Edit: Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and you are entitled to disagree on things so trivial like this. But don’t be disrespectful in doing so, because it does not show you as a superior being, more like you are too immature to be respectful.
The original is for when you just found out that your partner cheated on you and you decided that you’re going on a road trip. So you’re driving on the freeway listening to this song reminiscing, heartbroken and crying.
Miley’s cover is when you’ve finally said fuck it and went to go celebrate that you got someone you didn’t need out of your life. So you’re getting ready for a night out and karaoke this song singing your heart out thinking how silly you were for being so hurt over that person (although I know I won’t sing as good as Miley Cyrus lol).
    Both versions are amazing!!

Someone who's trained, is comfortable, confident, has good rhythm etc will be great at improv and choreographed routines. Most singers do just boo to music naturally as they feel it like Blondie is as they're not trained dancers who are trying to showcase their dance. People can be stiff and awkward just standing there without good rhythm and feel and confidence aswell, Blondie is comfortable that's why she looks good and is having fun and her presence is great

The band is great. The songs are interesting and deep on paper. And Debbie Harry helped write some of them. I don't mean to overstate, but it seemed like they came up with a Marilyn Monroe who could sing. A real "it-girl," not somebody you could make up to look better if necessary She never looked better or more charismatic than the video for "Heart of Glass." She was no spring chicken when she hit, and not much of a body, but she persevered with that waif figure and boyfriend who helped invent new-wave and the Keith Moon of new-wave drumming Clem Burke. For some reason I think of Debbie Hardy and Sid Viscous as the queen and king of punk rock/ New wave.

Hard to believe they were a punk rock band whose music was so bad that the producers at the studio cut them off in the middle of their demo song, he then told them if they wanted to make music in America they would need to switch to another genre and gave them their current music.

Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out had a heart of glass
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
    Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind
Once I had a love and it was divine
Soon found out I was losing my mind
It seemed like the real thing but I was so blind
    Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind
    In between
What I find is pleasing and I'm feeling fine
Love is so confusing, there's no peace of mind
If I fear I'm losing you it's just no good
    You teasing like you do
Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out had a heart of glass
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
    Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind
    Lost inside
Adorable illusion and I cannot hide
I'm the one you're using, please don't push me aside
We coulda made it cruising, yeah
La, da, da, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, da, da, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, da, da, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
Yeah, riding high on love's true bluish light
    Ooh, oh, ooh, oh
    Ooh, oh, ooh, oh
Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out to be a pain in the ass
Seemed like the real thing only to find

A perfect pop song. And Debbie Harry combining 'cool' and 'beautiful', which is a pretty rare combo.

    1999.
My friends and i were in a pizza hut in our town.
They had a juke box and this song was on it.
We put 5 bucks in and played this song on repeat.
Eventually (about 4 plays in) an employee went straight to the box and unplugged it.
Boycotted that Hut for 20 years.
    Worth it.
