Some aircraft have different checklists due to company policy and the obvious make and model. Functional limitations may be offered by engies which can be incorporated into the checklist. Eg. My company's policy requires that the beacon light remain on at all times, you must not switch the bcn off. Reason: If the battery is left on, anyone can easily see that the aircraft has not been shutdown completely.

Transient voltages can happen in the electrics during engine start, if the avionics are on, they can get damaged, and I bet they cost a small fortune to replace, so leave them off until after engine start, same for all small GA aircraft like this.
Good guide, but considering that you can takeoff and fly from anywhere in the world you should've mentioned that you need to play with the mixture depending on altitude, I was attempting to take off in the andes but could not start the engine. Had too look up and eventually find out you need to lower mixture on higher elevations. The beechcraft wasn't starting because of this as well. Good thing to note.
You don't want to take any additional power from the battery so it can go to starting the engine. It could also send a surge of power to sensitive avionics and damage them when the plane starts and the alternator starts producing current.
@@geofft08 After the engine is started then turn them on. Just don't have them on while starting the engine. They can be damaged and it takes power away from the battery that can be used for cranking the engine over.
The sudden turn on of the alternator may cause a surge of power through the avionics system literally damaging your most critical system. Always turn on avionics afterwards

You may have flooded your engine. You may have not primed your throttle. You may have not cracked your throttle. You may have failures turned on. Your battery may have gone flat.
The nav/position lights aren’t required until sunset. These lights are the red and green ones on the end of the wings so they don’t really help you in the daytime since no one can see them.
Another note: if it’s night time, it’s courtesy to keep your strobe lights off until you’re on the runway. That way other aircraft taxing don’t get blinded. Of course, you would have your position lights on while taxing to the runway so people can see you and determine which way you’re headed.
No-one sees your nav lights clearly during the day. You can make out the direction of movement of a plane during the day as long as its inside your vision.
Your 152 videos are very good. The only thing is you talk too fast and you like to use double negative expression which is a bit difficult to understand 100% at first time with your talking speed. There are 3 of them and I have seen them all. Wish you could do more 152 videos ! I took about 20 hours real flight training with 152 9 years ago but can't afford flight courses now so I am using FSX as my training course.
When you hover over the throttle and mixture knobs, you get an indication of the percentage setting. I had this in FSX and P3D but can't figure out how to show it in msfs. Any idea please?
Great vids helps alot. I have found the Shock Ultra, XCub 172 & Caravan to be very nice to fly after tweaking the Sensitivity but the jets & Diamonds keep killing me. I also can't figure out how to plug in to the nav 1 for an ILS landing yet did you do a vid on that?
Be careful with the sensitivity settings for aileron and elevator controls. They only introduce lag. In fact, the curve is just a delay setting. You might get rid of one problem by introducing another one. It's okay to do for the rudders because they are to twitchy by default. Deadzones should be zero, too. Unless you have a cheap controller that is spiking.
I'm just getting into MSFS 2020 and have been flying this for the last 4-5 hrs. One huge issue I have is the instruments and their apparent lack of lighting. Is there a light switch? many times I am flying, trying to follow instructions but I cannot see the gauges, even your opening screen shows this issue somewhat. Very perturbing to have control tell you maintain 2900 but you literally cannot see the altimeter.
Behind the yoke, there's a panel of switches for the lights. The leftmost switch labelled "DOME LiGHTS" is the interior cabin light. This should help you out a little.
Sadly, none of this matters because the game doesn't model damage in any form. You can start the engine on a freezing morning and rev it to full power without any consequences. All the checklists are just for show.
Is anyone getting low oil pressure in the Cesna 172? I get a warning for low pressure at initial startup. If I ignore it, the oil pressure operates out of the green zone, my idle speed is under the recommended 600, and my max rpm at full throttle is only 2100. I've tried messing with the fuel mixture but that barely does anything. What am I doing wrong? I followed the checklist like I was supposed to, but it still does this every time I start from cold & dark.
Lean your mixture and increase your engine rpm for warmup. You should be sitting at around 1000 RPM. Low oil pressure on the ground is usually created because your engine isn't running fast enough. Be careful not to overheat your engine however.
How can I do that? Where everything on the checklist is not yet been done when you start the simulation? Everytime I start the simulation, the checklist already is automatically completed but I need to do it manually? Is there any setting to change from automatic to manual?
Go to your Assistant Setting in game. I'll start another fight in a minute and find the setting. Also, don't start on a runway. When you select your Airport Departure, pick a parking spot from the list or from zooming way in on the airport You may not have to change a setting, it seems like taking off from a parking spot spawns you in a plane that you have to start
@@jacher101 so, you start your plane from a parking spot. In the hoverable menu at the top of your screen, turn OFF Checklist Assist in the AI Control menu.. You might have to start a new fight after doing that.
@@jacher101 on the world map, when you pick your departure, zoom WAY in on the airport and click on one of the gates or parking spots, instead of a runway.. OR when you select your departure airport, a menu on the right side of the screen will pop up and you can select runways and parking spots there. It also shows the length of the runways
You don't want any electrical equipment turned on when starting the engine, as all the battery power wants to be going to cranking the engine and you don't want to have electrical spikes going into your expensive radios/transponders etc.

Still not starting for me, which is frustrating because I used to be able to get it to start every time before I took a 6 mo FS break.

Hi, how to you turn off auto engine start. Even when i start a fly on gate / parking the plane is already turn on.

Maybe high altitude airport? Try leaning your mixture
