Great first episode, it had me 5 minutes in with the justice for Cyclops moment. Hearing them call Storm an Omega level mutant was icing on the cake.

God I forgot Cyclops used to be strong, confident, and determined. I'm so used to him being all depressed and not intimidating at all in everything the last like 20 years lol
He got his shot and totally ruled
It’s not that Cyclops isn’t a mess, it’s that most adaptations the past quarter-century *focus* on that; he’s composed on the surface but if he’s not like that 90% of the time then the angst doesn’t hit like it should and he comes off as pathetic… He’s such a phenomenal and somehow underrated character who deserves to be done justice.
Which is one reason I hope the MCU doesn’t do the Phoenix Saga, at least not until they’ve done a trilogy or so…

sometimes i forget, cyclops isnt laser beams but punch beams from the punch dimension
I think alot of people do. What makes it a cool power. I did love him moving around by using it.
@@LegendsofPodcasting it sorta reminded me of some of avatar the last airbender moves firebenders could do to slow falls down, or that one time in godzilla vs hedorah where godzilla used the beam as a rocket propulsion, yes it was the late 60s and that movie was on drugs (literally it has a psychodelic sequence)
its good seeing the xmen have their powers used creatively
They just need to do Cyke justice in the eventual films, now.

This was so damn epic! Hearing Cyclops say give them the forcast. Storm going Omega Level 5. By turning the sand to glass with her lighting.
Also seeing Gambit charge up his staff and. Throwing his staff at Wolverine. Giving him and extra boost to get airborne.
Best theme song ever! ❤️
I will say a couple of things, guys.
First, I’m glad that Morph actually gets to be a complete character now; he/they were created for the show (albeit based loosely off a 60s mutant called Chameleon, who died before the decade was up) and meant to die in the opener just to set the tone. But because the creators and fans liked him, they retconned his death by hastily putting his voiceover in the Season 1 finale (the bit where Sinister is monitoring Scott and Jean) and made him a recurring victim; now that they’re a full part of the story though, Morph can actually have a dynamic role. Which includes showing them and Logan in downtime (Morph was the “only one who made him laugh” but we couldn’t really see it).
Secondly, I had forgotten that Roberto de Costa is from a wealthy family, and actually leaning into that makes him a great contrast to former newcomer Jubilee. That said, it still irks me that even this adaptation opts to change his ethnicity- he was originally designed to be Afro-Brazilian, and the insistence to make him lighter-skinned that the comics and elsewhere indulge feels wasteful (especially when you don’t need to cast a perfect ethnically accurate actor for voiceover; he could be any Latino plus black and it would work).
Yeah I listened to that interview about morph was interesting. Really cool way to cameo other characters as well. Already had him do 5 characters.
Yeah I hope he comes back in the season and joins the team.
The sheer neck muscles on Cyclops to move around with his beams
Rob referencing Dazzler (13:58): just awesome. She's a character I really wish they'd bring into either this show (more than just a nod) or the anticipated live action shows.
I no she showed up in dark phoenix story but only as a short cameo.

😂😂😂you guys crack me up & they kept the theme song! I like how the animation looks & them keeping it kinda old when it comes to some of the movements there doing , the music was 🔥 & love them giving Cyclops respect he’s needed for awhile other than X-Men Evolution I haven’t read any x-men comics only seen tv shows & films so this was good. I always forget they made an X-Men anime & love the set up so far

I enjoyed this debut more than any other Marvel -Disney Plus series to date. The writers, producers, and ainimators have successfully replicated the look, relationships, and feel of the 90s series - while modernizing it. Note: Gambit is Cajun, and his accent is spot-on. Great reaction, guys!

@@leoneljaramillo6710 the thing that holds Magneto back is that i feel like he never really felt like a villain throughout the whole show. If I'm being honest, he was really more of an ally to the X-Men even tho there were times he did have his villainous moments
I didn't watch the original series, but am tuning in for this. So far, I think its fine. I'm not a huge fan of the CG animation and some of the 90s cheesiness. But overall, its fun. Marvel Studios already made an X-Men animated series when they produced Wolverine and the X-Men. I really liked the tone of that show.
You should try and go back and watch a few they are all on Disney+
I really liked wolverine and the Xmen as well. Shame it got cancelled cos it finished with a big cliff hanger
You may not know this, but despite being released after the comic “Age of Apocalypse”, the two-part animated story “One Man’s Worth” was actually conceived of *first* and the comics writers decided to copy them. Because the comics don’t have that production time it came out first, but it’s actually the comics imitating something they knew was good. And why wouldn’t they, especially as they did their own stuff with it.

I grew up with X-Men: Evolution; I don't think I've ever seen the original '97 series. So hearing these voices, especially for Rogue and Wolverine, just feels wrong 😂 I'm sure I'll get used to it.
But also, I had no idea about the whole "Rogue permanently gaining Captain Marvel powers" thing! I was like, "wait, how is she flying? Who did she copy? What's going on?!" 😂 Thank Google for answering it for me.
There’s an episode on the original show called “a rogues tale” which tells you how it happened. Really good

Season 5 was definitely the weakest, although I don’t blame them for that; they didn’t expect to be renewed and had put the characters in a shaken status quo. So it felt… not bad, but off. However at least the finale was excellent and really sent it off perfectly.
