This band was totally ahead of its time. Her face and the bands performance is out of this world!
Back in the days, I always saw them as more or less a copy of Sparks (Ron and Russel Mael). This song is very similar in style to what they did in 1973-74.
But Blondie were great! Just like the Police and similar bands at the time.
She'd look good fucking.
Was very much of its time. Downtown nyc punk and new wave combined with funk and calypso. Nothing like anything today. 🙄
Her face was absolutely classically perfect and talented to the nth degree. Band was excellent. I say bring back real women!
I forgot how important "WE are Blondie" was
@Steve Ross THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.
I feel the same thing with Queen!
I've just said that I forgot how many fuckin brilliant songs she sang a touch of class
Can't say we because of those bitches. We need there parts to huh
Matt Tobin then it must not have been that important after all.
Blondie is a fantastic band. Great musicians and the best female frontman ever
This band is fantastic. The groove in this tune is freaking tight. Awesome vocals! No autotune!!
What band was auto tuned before the early 2000s and even then it wasn't used much until the late 2000s and 2010s
@@jamescarpenter855 Hardly any. I was comparing the pre auto tune era with the current "it's now the norm" autotune world of entertainment, both recorded and live.
i hate pop music now because of autotune
but also how they sing
@@hjillumi880 They're getting rid of drums and replacing them with "snap tracks" and "clap tracks" where fingers snapping or hands clapping largely make up the beat. Everything is sounding the same. It's even wrecking country music and making it sound like pop. In rock and pop, it's making it all sound generic. Live drums are the only way to go unless you're in a techno or synth focused band.
this is however playback. It's the album version even.
The transition of her voce from silky smooth to tobacco pack growl, from airy high to baritonic low is a marvel. She is of course visually stunning, but her vocal range is so under appreciated.
As talented as she was beautiful. She was the complete package.
Maybe debbies best vocal performance ever , ❤
Yes,
@@nickcolby1391 is she singing this live though🤔
@@pauldonohoe3646 definitely not , I’m saying her voice on this song on parallel lines is in my opinion her best
When she says “We are Blondie.” It gives me goosebumps
Haha it reminds me of April Ludgate haha
gay?
Same thing happened to me
I thought she was going to say: "We are Blondie. And we play Rock and Roll."
Are you kidding/? Why?
It's crazy how modern she looks, if she suddenly appeared in 2021 looking like that no one would think she's out of fashion
Literally, even her makeup is more in line with modern fashion than what everyone else was doing in 1979
Except the tattoos and box die …that’s how you can identify todays “fashion”
@@Sigueme1 I think she was so pretty, what she wore made no difference. Some of her clothes were ridiculous, but no-one cared.
Except for the ‘au natural ‘ boobs!!
lols OK, kid.
I love that undeniable growl in her voice like she has so much desperation, really makes the song and she’s so beautiful too
I dislike it intensely. I love her voice but on the few occasions when that throat situation is audible, I cringe.
@@blackmore4 i read your comment and I cringe
@@FlourescentPotato Even though, as I said, I love her non-growl voice (to the point of owning most of her work)? Different opinions are having too much of an emotional impact these days.
@@blackmore4 audible throat situations are having too much of an emotional impact these days.
@@FlourescentPotato Haha, too true ;)
She was so beautiful. I wish we would never grow old.
A lot of young people never age. I've been to a few of their funerals.
@@kerriwilson7732 Yup, so true, the shortness of life and fewness of the saved. :-)
Lol. Your wish is granted!
She's 76 years old right now and still beautiful
She still hasn't aged lol
She literally made a song about stalking someone sound so good.
Always liked this song............
Song written about one of her boyfriends her stalked her..
Reminds me when I did stalked him.❤️
She nearly got picked up by Ted Bundy but luckily escaped some how
She can stalk me anytime.
A really clever evocation of longing quite brilliantly sung with a fantastic ensemble. Really cheeky and ironic. I love this.
Just too beautiful for words. She makes supermodels look plain.
I never get tired of classic-era Blondie. Never. They were the best then.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I start to discover it more deeply.
No one does,
The best stalker song ever made
Debbie looked fantastic. One of the most beautiful women in her prime 😍 wow
Just saw her at Bourbon and Beyond at 78 years old and she ruled the crowd! She's an icon and I feel blessed to have seen her live!
I never think of age when I watch good music videos. Wow 78
Nice to hear that she is still out there singing thats awesome.
