I made this remix / mashup of Blondie's song "Heart Of Glass" with Miley's live rendition at the iHeart Festival.
Tried my best to "replicate" the "Edge of Midnight Remix" concept from Miley and Stevie Nicks' collab.

After listening to Miley’s version I didn’t expect Blondie to be so calm and serene
Well duh its “blondies” song🤦🏽♀️
Deborah Harry spoke the lyrics with her naturally alluring voice, Miley got a beautiful voice and she screams the lyrics, but Deborah speaks the lyrics and it instantly becomes oh so sexy. Nice tribute, but nobody can top Deborah Harry on her song. Even the young fans who know Miley's very fine version then first check out Blondie's version can immediately hear and see the difference.
That girl Deborah Harry's beautiful face was the poster of NYC's new sound in punk rock danceable music coming about and into the clubs in the 1970s.

Miley screams the lyrics, singing them beautifully, and sounds great. Deborah speaks the lyrics, effortlessly singing them, and sounds sexy. Remembering Blondie from the 1970s. Nobody tops the original.
Miley does do a fine job anyway you can tell she is paying a tribute introducing many younger fans to Blondie's .music. She gives a rocking performance, opposed to the laid back cool, punk rock danceable feel of Blondie. You just can't beat that awesome groove. 1970s Blondie brings back a lot of good memories. Younger generation gets a glimpse of older generation's nostalgia in this song. Deborah preceded other worldclass singers/performers Madonna, Shakira, Miley, etc. She is the best of them, all. IMO.

She wrote this with her co-writer and companion, founder of and a guitarist in Blondie. I think that Miley is doing her best paying tribute to Blondie. That is a nice way of thinking about it, I guess. It is really impossible to do this song and get compared with the original, Doesn't matter who else does it, you're going to lose to the original, Deborah Harry.

It was sexy, impenetrable, and other worldly. She was perfection. She's a white gold masterpiece of womanhood, that today's singers lack. You don't have to tell the whole world your life story, leave a whole lot of it to mystery. Thats what Deborah Harry was in that era, a woman of mystery. And her voice was amazing. I like both versions for different reasons. I loved Blondie from the first time I saw her on Dicks Rock n New Years. She was one of my all time favorites. Her voice can be soft and gentle or with more pizazz like One Way or the Other.
Miley on the other hand made the song her own by not performing it with the gentle tones Blondie uses. It made it more rock than pop or punk and gave an edge to it. So there shouldn't be a comparison because they both sang it differently with different styles...
I was so in love in with Blondie in the 70's and 80's. Miley doesn't even come close with sound... or looks.

Watching Miley's career force you to remember what a rockstar singer's career is like over time. Coming from early begginings on Disney nobody respects a head on aproach to rock music, I was one of those, but she made me remember that everyone suffers from the same in the industry and now I really really like her aproach and her way of showing she really loves the music. And what better way to do that is with a homage to the great female rebels, because it's toguh to be a rebel this days.
