It cost 1000 to be harder to open. You are delicate, because its expensive. But to solve it you need to hit it hard :D

That... That would be a fivehead move.
I have a feeling that that's part of the reason it costs so much, not even joking

When It popped open My Face lit up like a little kid on Christmas. It was the silliest, purest smile I've had in a while.
That puzzle is cool X3
I was just thinking the same thing about myself. Pure joy! What an amazing puzzle.
Same here! This is a clever puzzle! I love it! I would have bought it to try to figure out myself if it wasn't so expensive.
My reaction too. Though less like a kid at Christmas and more like a kid at uni on their first week, marvelling at the amount of sex and alcohol seemingly on offer. By that I mean "Gimme more, asap!" with a tongue hanging out in a drunken, dog-like way.
Had seen a few vids of Chris recently (probably imprinted via the CZcams suggestion algorithm from watching more and more), and this one finally made me subscribe. Which is quite a feat, considering I only subscribe to 23 channels maximum at a time! (What can I say? The shitty Jim Carrey film stuck with me...)
Maybe try looking at an letsplay of "the room" or play it yourself. I swear its worth it
It has like a thousand of these tiny puzzles
Samee!!!!!!
So the lesson here kids is if you can’t solve your problems
Hit it with your fist
Not every problem 😅
True
and if punching it doesnt work
Kick it
Pug Life I tried this on my girlfriend and it didn’t work :/
@@jacobyoon8233 Maybe you didn't hit hard enough ...😊
I know just hitting it seems stupid but actually it's pretty smart because they put so much work in to make it look nice and the puzzles price of $1000 makes hitting it the last thing you want to do which is pretty sneaky
And then the nob having resistance for the ultimate troll
lol ikr
Right. Genius. I would be sick smashing a 1000 dollar anything...
This is brilliant. It's $1000, so you're averse to hitting it and thus causing any expected damage, but yet that's the solution all along.
Owen Strawbridge I agree
God the sound of the thing rattling inside is so infuriating, its like its taunting you as you trying everything to solve it
I had the exact same thought!
He called it a spring or something when it sounded like a ball bearing to me and I thought he was stupid. In the end, I was the stupid guy but also wondered how he knew it was a spring loaded doohickey.
@@shinigami146 Maybe something about how it felt as it rattled around in there?
Shin Igami he can hear things we cannot. Because we are listening to the digital recording. If you were there I bet he could here spring like a door stop or when you stretch a spring it has that faint sound of the metals separating and stretching.
Also the feel of it, when u rattle something that has a spring in it vs a ball in a tube or a pin in a slot u will feel the difference
the only way that'd be worth $1000 is if it cracked open to reveal a $970 refund
or a youtuber gets 4million views from it.
More like a $999 refund. Wouldnt pay more than $1 for a broken radio😂
That's basically what happened for this guy... He whacked it open to reveal 4 million views, guarantee he made his money back x10.
@@bucky13 probably not if I remember it's a small payment for every hundred thousand view or something
@@zan31669 CZcamsrs get AT LEAST $1000 per million views, meaning he made at least $4000 minus cost. He probably made much more, but that's a fair estimate.
Cool... but not $1000 cool.
its vintage and probably near one of a kind. interesting or one of a kind is worth the money.
I think the craftsmanship is the money
Also this is his livelihood, I think this is a good investment
+Myles, I don't think it's real vintage. It looks vintage but my guess is it isn't that old. The price will be the fact those puzzles are made in only very small quantities by craftwork and of some expensive wood (like teak). It is a few years old now but not one of a kind (more like 1 of 1000).
I could probably make it for about 50 bucks.