This song freaked me out as a kid. I felt like she was gonna come out of the radio and take me lol. Great vocal performance.
Take me 🤣
It would have been a (wet) dream come true!
She probably wouldn't take you. She probably would just drive past your house. And if the lights were all out, she'd follow you downtown to see who's hanging 'round.
Ok
Same here, I heard it a lot during the 90s and this song always scared me. Still does at 34.
The thing I like is that more than anything, she looks like she's just having tons of fun singing the song!
Why not? She wrote it.
She's lip-syncing.
@@donnahdunthorn5207 And high
I discovered this performance last week. It's been in my head ever since. They eyes she gives to the camera. Her voice. Her movements and facial expressions make it awesome.
When stalking was cool especially when you had nothing better to do.
This was a great album when it first came out. And a few years later, this was the first popular band I heard that played a rap song (Rapture) or a Reggae song (The Tide is High). Very talented musicians.
Best looking female singer ever, probably not everyone sees her that way but in my eyes she'll always be 😍😍
She is very fit lol
Yes Jim, she is absolutely stunning, massively sexy...
i do ;)
She has been a role model, for some of the female singers, who came after her, I know Gwen Stefani was inspiered by her‼️
shes an amazing talent, theres about 3 or 4 different singing styles in this tune alone and she does every one better than anyone else could...…… ground breaking band ….. and peerless ...
What is perless. Paperless ?
NOW SHE JUST BREAKS THE GROUND WHEN SHE WALKS ON IT. DEBORAH HEAVY.
@@timothyh6670 ?
u r absolutely right....this theme got a mix of genres : Disco with Punk (basic rythms on drums), Rock and Roll and Pop! (guitars all around & giving some background the theme)......Bass and Keyboards (making bridges and doing the transitions)..............and the Voice?...Well, leading the stage while Running everything (rythm and changes) with precision and sweet energy!!
@@timothyh6670 she has no equals , basically, and her talent is unique to her.
She seems like such a genuine person and I would love to be her friend
Kick ass
Hope in line lol
HILARIOUS that you say this in response to a video in which both the lyrics and her facial expressions are sending the message "I'm a dangerous psycho" hahahaha
Debbie Harry, the Gorgeous Supermodel Psycho Stalking Rocker!! 💘 🎶 I love it!! 🌈 🎸
My mother who was born in 1946 loved Blondie
Incredible band, Clem is one of the most under rated drummers ever.
💯👋👋👋🙏 well said!!! union city blue & dreaming are untouchable from Clem.
Love Clems drumming All the original Blondie group awesome
He's always in the conversation as one of the best ever, so I don't think he is underrated 🤷
Él es fantástico.
Hottest female rocker ever.
I might argue that Pat Benetar was up there
Wilson sisters from Heart too.
Joan Jett
arguably a truth . she definitely is in the top 5 hottest female rockers of all time . Joan Jett, Debbie Harry, Madonna, Cher, Sade, Rhianna, Nena, the ladies from the Bangles . Vanity, Gwen Stefani Christina Aguilera, Shakira a couple of others.. but yes Blondie at top of the list for sure..... great voice . great dance moves.. beautiful face sultry style.. timeless music.. yep Blondie way up on the top of my list too.. in my top 3 all time female rocker list for all categories.. good music, great voice, and sex appeal.. she hits a ten in all those areas..
Bryan Calhoun when they say rocker they did mean rock music
To be stunningly beautiful and to have a quirky expression is irresistible. She was and is out of this world. Great band.
One of the best bands of that era
Her outfits are timeless! 😍
My absolute FAVORITE from Blondie that should have been NUMBER ONE on the charts in 1979!
Agree
She was realy a Must have for Our generation..
Why did I have to be born so late this looks so awesome. I love this woman! ROCK ON BLONDIE

Absolutely gorgeous Debbie ❤❤ love you always x
Best looking Rock/punk singer ever..No one..even now a days can compare to her😀
I love Debbie Harry's makeup when she was in blonde in every clip her Makeup looks beautiful No one comes close
Belinda Carlisle pre- and post-GoGos.
@@davidkendrick4453 she was a make up artist though
Debbie Harry knows more than me, you can see it in her eyes. I was honored to see you perform in 2022 in Detroit.
A true heart of a man, top top top man ❤
The guitars on the intro always sounds like the first time
Amazing piece of music
Awesome blast from the past. Debbie, you still rock today!
