    Want to say Ty for this video. Saved me $160labor +50 for parts. Guy say its a lot of difficulties to rewire the mirror. The way he said it made realize he was lying. Got it off amazon 35$ and paid 3$ for a set of the 7ml. So only 38$ oop. A shame that he was gonna rip me off like that. N I did it in less than 10 minutes.

    Thank you for this video! My driver side sunvisor is doing the exact same thing and it broke. Need to replace now that I know how!

    The job went perfectly! Didn't even break the cover. Your video gave me the confidence to try. I suggest to study the new sunvisor carefully to see how the cover clips on. There is a very small gap on the right side where the clip meets the mounting bracket. That appears to be the removable start point. A very small screw driver fit perfect but did not allow any leverage. I used a bent piece of round metal, kind of like a bent large nail. It allowed me to pry and/or pull at that point. BAM it popped open. Thanks again. LOU

    I have a 2014 and have the exact same problem with the visor dropping. Thank you for this DIY video. The cost from the dealer to replace it was ridiculous!

    Does it come with a bulb. I just finished installing mine but won’t light up
    Wondering if im dojng a flase connection or just needs a fuse/ bulb

    • @mikesdoityourself
      @mikesdoityourself  Před 3 lety

      Depends on the manufacturer of the sun visor replacement, it should light up when plugged in and opened. The fuses would be a good place to start if it's supposed to light up. Good luck!- Mike

    I bought a sun visor, but can't rotate the pad, I haven't installed it though. Is it a bad one?

    • @mikesdoityourself
      @mikesdoityourself  Před 3 lety +1

      I would try to install it and then see if you can get the visor to move left or right depending on the orientation of the visor. It may need some persuasion or some lube between the pole and pad depending upon what surfaces they are made out of. Good luck!- Mike

    Did you use a chainsaw to remove that cover??
    I bought one on eBay for a Grand Total of $34.88 with tax and 3 day priority mail.

    Ordering a visor now. Already cut the wires on the one that was hanging down, could not get it unclasped.
    This is frustrating that this cat has so many issues

    • @mikesdoityourself
      @mikesdoityourself  Před 2 lety +1

      Well, if you don't need a lighted mirror- you can cap or tape the wire ends separately and shove them in the headliner hole. Pliers might do the trick of pulling the plastic clasp/connectors apart. Good luck with your project!- Mike

    • @mikesdoityourself
      @mikesdoityourself  Před 2 lety +2

      It's a 7mm socket attached to a socket driver. You could use a socket wrench, 7mm wrench, etc.. Good luck with your project! - Mike

    Link for this sun visor?

    • @mikesdoityourself
      @mikesdoityourself  Před 3 lety +2

      I would leave a link if I had a dedicated supplier but in this case, I chose to buy a compatible sun visor off of EBay- EBay's suppliers, merchandise and quality can vary wildly so I can't recommend any one company. If you give EBAY some general info. about your vehicle, you should be able to find a generic visor that's much less than a dealership. Unless you want Nissan factory parts. I just wouldn't recommend buying a used one off Ebay or any other website. Good luck with your project! - Mike

    Thanks. Nissan is soo cheap. I’m never buying another Nissan vehicle for the rest of my life. I have a 2015 Altima. 54,500 miles. And my interior lights stopped working, passenger and driver side visors are falling. Power steering makes a loud noise occasionally if you don’t have music on. Low beam headlights are a joke (replacing mine currently this week and from what I heard is a huge difference). For gods sake the air intake is in the back of the hood. Why tf is the intake in the back? Smh. Gotta say because I’ve had this pos I’ve learned more than I did before about cars so it wasn’t a total lost. If you have any ideas about why my interior lights don’t work I’d appreciate it man. I’ve heard it could be a fuse. But I’m thinking maybe my wiring might have disconnected because when my visors kept falling I got pissed and tried to rip it off. 🤦🏽‍♂️ then I Velcro’d it to keep it up. Now I just want to replace them cause I hate driving with the sun beaming even with sunglasses. Anyway. Thanks man! I’ll check the wiring and maybe the fuse. Hopefully it’s one of those issues. If not I refuse to take it to Nissan to fix for $4,653 dollars or 47 east payments of $52.87. I made all those numbers up but that’s how much I hate Nissan.

      @mikesdoityourself  Před 3 lety

      Your definitely headed in the right direction when it comes to fixing your interior lights- a power or ground wire issue, or a fuse/relay issue. I haven't researched if there is a specific relay that controls the interior lights. (Maybe not)- It seems all manufacturers have been cutting corners and using cheaper materials the last few years. I've done a few videos with a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder and when I bought it, the majority of the undercarriage was rusty. It came from Tennessee then Las Vegas but it's the amount of rust you might see in a 20 year old vehicle from the southwest region. Good luck with your project!- Mike

      @@mikesdoityourself thanks bud! Yeah honestly. I have driven an older pathfinder from 2007 and that thing ran surprisingly well. But they were also built completely different than the 2019 you currently have. I thought it was the best vehicle Nissan produced especially for SUVs. The rust is absolute horrendous! Sorry you have that on a 2019 vehicle! That is criminal. But hey, hope you’ve learned like I did that a Nissan vehicle no matter a sedan coupe suv or even their trucks, is just a 1 time purchase. I’m going to go back to Toyota. Those things are a different breed. But my next purchase is a tundra so won’t be dealing with cars for a long time. I’m terrified of them because of the way they’re being built these days. All about the technology. 🤦🏽‍♂️

      I agree with u! I own a 2012 Nissan altima coupe and so many things have broken which tells me it is cheaply made. Not only did my driver's visor mirror cover fall off but my fuel cap came loose so every time I get gas, it detaches and then my cigarette lighter cover came off. I take pretty good care of my vehicle because I want it to last and I will never ever buy another Nissan in the future.
