    The offensive game plan and play calling for FAMU was outstanding in my opinion and the players executed. The interception before halftime was BAD. Take the out route and keep making positive yards. That was a real turning point. I would have loved to have seen a tie game at half. Also, if Moussa continues to perform at that level FAMU will walk the SWAC and he just might get himself some pro looks. Lastly, it was good to see Drake Maye have a great first start performance. Nice kid rep'n for the state of North Carolina. We produce players too!! 🙂

    Why do the HBCUs never play top FCS schools in the non-conference? I think that would be much more interesting. I can't remember the last time one of the top HBCUs played a NDSU, Montana, Eastern Washington, or SDSU. Is there a reason behind this?

    • @Iambigjones
      @Iambigjones Před 2 lety +5

      North Dakota State literally plays North Carolina A&T the second week of the season and Tennessee State just inked a deal to play NDSU in 2024... Also remember the big reason HBCUS take on FBS schools in non conference is because these schools are underfunded by the state and need those FBS games for revenue. Playing teams in the FCS like NDSU and SHSU actually cost the HBCUS more money than it's worth because they are expected to travel for minimal return in a game that their fanbase is not excited about.

    • @JohnnyJuggernaut17
      @JohnnyJuggernaut17 Před 2 lety

      @@Iambigjones that's great to hear. I didn't realize they play them this year. I pay attention to a lot of FCS and I couldn't think of a time in recent years where they played one of those schools. I understand the financial perspective, but many of the other top tier teams in say the big sky and mvfc play each other in the non-conference every year. I wasn't sure if there's any sort of reason that doesn't happen with the HBCUs consistently. If finances is the only reason, that's a bummer.