This is my favorite video now that you have..!! The creation of this puzzle goes super deep..! Like the playing card in the tree (now you see me) this was created to play on the fact that this would not be the first puzzle that you purchase due to the high price tag.. With that said, the creator knew that the solver would be looking for some elaborate sequence to solve the puzzle.. How long will the solver go on their intuition before realizing that you just need to hammer down to win..! Then I looked at the construction of the box, and it looks to be designed to be hit..! I hate the fact that it's 1000$, but that's an integral part to the puzzle..! LOVE IT..!! Thank You..!
People don't realize that he didn't waste any money at all, it gave him a video that made probably triple the price of it. And it was an entertaining video.
no one cares if he wasted money, we see the millions of views... ppl think the general customer who bought this was ripped off
He did not make a thousand dollars on this video. I have another channel with a video at over 6.5M views, and I barely made a thousand dollars on that. That's just not how CZcams works, especially not nowadays. The way you make money is by having hundreds, or thousands, of videos that earn you a little bit every day. And brand deals, and sponsorships. Ad revenue is for the most part a joke.
Mythricia what is the other channel called?
Ad revenue is heavily dependant on the viewer demographic. A young target audience might generate you up to 30x the revenue per view of the older population.
That's not really very true. The ads served are largely the same. The main demographics for the video I'm referencing is the 13-17 and the 18-24 brackets. Truth is, ad revenue is abysmal, and has been for a while now. Which is why in-video ad spots, sponsored videos, and brand deals are now becoming so common - because it's the only way to stay alive if CZcams is your livelihood. Diversifying your income streams is by far the biggest deal for basically all YT creators now, huge and small alike.
I feel like for a thousand dollars, this should have been a multi seqeuncing puzzle, like 10+ steps for each part to come out. This seemed a little too easy for my taste. The video was great tho.
Yea I would never hit 1000$ just to open it
It’s the idea of overthinking the simplest solutions....that’s why you have turning knobs and a rattle to make you overthink it but I agree 1000 is too much lol
I meant that hitting it is really risky for the price
Tessax92 ii
viral marketing, this is barely worth 100 euros, but they are trying to push it for 1000.....
My first thought was to whack it like something broken. What a clever puzzle

Chris's response to these puzzles is what makes his CZcams sooooo good! He is wicked smart and logical but I just love his curiosity and love for the unexpected.
1000 dollars to smack a box. K then
Mr Incognito same don't think I'd buy it
well, if you buy it you don't know you have to smack it. Could take someone a week or something to figure this out. It's all about the experience i guess.
But i do agree that for a 1k puzzle it would be way cooler to have a clever puzzle with more steps than smacking it
even if the experience would be great, the actual "device" you paid for is not worth 1k. there's no way those materials make even 1/10 of that price. cool idea, cool puzzle but it's way too overpriced
kyden you clearly dont know what goes into quality woodworking

I was expecting a solution way more intricate but I was not disappointed
Now that is craftsmanship at its finest. Nice work!
That is incredibly clever.
Was having a bad day...until I started watching this video. Thanks for putting me in a better mood Chris!! Absolutely love these puzzle videos!!
I'm not super hardcore into puzzles but correct me if I'm wrong a level 7 puzzle that cost $1,000 and the solution is to punch the top of it? Maybe I'm missing something here but the price and difficulty level seem way over what it should be.
You're not getting it. The point is noone would smack a $1000 puzzle. The price is part of the gag.
Hey, I just came out with a new puzzle. It's a carcass of a car that you have to hit in a wall to open it, $ 30,000!
solamisandwich05 that's clever and a rip off!
So there is 1000 dollar in the puzzle?
the thing is it try's to make you jump to conclusions so it is good you try to find a secret code or something but all you have to do is get mad and rage and finally smack it
This is really cool, and the thought process too is amazing. Everything matters even the name. I wish I could give you a double like for this. 👍
When someone pay this much for a simple puzzle, you know they’re dedicated
So what do you do when a bad radio stops working *starts hitting it from every side* 100% what i would do #RamFam :)

As someone who has been in radio since 1990 I have to say this is the coolest thing I have ever seen!
aha so u need to go against yourself on this one! like in the video, you were absolutely charmed by this wonderfull piece of craftsmanship so it asks for some kind of recklessness n guts to beat up a 'sculpture' worth 1k. elegant and quite sly.

