It's good to see Christopher Duncan doing well. I would love to see him in more roles!
Yes, this Brother is a TRUE Brother💯!
He doesn’t carry the clown 🤡 persona of a Jester all day.
He is amazing actor
He’s in swagger on Apple TV
Original gangsters is a classic 😂
Personally, I think he should have taken Alex Trebeks spot (RIP). But that's just my opinion
This brother is serious. Hollywood is so limiting. He should get way more dramatic roles.
He’s WORKING. Why do people keep assuming he’s not. He keeps telling you he mostly gets drama roles. You just haven’t tapped in to his movies.
@@NoLineNoWait123AbCI think the OP is referring to how Hollywood always tries to "typecasts" certain actors after obtaining big iconic comedic/villan roles.
He definitely works but sadly its not a huge impact. Too bad bc he's a terrific actor.👏🏼
How do you know what kinda actor he is? He played Braxton lol now he a terrific actor man gtfoh

Y’all be throwing this legend word around loosely

Garrett Morris is a living legend and icon. From _SNL_ to _Martin_ to _Jamie Foxx_ to _2 Broke Girls_ not to mention he was in TWO 70s classics (both _Car Wash_ and _Cooley High_ great films).
Also television series Hunter
And roc
I could listen to this brother speak about his craft for hours. Hats off to Christopher!
Definitely ASMR!!
Yeah he could definitely narrate audio books.
@@Persephonie22 yep
Ask him any question about it and he will 😂 Interviewed him before and each answer was at least 10 minutes with 18 side stories
👀
The interviewers silence as Christopher Duncan paints the picture completely 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 #appreciated
Im glad he got the uncle role in Jamie fox because his character was better and more iconic
Right
Agreed.
Sure was!
God works in mysterious ways
Eh. I think one kinda helped the other fr
Stan and Shawn were great characters and I do miss their presence in the later years. It was a huge oversight not having Garrett Morris and Jonathan Gries on the 30th anniversary reunion last year. Garrett Morris is a legend and needs his flowers now!
I agree 1,000,000% wit u !!!!!!!!!!!! They were main characters of the show and definitely should've been a part of the reunion show
@@cwilliams7908 It was kinda dirty how they couldn't even get a mention lol.
I also found it weird that Stan and Shawn didn’t get a mention, when Martin started out at the station, and was there for 2 seasons. How do you skip that? We always saw Stan and Shawn during that time. Aren’t they even in the opening credits for those seasons? How do you not mention your additional characters?
Duncan is other-level acting. He is strictly in it for the craft. MAD respect for him because he was this way BEFORE The Jamie Foxx Show and remains the same serious actor today.
I wish Chris Duncan could have been added to the Star Wars or Marvel series
💯
Plenty of characters roles in those franchise!
He would b a dope Jedi Master
He’d be good as Grand Admiral Thrawn
A black Obi would have choked the young Anakin out 😂
He went straight into villain mode when he was talking about the directors. It gave me the chills.🙏🏾
You see his whole demeanor change.
Sounded goofy just like the character in Original Gangsters but I get it

Garrett Morris is a legend. I love him in every show he has starred in.
Christopher Duncan a excellent actor one of my favs❤❤❤❤❤
Seeing him first as Braxton then as a gangsta wearing a durag as Spyro had me dying of laughter as a kid. Still funny til this day
I saw it in reverse lol
I looked it up as soon as he mentioned it and it was funnier than the Braxton character
Lmao it’s just so hard to see him as anything but Braxton !
SMH
You keep people stucc in a character
The way Chris Duncan's face lit up upon mentioning Garrett Morris! That's love frfr! ❤️
This man is incredibly passionate about the craft of acting, it's a shame that the people who have passion like this for an artform are the ones who get shunned, rejected and marginalized, because a lot of people think that this level of passion is corny.
Coupled with the fact that cheap one offs could bring big bucks n huge ROI….
And this day and age wit sequels just MILLLLKING a fanbase it’s definitely messed up
I really think it’s more intentional marginalization, because they see tall, strong, intelligent brothers as threats. They did him an injustice on the Jamie Foxx Show casting him as a corny uptight nerd. I was looking forward to the TV series where he played POTUS being a long-lived series but nope…….pulled.
Him, Blair Underwood, Boris Kodjoe and a host of other brothers (who should have been perennial top-leading men) have been intentionally marginalized by Hollywood; replaced by shuck-n-jive clowns or relegated to one of Tyler Perry’s ‘Chitlins, Cheetos and Kool-Aid’ shows.
Where is Curtis Jackson
@@Inmo2024u hurt lol
He went to that dark place in this interview. Great actor!
Christopher P. Duncan plays some very impressive roles, but his role as Spiro was extremely intimidating. That brother can act 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
His middle initial is "B". You've been corrected.
He so good. I got chills as he was setting up the scene. Brilliant at his craft.
So heartbreaking this happen to him. Mr. Morris open the door for so many Ppl.
I hated when Martin took away the radio station off the show, Garret & the white guy was funny! Garret is one of the comedians who opened the doors for comedians like Martin! Martin was disrespectful for treating Garret this way! That’s why he got Karma ! Don’t mistreat anyone and think it’s not going to flip back on you one day!
@@vetgirl71 Very Well Said
Garrett did come back for an episode, when Martin and Gina opened "Rent Em Spoons" restaurant.
He was wearing an african dashiki and was Tommy's African connection.
They explained that he hitched a ride with "some brothas (aka OJ Simpson)" driving a white ford bronco...
then realized the police were chasing them... and Stan said he just remembers waking up in a hospital...
So, although it was not cool to cancel his role, he was on good enough terms to make a cameo
appearance... later on
If the writers/producers write you out what then that’s that! It’s the show business. How long y’all expected Martin to work in the damn radio station!?
How is it heartbreaking! Show business is show business get over it 🙄
This man deserves a chance somebody please give him acting role.
I mean, he's been steady acting for years. He's on a show on Apple + right now.
😂😂😂 I was gonna say he booked and busy lol
You all are sorry as they come. You love a pity story, and even if it isn’t one you make it one. PAY ATTENTION

