlight, his name in the news, his energy and new movies, it’s like he never left and we’re back in the 2000s again. That was his peak but since this is his truest self and he’s doing this on his own terms now, THIS is his true peak I think too.
If there’s anything to say of good about the end of 2022 into 2023 it can be at least this one thing of the world pretty much unanimously accepting him back with open arms 😊

Brendan is so lovely and sweet. It just makes me so happy to see him finally getting the recognition that he deserves! It breaks my heart that he had to go through as much as he did, but i'm so glad to see him in the spotlight again!

He’s so many peoples childhood, so glad he bounced back from his life struggles. Also he surprised fans in London that were having a screening of the Mummy, he just showed up dressed as Rick. Him and those two films are everything here!

It's crazy to think that it's been 24 years since the first Mummy movie came out with Brendan Fraser. It feels like just yesterday for me. I think I first saw it in 2000 or 2001 on VHS cassette which i rented, remember those back in the days? So much nostalgia😭😭😭
