I really like that that first scene takes place in a building labelled "hip skate party", but the IPSK all fell off so the sign just says "HATE PARTY", which is just perfect for Friends of Humanity.

I have only seen the first two but it actually gets better!
The voices of Wolverine, Rogue, Beast and Storm are the ones reprising their roles.

The voice actress who played Jean in the 1990s is now playing the blonde agent, while a new voice actress is playing Jean.
Whoever is voicing Cyclops is doing an amazing job. He sounds just like the original

Grew up watching it, the nostalgia is 10/10! Also one of the first times (in the original cartoon but it carries over here too) I remember feeling represented so that's also a nice memory. Glad to watch your reactions to the rest of the series!

Yeah those sentinels were clearly not operating at full capacity. Damaged, built in a junkyard, its no wonder they didn't hold up to the ones built with full government funding. The mastermould was likely not a true one either. In fact this whole thing could have been a setup using s bunch if junk. Make them think they won when really they accomplished nothing. Meanwhile the real mastermould is off doing stuff in secret.

Cyclops and Havok made that landing in Xmen Evolution a long time ago… that being said it was not as badass as that one.
Awesome video!! So cool to see people who actually saw the OG show on Saturday mornings. I was born in 2001, but as a kid I was able to get the OG series DVD’s and experience that amazing show. When this was announced I lost my mind, and when they trailer was released I immediately rewatched the whole show on Disney Plus. This first Two episodes of ‘97 were amazing, they were all we loved from the OG and much more!!

Dude, what are you talking about? Batman TAS had consistently better animation than X-Men? Could it be janky, yes, but it did consistently outperform X-Men in terms of overall quality.
Oh we totally agree nothing beats Batman, later seasons of X-Men flowed a little smoother, then season 5 was terrible animation.

The woman is Val Cooper, she is the mutant liason with the US Government. She was seen in the 90s series when X-Factor appeared trying to reclaim Ice Man, and the first time Cyclops meets his brother Havok, but doesn't realize they're related. Jean knows after a mind scan, but I don't remember if he was ever told by the episode's end. In the comics Val worked closely with Xavier and was one of his "Human Network" along with Moira McTaggart and Cameron Hodge (before he went all Phalanx)
My theory is that Val is really Mystique…