Christopher looks like Will Smith.
I remember Garrett Morris had a recurring role on the tv show Hunter. He played Sporty James. He’s such a great actor!
My fave Garrett movie was CAR WASH

A completely different person.
Christopher Duncan was talking about how a lot of actors(not just him) aren't taken serious for other roles, in movies/TV shows after playing a specific niche character (such as only casts in a comedic role or only the villain, or only the auntie/uncle/grandparent role. Some producers only see you in just one vein of acting, which we all know isn't right nor fair to these actors.
I'm glad he is working, and we want to see him and other actors(that have been typecasted in the past) in a lot more roles and even bigger budget productions. These actors deserve a lot more recognition 💯
Clifton Powell talked about how he auditioned for MANY roles, yet they kept casting him as the villain because he was dark skin and played the villain so well. He says he was even beat out for a role and it went to a light skin actor. I swear I think he’s talking about Dead Presidents and Terrance Howard’s role as Cowboy.
I was happy to see him in black lightning. Another classic our people kinda slept on. Go and watch! I need for someone to give him another big role he has so much left in him.
Yeah. He tried to do another sitcom called "The First Family" which came out during the Obama era, but it didn't last long, despite having an interesting premise and a really talented cast.
I agree wholeheartedly!
@@MisterE1976 I also remember seeing him on an episode of The Resident as Kits ex husband.

This is a great interview. I love listening to people who can articulate their points well.
I love the interview although the interviewer was lacking in depth but Mr Duncan was very insightful and his boldness says a lot about him
He needs his own CZcams, and I need him in a historic piece 🌟
If you watched Original Gangstas you’ll see he played Spyro perfectly. My honest opinion, he fits the villain category better ! Wanted to see him in more action films.
- Hollywood witness you nail a role they thought you couldn’t and say “nah stop this guy, he’s too good ! keep him in a box.”

I’m currently rewatching all episodes of the Jamie Foxx show, so this is very refreshing to see
I had to pause the video when the movie Extremities was mentioned because anybody who grew up in the 80's like I did knows how much of a classic film that was. Extremities is a film that I still watch now and it still has the same impact on me and my family as viewers. I had no idea it was a play. If Christopher played the role of Joe in the play, I would definitely love to see his take on this role. If you have not seen this film I highly recommend it.
I didn’t understand back in high school why my Theatre teacher recommended my duet partner I select Extremities.
😳 3:03 When someone starts with “Well, as I said to you earlier…” that’s a queue to stop asking the same questions about negativity and drama to minimize his range of work beyond the Jamie Foxx Show!
Stan aka Ucle Junior, Mr. Garrett Morris is hilarious!
Is that Braxton P Hartnabrig?
He was hilarious in The Jamie Foxx show 😂
he was on martin and jaime fox show almost the same time
Yeah, he thankfully transitioned from one show to the next pretty smoothly

It was like a 2 year gap unless you can't the time he returned for a guest appearance
Im so glad I found this channel
He definitely played that character in that movie good. It was weird seeing him G’D up after watching him play Braxton but thinking about it he played it well
Salute to this Super-Talented Brother, has Great Range as an Actor. Thank You for so many memorable characters Mr. Duncan.
Christopher is talking about his role in original gangsters
I like when he’s telling his story of auditioning for a role different from an Upscale role & as he’s telling his story you can in-vision what he‘s saying while not realizing that he’s such a smooth talker & luring you in.
Shot out to the rest of the Cast of Original Gangstas 👌🏾 😅 😂
Dude plays a mean bad guy character. I was surprised when the Braxton character came. And he played it perfect. Good dude.

Hollywood is a cold business smh
Cold game and you have mfs defending this shit, saying business is business. Business breeds sociopathy
Chris definitely strikes as macho and a bruiser when it comes to his real personality. Goes to show how great of an actor he is because all of his nerdy roles may have you convinced… but no, dude definitely seems very solid.
Chris Duncan is a great character actor with an awesome resume! He should be in the Marvel Movies ! He would be great as a villain or a hero!
Garrett morris as uncle junior kind of reminds me of how tisha Campbell and tichina Arnold both was know for pam and Gina but they completely won with other notable characters like when tisha went my wife and kids and tichina went to everybody hates Chris which both was successful
Truth.
Might be a bit of a controversial opinion, but Christopher B. Duncan CARRIED the Jamie Foxx Show.
I couldn’t agree more, I didn’t find Jamie Foxx funny. I didn’t appreciate Foxx until Ray then I realized he’s a better actor than comedian compared to Martin who’s have me rolling

LOVE GARRET MORRIS! Met him at his little comedy club he was throwing downtown n LA circa 2012 and he could not have been any sweeter and kind salt of the earth human being! Christopher B Duncan is a great actor. In Original Gangsters, he embodied that role. He has the range to stretch outside of character and return. Extremities is an extreme closeup of a predator and his intended victims who eventually confesses. Only a skillful actor could portray a character that is manipulative and sadistic, yet return to themselves.
