For context on the "Hordak" thing: Hordak was the original villain on the planet of Bright Moon, he was a defective clone who was trying to use the power and magic of the planet of Bright Moon to go back to Horde Prime, the clones are supposed to be apart of a singular mind, therefore one with an identity and even their own name is wrong in Horde Prime's eyes. Despite this, he still went back to Horde Prime and caused Prime to find the planet of Bright Moon, but when Hordak was trying to make a portal to Prime, he met Entrapta and they became great friends or "just lab partners" in his stubborn eyes. Entrapta even made that purple crystal as a data chip with upgrades for Hordak since his body was defective. So when Entrapta saw a crap ton of people looking just like her best friend she immediately wanted to bring him back. So "Wrong Hordak" the clone they found wasn't him, but the clone at the end who said her name was Hordak. Horde Prime isn't even a conqueror, he's a destroyer. In a diff episode he's having dinner with Glimmer and Catra and as a power move he states that the food they're eating is the last in every universe because he killed everyone and everything from that planet. anyways that was my yap sesh but to reiterate, Horde Prime is the green guy with 5 eyes, Hordak is the defective clone that is shown in the first season with Navy Hair and red teeth/eyes.

Hey so fun fact, Catra "dies" nine times in the series, with this fall being ninth. There are eight events where she should've died, but because she's a cat, she survives. However, when she falls, she loses her ninth life, and so She-Ra uses her healing powers to revive her (also apparently Adora crawls because she broke her legs [she loves Catra _that_ much] and finally being able to summon She-Ra again heals her). According to the creator, they weren't allowed to confirm Catra died in the show, but they had her VA do super labored breathing to imply it.

Yes, Catra actually died. She died when She-Ra reached the ship with Bow and Glimmer.
One of She-Ra’s powers that are shown from the first season are healing powers, but this is the first and only time shown to bring someone back to life.
Also, also, yes, Glimmer does have trauma on the ship. She was held hostage on board for a while, Catra got her out at her own expense.
@@alecrunner7914 Clinically speaking yes, Catra died. Though she was in that limbo like state of clinical death where if intervention occurs, can possibly be brought back (which Adora did).
Though I like to think that Adora couldn’t do this multiple times or for anyone else, as it would make her powers as She-Ra seem too god like & we’ve seen her have limitations with her magic before, which helps keep her grounded as a person & not an almighty being.
I think it’s probably a mixture of both things, I mean She-Ra’s powers are driving mostly by love so her bringing Catra back to life in a god like way isn’t too much of a stretch for me. But also yeah, she does feel op compared to what she’s struggled with before.
To be fair, Bow literally faced a bomb at point blank range in season 4 (referring to those pulse robots). She-ra was able to heal him from that, so uh I dunno if Catra was the first time, I guess the only first confirmed time.
@@thefattestdragon8451 no doubt Bow WOULD have died if not for Adora but then again, he also should’ve had limbs blown off with how close he was caught up in the blast but they took plot liberties there by showing him as more alive than Catra was when she got hurt, whereas Catra’s mortal injuries were treated more realistically in terms of the state she was left in after falling from such a height 😵 then again, the emotional weight was on a whole other level ❤️🔥

This hits so hard after all the conflict between Catra and Adora before (Catra is one of the main antagonists). Also, if I remember correctly, this is the first time she transforms into She-Ra after a couple of episodes, and she even gets a new form, so it's extra epic.
13:25 basically it was because Wrong Hordak was electrocuted simultaneously to being disconnected, which glitched out the system of his neck chip, that's why he was freed
Same thing that happened to Catra basically, though the chips given to catra and the other etherians seem to indeed have some kind of failsafe?
@@Houtblokje The others do have failsafes, but Wrong Hordak's chip had its internal wiring exposed since he was still plugged in; so the shock went where it was supposed to go to shut it down.

Wrong Hordak does indeed stick around later has a worse identity crisis that results in him permanently breaking awway from Horde Prime, and gets a happily ever after with Entrapta and (real) Hordak.
Unfortunantly, he never gets a new name. But that's okay, because he learns how to wink instead!

Horde Prime is basically what if you crossed Jim Jones with Emperor Palpatine
Catra is actually dead after the fall, the show doesn’t make it explicit since its for younger audiences but the creator confirmed that was the intention of the scene. Adora also shattered her own legs jumping after her as well. She uses She-Ra’s magic to heal and then resurrects Catra on the ship.
This came just in time. I literally just finished rewatching SheRa like a week ago.

The fact that this show has so many similarities with The Owl House is uncanny. Hell even Horde Prime's VA was on TOH after this show aired to voice another beloved character!! HIGHLY recommend watching both this show and TOH and react to them PLEASE!!!

