  • The beginning of it all! It starts here. We are starting down the first 5 books of the Bible, and giving you all the juicy details of your favorite Bible stories.
The actually learning starts at 5:05
It's a slow start, but give it a chance, and the Living Word is going to start to open up, please G-d
Well, you must be excited! We are about to take an amazing adventure together through the Midrash.
The Midrash is ancient biblical commentary. It is a collection of several different works that expound on classical Rabbinic literature.
You're right....that doesnt sound so amazing, but check it out! It might surprise you!
I'm pulling from several different sources.
We will be dabbling in the Midrash Rabba,
the Midrash Tanchuma, and portions of the
Talmud, known as the Aggadah, which means the telling in Aramaic. It is the non legal narrative section of the Talmud, containing
"parables" and anecdotes to help illustrate certain ideas in Jewish ideology.
As I always say...to really get into the Midrash
    you need to believe....
    •Its absolutely literal
    •Its absolutely allegorical
    •Its both
    •Its neither
....all at the same time. Try wrapping your head around that!
    Resources I pull from,
The Midrash Says by Rabbi Moshe Weissman
The Book of Our Heritage by Rabbi Eliyahu Ki Tov
Rabbi Yosef Deutsch has an AMAZING collection of books on the Midrash written in story form.

You have no idea how much I enjoyed this. I'm a Christian, but always love to listen to Jews talk about God. Y'all have a way of bridging knowledge gaps that are not touched on in Christian teaching. I just love it! And that illustration you gave at the end about God resting on the Sabbath was so beautiful. Just made me want to go and spend time with Him.

I’m reading a book by a Rabbi that suggests studying and reading scripture as if they are a collection of dreams. And apply dream interpretation to them. Fun way to study scripture.

    How true .
Noah in the ( closed Ark ) for a year.
Jacob at Yabboc ( dark) before changing to Israel .
Israelites protected at night ( Pescha ) before leaving Egypt .
Moses on Horib ( cloud) before receiving Torah ,
Joshua at Jericho ( night ) before claiming back the land.
PS. Even at birth , we move from darkness ( womb) to light .
Baroukh Hashem for providing through Rabbi Batya ,

The word "Genesis "..is NOT a Hebrew word but part Latin and Greek. And it means:
"Gen" for genes or genoma, and "Esis" for the plural and Latin of IESOUS.
    "THE GENERATIONS OF IESOUS ".
And the word BERESHYITH O BERESHITH, Only means:
    "BEGINNING".
And in every single letter according to the OTIOT chart? It describes the "GOSPEL".
"HELL".. in the Torah appears as "DARKNESS ", where the evil god called jehovah or Yahweh YHWH, dwells and was taking the souls of every human being (Ps. 88:14-18/ 2 Sam. 22:7-12).
    And WHY...you should "repent"?
Because "you didn't want to hear from JESUS, when He first created you, and followed the false god(Rom. 1:18-32) from the old Testament , which blinded your mind"(Job. 8:9/ Isai. 29:10/ 2 Cor. 4:4)
Why the "jews".. do not believe in the REAL CREATOR WHICH IS JESUSCHRIST?
    Jesus called that..god:
"The prince of the power of the AIR ". (Ephs. 2:2)
Because jehová or yahweh YHWH...FLY UPON THE WINGS OF THE WIND (Ps. 18:8-11).
Does God...need a ride been SPIRIT?