Blondie were amazing! The soundtrack to my youth! ❤
Debbie is timeless. I was about 10 when this was released and the airplay for essentially a punk song was astounding.
Love and miss the 80s
Give credit to whats do ,, This was the 70s I will tell EVERY ONE THIS WAS 1978 ,,,
What a rocker. Proudly singing like a maniac about stalking - gitcha gitcha gitcha!
Shame its a 'live' lip sync performance lol.
This is a true live performance (link below) from a 1982 Blondie concert:

One way or another this song is going to get you!
My favourite Blondie song!
Always remember you Louise!
I want to go back in time right now Love Blonde !!!
A friend of mine once called this possibly the best stalker song ever written.
yeah, but if they're Debbie, who's going to complain?
@@witssen9954 Another top contender. Of course, in order to have a best of something, there must be more than one of that something.
why you all cry stalker? are you Police, corrupt government guy?
you freaks don't understand it!
@@lucasrem the police did too make a song about stalking, it's titled "Every breathe you take"

Love it! She is so gorgeous
I had the pleasure of watching Blondie live back on 2003. They were impeccable.
I was humming this today, for no reason, and then I thought its the perfect song for the pandemic, one way, or another, Im going find ya!
I decided it should be played at my funeral, to worry my enemies!
We are so gifted in 2023 to enjoy 1979 I used to know the words to Blondie God Has Blessed Blondie and us. TY
No digital remastering, no vulgarity on stage. Only talent and analog tech!
Yup, straight to lip syncing!
Ward Cleaver would approve!!!!
No plastic surgery either 🤣
She's iconic, timeless.
A true goddess
Love that drummer, Clem Burke, really smacks those drums
Clem was briefly "Elvis Ramone" with the Ramones! He is an astounding talent.
Clem has the honour of being the only drummer ever to be on my bedroom wall. I'm a drummer and I've made my living from music for about 30 years. He was always a favourite of mine and quite underrated IMHO.
The drummer is awesome!!
Clem Burke is one of the best drummers in the world
Yeah he kills it
One of the most iconic bands of the day and this was a great song from an incredible album.
Hello Alinson Thank you Alinson
Stunningly beautiful in every way
Perfect in all the ways.
It's such a pity she became a heroin addict.
I appreciate her talent even more now than back in the day... and yeah her incredible beauty
Beautiful woman.
Great band too!!!
Middle, late seventies was just the best for music!!
Music was best in the late 70’s.
John Pirie I'd say early 70s
100%
? The Jazz and blues era, the rock era in the 50's, the Beatels era in the 60's.
In terms of rock 1970 to 1975 are my favorite years
How cool she is! And the voice and facial expressions, and the whole appearance, with which at least immediately to start the role of Harley Queen))
My fav !!!
Who else rises out of mist introducing every member of her band. And saying WE, are Blondie.
I love her voice. She was a Pioneer in so many way.
BE FOR THE INTERNET!! BEAUTIFUL BLONDIE❤️🌻🥀
Stunningly beautiful!! Unreal!
Awesome music of awesome time 80 beginning wish i can go back
I was in my early teens when Blondie came out - it was the new direction women should or could or would go for sure...
Thank you Debbie for being yourself
Thumbs Up !
Прошло время ,десятки лет - на улице 2022 лето ,а они все равно одни из лучших...
БРАВО ...
Es ist einfach vom Olymp.
Even at 11, I could appreciate the stalkerish lyrics of this ridiculously catchy song.
I loved her growl, and the "...I'll trick ya, I'll trick ya!" line.
She was ahead of Her times.... So modern loking woman.
This was really live, awesome performance.
"One Way or Another" was my introduction to New Wave. I still remembering hearing it played while I shopped at Ragstock (second hand clothes) in downtown Minneapolis.
aliaslisabeth1031 Omg 😮 Ragstock! Lake Street Baby (I kno Ragstock isn’t Lake Street but I am). Ragstock was Dinkytown at one point... I remember either it moving or there being more than one location. I got a banging outfit from Ragstock I used to rock on the stroll. U heard me! Little bikini crop top with bows & miniskirt, both in pumpkin.
Lisa B. I love ragstock!!
Beautiful!!!!!
Icons forever and ever
Exactly. No point in investing more information into my awareness without my King 🎈🛸⚖️
She's like Madonna but just sexier and with talent!
Debbie looks better TODAY than Madonna ever did. She was HOT!
@@GioGio-fq1vl I totally agree with you,
