Thank you, it was very eye-opening! The fact that there was no rebellion in the story also applies to the world we live in. Also, I was taken aback by the first pictures as I am a graduate from over a decade ago!! Keep up the great work!
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching.
I've just read the book & was increasingly mesmerized by it... Initially I couldn't see what carers/donors etc were so had to keep reading to find out! Eventually it became clear in the final part but to me, the most telling part was the final paragraph with the wind, the plastic, the barb wire, the memories & Tommy, perhaps in the distance whilst in Norfolk - It was the most crushing end yet told as if it was light as a feather - so powerful
Agree. It’s an extremely sad book. The end just wrecks you.
@@GreatBooksProf In my mind it's those short lived memories & relationships versus Completion symbolized by torn plastic bags blowing in the wind...in Norfolk. I know Norfolk well & it's barren in many areas, just flat fields.
That’s why he got Nobel :-) loved this book
Great insights that got me thinking more deeply about the book 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Thats not Hailsham that's my school