I'm pretty sure Catra actually dies in this episode and when Adora gives her the glow-y hug she gets revived
So the Hordak thing --- Hordak was a "defective" clone who was stranded in the dimension of Despondos, which is basically an empty universe, but Etheria (the planet the main characters are from) had ALSO been stuck in Despondos by the last She-Ra for ~Reasons~, so he wound up there and waged war for Horde Prime, etc., except by giving himself a name he'd "betrayed" Prime (even though he remained loyal to the empire for all that time), so he was brainwashed as soon as he returned. Only, that purple diamond thing was a magic-tech battery Entrapta had made for him to prevent him deteriorating, but it had also sorta been a declaration of affection written in a magic language, hence breaking through the memory loss.
Also, yes, Wrong-Hordak does become a regular character. I think there's a scene compilation of him specifically, and he has a fairly simple but still excellent character arc.
Also, yes, we ARE okay because the show was frickin' excellent all the way to the end.

So to summarize why everyone shock she turned into she-re, because everyone believed she-ra is weapon activated, as in you need a specific sword (and to be "the chosen one" Plus a chant) To be she-ra, And she doesn't have the sword with her at the moment (Turned out the power to be she-ra is within her all along)

I started watching she-ra at first because it looked like a wlw version of voltron (which I was obsessed with at the time) and let me tell you, the show did NOT disappoint. I wish it had more seasons 😢
Its actually kind of interesting you watch this epsiode first, considering the base concept for it was written long before the rest ofthe show, and the shows creator nate stevenson basically made the whole show leading up to this.

For anyone who is confused on how Entrapta and Catra seem to magically know which clone is Emo Hordak, this is the conclusion I came to (also im really high so sorry if this make absolutley zero sense lmao) I believe "Daddy prime" *miscalculated* not just with Adora but with Emo hordak. Because the horde is a hivemind, they all share the same memories; And because they all share the same memories, every single clone *IS* literally the same person mentally and phisically. Emo hordak is a clone that was cut off from the hive mind; Which allowed him to develop a consistent personality with unique memories beliefs and morals. I believe since emo hordak was already part of the hive from the beginning, once emo hordak was added back to the hive, all of his memories were giving to the rest of the clones; which would mean that the clones are no longer "clones of horde prime obeying horde prime" and instead are now "clones of horde prime with conflicting memories of emo hordak being overitten by horde primes control". Adora was able to get through to catra when she was being controlled by evoking feelings stronger than horde primes control. Since all the clones already LOOK like emo hordak the clone being angry at catra for disobaying made him give off the same vibe as as emo hordak which evoked feelings that emo hordak brought out of catra every day which them made catra ask if he was emo hordak. I dont think she actually expected hordak to recognize her; and becaause that clone had emo hordak's memories, catra was able to break primes control and the clone became emo hordak and was able to recognize catra. I think entrapta might have came to this conclusion as well which would explain is why she was only prompted to show the crystal thingy once she saw a clone that reminded her of emo hordak and not of just a clone.
I love the moments when ur like guessing what’s about to happen and it’s either SO RIGHT COMPLETELY THE OPPOSITE. From a Shera fan this was so cool to watch

The show is dark like how ATLA is. The show is a kids show, but it also holds themes of heavy dark subjects like genocide and PTSD and trauma.

Gotta say this might just be the most under-rated animated show in the last... umm, well, ever really. Fabulous story, great characters, some real punch the air moments and everything delivers in the end (not something that can be said of many shows these days). Hell they even managed to do the full five seasons under Netflix, truly an achievement in itself! But maybe above all of that the voice acting is absolutely phenomenal. Just focus on Adora and Catra here for a prime (heh, sorry) example. Aimee Carrero brings so much to her performance, from the brave hero at the start, to downright terrified when she's holding a dying Catra to *bleep*ing terrifying when Adora goes full She-Ra. And then there's AJ Michalka who really ought to be on Grey DeLisle levels of praise for her work here. From the sheer wrongness of "Hello, Adora" to being at once mocking and (let's be honest here) seductive during the fight and tearing your heart out with a single "...Promise?". And the best part? For all that this is a phenomenal episode both manage to go to even higher levels elsewhere in the show.
5:31 I DO wish Catra’s trauma was touched upon more the way Glimmer’s was here (though this is the only ep in which it’s shown) cos what Prime put Catra through requires a WHOLE ass chapter to cover! 😥 (they do cover it a little in the following ep ‘Taking Control’ but not NEARLY to the degree Catra’s trauma deserves!)
There are also other times they show her being scared like her hands shaking and her touching her neck when thinking about Prime controlling her/people.
@@vilmublues752 True, I failed to mention that part, I just wish they showed her having more varied reactions to her PTSD flashbacks with things like a panic attack or night terrors instead of just having her act hesitant or touching her neck & nothing else (not that I WANT her to suffer more lol, but show a more raw portrayal of someone who literally went through NUMEROUS forms of torture & abuse)
