  • I've been seeing some extra tall cakes lately so decided to try one out myself! It was actually a lot easier than I imagined - you just need to prepare the structure correctly. I completed mine with a gorgeous ombre effect, white chocolate drips and some summery decorations.
    Enjoy!

    It's absolutely gorgeous!!! You make everything seem so simple, but believe me, it's scary... I'd freak out trying to maintain its stability. Thanks Georgia, you're such a joy to watch!!! I wish your business in Tel Aviv a thriving success. I'd love to visit you if I ever fly over there, as I'm just a 45 minute flight away. ✈️

    You don’t put straws on the second barrel?

  • @Warning203
    @Warning203 Před 3 lety +3

    Paper straws. Won't the buttercream soften them and make them mushy?

    • @dominiquela101

    • @melissab1868

      Even as she was inserting them you could see that they were starting to bend and soften.

    • @GeorgiasCakes
      @GeorgiasCakes  Před 3 lety

      No they don't - they were bending because these cakes were very cold..!

    • @yalevelaz3380

      I personally don't use paper straws for same concern of being deteriorating so i use jumbo shake straws or boba tea straws , they do work great holding even on tier cakes 😉

    Fail to see the point of the straws as they aren't part of holding up or stabilizing the top and bottom layers - you've put the hard cake board effectively between? Also how are you supposed to cut it? I'm envisioning some potential choking problems If someone chomps on the lower layers' straws?

    • @ashleyboudreau8341
      @ashleyboudreau8341 Před 3 lety +2

      The straws support and balance the cake board so it doesn't start collapsing under the weight of the 2nd cake. And when it comes time to cut the cake, the top cake is taken off and cut as usual, the bottom you remove the straws first and then cut

    This sponge is excellent, I have a question, i am making a 3 tier wedding cake using this sponge recipe with a swiss meringue frosting, can i keep it outside the fridge for 48 hours? or should i refrigerate?

    • @neha-js1qj
      @neha-js1qj Před 3 lety

      48 hours is a really long time to keep the cake out. unless the weather is really cold where you live, I'd recommend definitely refrigerating your cake
