Idk if you noticed but a really cool detail about the 1903 in game is that when you reload after cycling the next round opening the bolt ejects an unspent round so you load another 2 rounds because its an internal magazine
That also happens with the new Remington 700 and Remington 673

That is the rifle my grandfather hunted deer and elk with in the Colorado mountains in the 60s and 70s. I believe he chose it because it was relatively inexpensive as a surplus service rifle, and I think that's why it was a popular hunting rifle in some US regions.

yeah many people got their ww2 weapons passed down and used as hunting guns. makes sense.
M1903 Springfield was used in BOTH world wars and came out in 1903 obviously. In the first world war it was used as a main battle rifle for the US. By ww2 it was used as a sniper rifle after having been replaced by the M1 Garand/M1 Carbine which were both semi auto where the 1903 was a bolt action. It fires the 30-06 (same caliber as the M1 Garand that replaced it).

There's a wolf pack in the area where you look for the red deer with the rifle in its antlers, and that area counts for this mission.

The model we see in-game is the standard World War 1 M1903 Springfield model.
The M1903 Springfield was used in World War 1 as a standard issue rifle and later in World War 2 (as the M1903A1) as the standard issue rifle for the US Marine Corps in the early parts of the Pacific Campaign (later replaced by the M1 Garand) while it had been replaced entirely by the M1 Garand for US Army standard issue service by the US entry into the war.
The M1903 had a straight grip stock, whereas the M1903A1 had a pistol-grip type stock.
The M1903A3, as an upgrade to the M1903A1, changed from the U-notch iron sight to an aperture type sight.
The M1903A4 was the US Army standard sniper rifle in World War 2 and featured a Weaver 2.5x optic. This variant is distinguishable even without the optic by its complete lack of iron sights (both rear and front sight). While the US Army used the M1903A4 Springfield as their sniper rifle, the US Marine Corps fitted a Unertl 8x optic to the M1903A1 model of rifle.

The 1903 is my rifle now! So great on 🦌 and medium game! I love it. I just can’t understand why they chose this military model just like COTW do.....Why not a 30-06 bolt action like the Remington 700 BDL.... Oh well at least it shoots great.😊 I won’t talk about their choice on the 350 Mag.... A caliber not available in stores and you can’t find any ammunition since the 90’s....

That’s my favorite rifle in Way of the Hunter. I’ve hunted with a .30-06 in real life and killed nice whitetail bucks with it. I also hunt with a 6.5 Creedmoor, .243, .308, and a muzzleloader. I’d like to see muzzleloaders in Way of the Hunter.

it is a great rifle.
The 1903 is so powerful it says it's for tier 5 and it absolutely demolishes the mule deer and Whitetail but it barely wastes any meat. I clipped the front of one lung and it drops them

Bro, if you go into photo mode while looking through the scope on PS5 the guys head is looking straight up into the sky and looks like his neck is broken. It's ridiculous! The devs can't leave like this😞
this is why you cinematic cameras are often not used. as you see many angles you wouldnt normally see.

In my the head lamp wash out the blood trail in real life when are looking for blood at night the blood stand out under the light
ideally you should have it out in front of you lighting the area.
IRL you can't hunt 1/2 after sunset.
night time hunting is so different all around the world and why many games dont do it.

are they adding bows anytime soon?