I did not expect that! Awesome!!!
This made me so satisfied when you finally did. I AM SO HAPPY THANKS CHRIS.
This puzzle seems more like a troll because it makes you think it has some complicated way to open it. I could make a wooden box that is hollow and say it is the chopping block puzzle. How do you open it you ask? The hint is in the name. You chop it open because it was completely sealed.
Hey, don't forget the price tag! $ 3,000
The answer is in the name though. When a radio is bad you smack the top of it lol
Jacob Rksks
How do you make a wooden block that is hollow an completely sealed 😅
Ruben Olaussen glue
Wicked sense of humour from the puzzle maker. I enjoyed your Eureka moment, and Sherlock Holmes deduction.
I love how genuinely happy you are when you figure it out hahaha
I like it a lot but not for$1,000. What a satisfying solve though.
twes619 reason it's 1000 dollars is because no one would think or even want to try solving it by smacking in in fear it would brake because it's so expensive
EliGames 1 seems like an excuse to sell it for way too much
John Madden its a really high quality wood and probably from a really old tree thats what made it really expensive
I absolutely loved the simplicity of this “bad radio” puzzle! I laughed out loud when that bang opened it; each time! Probably, because of the price 🤔🤷🏻♀️ ~ but then again... this was priceless!!! 😂😂😂
Literally sooo satisfying
actually SO WHOLESOME
love your puzzle solving videos!
awesome puzzle, but not worth $1000.
guitar guy Exactly what I was thinking
That's what a lot of us are thinking.
You’re paying for the craftsmanship and the engineering and at the end of the day it’s a cool collectible. Chris said himself it was mainly for his shelf. To each his own.
Says it's 12 dollars on eBay
I said the same with iPhone x lol
Fabulously simple when you figure it out!
So cool cris. 🤘 I love watching your videos.
Box puzzles, cast puzzles are so awesome. When you went to the Buck twins office they’re decor and secret bookcase room really blow my mind. That’s is exactly what I’d love to have in a study, if I had the money 💰. Card magic, coin magic, puzzles, are so eloquent!!
;
I feel like something is missing here... For a level 7 I feel like the whole punching it thing is clever but how is that hard enough to be a level 7. Just my opinion, but, I'd think punching it might be the first os several steps. What do you think? Am I crazy for thinking its too easy or what?
*of not 'os'
I agree, expected it to be a bit harder but definitely not a level 5 either ( coin box was level 5) thanks for watching!
Done a lot of your video watching recently. I realize that you have been on here for a hot minute but I only recently came across your channel (was recommended while I was in a black hole of Derren Brown videos) But, ever since the first one I watched (reacting to cardistry) I've been hooked! I've basically binge watched your videos for the last 3 days. I really like how real you come across. So many youtubers feel like they would be totally different if you met them in real life but with your videos, it seems that it is real life. Sorry if any of that comes off weird but.... You're awesome, good job, and by all means, please, keep on uploading!
I think part of the puzzle is having the level be so high so that your mind doesn't go directly to "oh I should hit it". Therefore the level makes you think it must be complex and therefore you start thinking too hard about the knobs. At the end of the day, though, that's one expensive puzzle that you smack to death haha
if you spend $1000 on a puzzle you probably would not want to slam it
I love watching these videos, they're really interesting, but I also find his voice is super soothing and have fallen asleep twice watching these videos.
When you realize you spent $1000 on a wooden box that opens by hitting it. Only Metz
You should look at Brian Brushwood's Rogue's tavern puzzle box. Excellently made and they have a present inside!
“There doesn’t **seam** to be....”
nice
Seems like a valuable lesson for life. Never underestimate the value of simple solutions.
Also smack things if they don't work. That's also a good lesson.
So cool. My 7 yr old and I love watching your puzzle videos. Great stuff.
I don't see how it's a $1000 tho
i think its because you would never smash a $1000 puzzle
It's all in the craftsmanship and the nice wood prob cost around 300 to make
Socks, lol horseshit. You wouldn't have 300 tied up in that if you smuggled bulloak out of australia. And those are just standard comb joints, covered in polymerized tung oil. That's $100 tops with the most expensive materials.
solamisandwich05 idfk how much wood costs im not the one getting worked up over how some CZcams wasted his money lol it's not mine idgaf
solamisandwich05 Not That I necessarily think $1000 is a fair price, but it’s not just about materials. It’s about the craftsmanship. I would assume that this is handmade, and it’s very well made. That takes skill and time worth paying for.
Ohhh I get it you are supposed to hit it like they did in the old days to get it working
but he just broke it into pieces XD

loved this one *-* heh, so clever ♡
So its a level 7, and costs 1000 dollars, and the way to solve it is by hitting it.... that's ridiculous
Well, if they say it's a puzzle, the first thing everyone will do is try to solve it normally. Like what he did in the video. Turning the dials, trying to find some sort of combination to open it. It also has a "marble" inside so people would think there's something hidden inside. And when they get frustrated, the last thing they would do is hit it really hard out of frustration, only to realize that they bought a $1000 puzzle and the only way to open it is to hit it really hard. And yes, that is what most people do if their radios are bad or screwing up.
How is it a level 7 though if the answer is literally just smacking it? People have commented that it's clever because you would never expect that you need to smack something that's $1000 dollars, but that doesen't make the answer any less stupid or simple.
Imagine how annoyed you'd be if you discovered the solution by accidentally dropping the puzzle while unwrapping it
I will agree that I think the real scam is calling this a level 7 because there is no way it should be marked as that difficulty.
1314zerosktr is the first thing that you think of to solve a puzzle to hit it?
