My mare has lots of main on both sides, so what I like to do is braid tail and main completely and leave it for a couple of days or maybe even weeks and when I undo it its all curly ❤
Vanilla Fox I absolutely love when horses have incredibly long and curly manes, I think it’s the cutest thing ever ☺️ my mare’s mane and tale are pretty much the same way so I have no intent on cutting them short more than a slight trim, if it’s in the way I’ll braid it lol.
Thank you for this amazing video!! This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm going out to try this on my little "Minnie" my miniature horse. I hope mine looks as good as yours!!
It would be such a blessing if my horse would EVER stay still when I try braiding his mane. Even when I brush he won't stay still it's super annoying yet my friends laugh at me because I try to get him ready for pony club, and then when I'm finished and he is perfectly white he goes and rolls in the dirt 😂😂😂😂
Awesome been looking for something to do for my girls first photo shoot, you have delivered me the goods! Haha love your model and your cute little donkey
I saw a comment where you said he had skin cancer (sorry for your loss) but howd you find out that he had it? I have a paint mare and im worried about it.
Fantasy cowgirl He always had regular vet visits, he developed these wart like bumps on his face that were skin cancer and we started freezing them. His face always got badly sun burned before I owned him. So as soon as I could I started putting sunscreen and fly masks on him and keeping him in his stall as much as possible. His face eventually grew back fur and was no longer blistered but it was too late. I did everything I could. It was heartbreaking. Keep your baby safe ❤️
Maddiiee White my grand daughter has the same last name as you and she loves horses!! And we have some at our house and she always loves to ride them and she has been riding since she was so little and she still does, and I am so sorry about your horse. My granddaughter, Maycee white, has a paint horse as well and we also have another horse also. With brown hair on her body and a black tail and a black main.
Did you just use regular rubber bands? My trainers going out of town and I get to take care of her horses and I wanted to braid my lease horses hair like this
Do you think this would work with a welsh cob? cause their necks are kinda built in a weird way and aren’t straight. Also, how long did it take you to do this in real life? I have a show tomorrow and I wanna try this just not sure if I’ll have enough time time
-Addy - it should work fine! I would use a wax safe for horses if you have stubborn hairs. And it does take some time so I’d plan for like an hour or 2 just to be safe!
@@-addy-8524 Not sure if you still have/ride your Welsh, but a couple tips for doing manes on straight necks vs curved/arched. Braids can be used for more than just keeping a mane nice and neat; they can also be used to visually change the shape of the neck. I have found that running braids look great on both, buttons/rosettes look great on arched, and banded works best on straight. Scallops can make a straight neck look more curved, while a Descending Running can straighten an arch. It's all dependent on how you want to present your horses neck. Also keep in mind that certain classes require specific braids. :)
I would take scissors and trim the bottom hairs, do you have a cleaning regimen ? For the horse and the donkey, and do you shoe the horse often?? I don't own farm animals and have no clue how to take care of their needs except if their hungry.... I admire people who own large animals.
Tink Ie I did have a cleaning regimen for my horse and a different one for the donkey. Both are barefoot. Unfortunately my horse had skin cancer that developed before I had him, we fought it for years but he started to slowly get worse and worse and had to be put down in March. It was the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever had to deal with. He was my best friend.
