    I think they should stop paying freshman players. So there not making a decision on where there going based on money. Every NIL deal should be under contractual obligation .
    And players can decide weather they want to commit for 1 year or 4. But they should half to honor there deal before transfer.

    • @jasonswitzer1748
      @jasonswitzer1748 Před 14 dny +1

      I agree that contracts need to be in place. But please correct me if I’m wrong, but technically schools can’t pay athletes still… only donors for NIL. If the donors said the contract states a student athlete has to stay at a certain university for a period of time, it would be treated as though the school were a party to the contract, and then they’d be in violation of the “schools can’t pay” rule. Basically, this is a major cluster-F and until it gets solved, the college game will be a hot mess. It’s gotten to the point that I now prefer watching the NFL vs my Alma mater (Go Green, Go White!).

    I agree with Saban on most things. But trying to acheive competitive balance is thrown around to easily.
    There is enough competitive balance currently as is. Programs aren't handicapped too much to allow any random team to win at the highest level within the blink of an eye. Every program must commit an honest effort to truly compete for a championship. Once we get teams that luck their way or back their way into winning a championship the true spirit of college football will be gone.

The purpose of college used to be to prepare you for a career, to prepare you to make MONEY throughout the rest of your life. Your argument makes no sense. Why would he have a problem with being better at his job than anyone else? That has nothing to do with what he’s talking about, at all. Coaches will always try to get the best players that they possibly can, as they should, and some coaches will be better at that than others. That’s not even an issue, though, as long as everyone is playing by the same rules, and no one has any unfair advantages, obviously.
      The fact that certain elite head coaches, like Saban, are superior to the others, because they outwork their competitors, and they’re simply better than them at their jobs, isn’t really the sort of problem that needs to be fixed. It’s not a coach’s job to start slacking off, because he’s been dominating the competition too much, and no one would ever expect such a thing. The inferior competition can’t even complain about that. What are they going to say? “It’s not fair, because he’s already better than we are, and he’s still trying really, really hard.” Ha! Get real!
      No one can blame a great coach for being great. Though there will probably never be another football coach, or leader of any team, who is as great as Saban, there will always be certain coaches who are better than others. I’m sure this might seem like a problem to you, if you’re a fan of one of the teams that he continued to dominate, year after year, but that isn’t a college football problem, though, and it certainly wasn’t his problem, that he was just that much better than your guy.
      It’s funny that you think that the serious problems being discussed in this video, that will give some teams unfair advantages, that other teams won’t have, and will end up destroying the game, if not fixed in time, somehow makes Coach Saban a hypocrite, because he was better at his job than anyone else. That’s just nuts, honestly, and it really shows that you have no real understanding of the situation.
      I guess it should be no surprise, that you seriously believe the GOAT quit, because he “couldn’t compete,” right after his team had just finished going undefeated, in the toughest conference in college football, beating the defending, back to back national champions, to win another championship in that conference, and leading his dynasty back to the playoffs, for the eighth time, in the last 10 years, before losing to the national championship winning team, in overtime.
      It just goes to show how far the GOAT set the bar, I guess, for you to think that an OT loss, in the playoff semifinals, means that he could no longer compete. The SEC championship title, the 12 win season, and the top 5 finish, apparently, didn’t live up to the standards he set, in your eyes, and that really does say a lot, regardless of how little you actually understand about the game.
      Despite the fact that he had the #1 ranked recruiting class in the country, at the time that he retired, and despite the fact that he was expected to compete for his 8th national championship, in the very next season, he still just had to quit, at the young age of 72, because, as you said, he couldn’t compete. That’s really sad, isn’t it? What a loser! 😂
      I mean, sure, a lot of coaches out there would’ve felt like they were pretty competitive, I bet, if they had been in a similar situation, but you make a good point, though, about how amazing of a coach he actually was. Things were a whole lot different in Tuscaloosa, with Saban leading the Tide, than they were anywhere else, clearly.
      Only in Alabama, would anything short of a national championship be considered a disappointing season, but, I guess, that’s the downside to being the best in the world for so long. You should feel pretty fortunate, knowing that you’ll never have to experience anything like that.
      As a non-Bama fan, you’ll never know what it’s like for your team to be expected to win every game it plays, because it’s better than everyone else, year after year. That must be a huge relief, for an expert of the game, and a real football wizard, such as yourself. Ignorance is bliss, as they say, and, there’s no doubt, you are a truly lucky guy 👍🏿

      That's completely idiotic... He worked his whole life and retired as the GOAT. Who are you to even make that statement? Post your resume, and then we can talk...😂
