"You need a lot of time to undo what you are doing a lot of the time." is my new favorite quote.
The time is now.
Congratulations my friend. You are already ahead of almost 80% of the population who do not exercise regularly.
As for the 220-age formula, it is very imprecise. I'm 46 years old and my fcmax is 193. According to the formula it would be 174. In the range of 130-140 bpm I can run and talk very easy. I would advise you to have a maximal exercise test done by a sports doctor.
Thank you! I agree that the old formulas are way off. I had it checked and mine too is way higher. Some of us are way fitter as we get older.
Great stuff - thanks for sharing. Zone 2 training is a great way to track progress, as in time the same perceived effort and heart rate will take you further and faster... it's a metric where you can see and feel improvement almost weekly - and irrespective of pace and distance, you're still guaranteed that post-run high!
So true. I can’t believe what I’m seeing I wish I listened to the experts years ago.
It is incredible what you are doing. Zone 2 is a tough chase at our age. Im 62 and am able will a slow jog to hold 110....but that is still not slow enough.
Thanks! Right? It’s crazy tough, but you can do it! I believe in you.
Thanks for sharing, this is great. I'm 61, will be 62 in a few months, 234 lbs. Just starting at Zone 2 or MAF , either way it's hard at our age. Great job.
Yeah, it’s hellishly hard, but it works!
Love me some zone 2! Inertia is the biggest hurdle. You’re on your way!!
I can see why! I’m on my way somewhere, that’s for sure!
@@CoachAdamRunsI remember when you left me in the dust in the hills of Barcelona! I was on my way nowhere. 🤣
Subed 👊💪
Thanks for the sub!
I’m 56 , and after two months, I want to run a 5 km , my training now is , walking , and 2/3 times a week the elliptical to get accustomed at higher heartrate, if I walk , I’m most of the time on zone 1 , on elliptical I can do zone 2 ,
Way to go dude! You will get there if you keep it up and go slowly. I believe in you.
