Roberto DaCosta, the kid they save in this ep who functions kind of like Jubilee did in the original show’s pilot, is Sunspot from the comics, who leads the New Mutants later. Suuuuper dope that he shows up here
Actually, the New Mutants were co-lead by Cannonball and Mirage.
@@FaytLinegod I mean, technically they were launched with Xavier and then Magneto leading the school, though Karma quickly became the official leader of the New Mutants before apparently dying. That’s when Cannonball and Mirage stepped in. Sunspot doesn’t really lead the team until the modern run, during Dawn of X when they go by the Secret Xmen instead of New Mutants (but still feature him and Cannonball as the two primary members, so it still feels like New Mutants, I think)

To me, my 90 kids, who vibes with that fight against the sentinels with the amazing theme!! This first episode hit hard to the nostalgia, it was amazing and the team was like a perfect fighting machine.
I binge-watched the entire show for the first time to prepare for the continuation, and we couldn’t have it without the classic opener. Kevin Feige wanted to include the intro song and bring back as many of the original cast as possible.

I did a re-watch on all 5 szn and just finished before these dropped. ❤❤❤ make a big difference on the memories

to add on to what you said, in theory if cyclops were to use his powers at a mirror it would shatter the mirror rather than be reflected by it.

Great reaction! It is so awesome that we are finally here! The Multiverse Saga has had its ups and downs, but we just had to have faith. We knew it would lead to the X-Men coming home, one way or another… what a fantastic time to be an X-Men Fan!!!

The new rich kid takes the name sunspot. He has flight super strength and can even manipluate light energy and redirect it.

good reaction and glad the show is back I was 12 when the original run started in 1992. This TAS batman and TAS superman were some of my favorites in the 90's.
They assume he's dead. Xavier isn't dead, but he *IS* off Earth! The X-Men finale, he went with Lilandra, so her & the rest of the Shi'Ar could heal him.
What I liked is that Cyclops is getting some respect around here. I blame the movies for making the characters weaker with Cyclops being one of the worse things they did.
They made him a punching bag in favor of Wolverine, despite the fact that he was already a popular character at the time. Here, Scott got to remind everyone why he's the leader of the X-Men.
He got to really shine this time around and show more of what he can do. I also love the little easter egg of Storm being acknowledged that she's what we call an omega level mutant.
Mutants under that class are not to be messed with. If Storm really wanted to, she could destroy the Earth and kill everyone in it without even trying. Its easy to forget that she always holds back. After all, she was worshipped as a goddess for a reason. The films didnt really do these characters justice and I kind of resent them for it. Don't get me wrong, they still have some amazing movies though! Anyway, looking forward to seeing your reaction to the next few episodes. They're gonna get wild.

Rogue, Gambit = Mid 20s
Cyclops, Storm, Phoenix = Early 30s
Beast = Late 40s or Early 50s
Professor-X = 60s
Wolverine = 100+ (but looks gruff Late 30s)

It's been like a year from original to now. Professor IS NOT DEAD! His alien girlfriend took him into space to treat his injuries.
He had to leave since our tech was so weak that it couldn't save him.

it's always been an outstanding series minus that one season where it was like a little Jenkee, the graphics.. but I still enjoyed it.. but 97 outstanding so far ..
A recap? Guys you will watch the entire old series again just to punch up XMen 97. It's a fast paced masterpiece.
