This is a great series that Leno and Osborne have put together. I hope they do another season.
I know crossing my fingers there will be!!
I hope so too. Jay and Donald are great together. Plus there's so much history in and around Newport and the Audrain is such a great museum that I can't see them ever having a problem coming up with a vehicle or theme for a video
Likewise. Looking forward to more from these two.
Reminds me of an american version of James May and Oz Clarke.
Audrain's museum here to stay in Newport, throughout the 3 communities on Aquidneck Island, they already own 4 very large facilities and Jay has a $12 million estate on Ocean Drive in Newport, this is his east coast version of Jay Leno's Garage
It funny when I see footage of them driving around, I recognize all
Leno in a T-shirt and Osborne in a three piece suit driving around Newport in a 100+ year old car belching smoke. Must have been quite a sight! Well boys this series was quite a thrill. Interesting and very entertaining. Please do some more.
That Renault is laying down an excellent mosquito fog.
I got a chuckle out of the cars behind all decided to turn right just after Jay laid that cloud of smoke down.
all French cars are Renault. s.. .. do you know what Citroën means?
my father brought one home when we first moved to Germany.. advertising on the radio.. beep beep Renault Dauphine... little bells... I was glad to have it.. way better than a 57 Dodge station wagon... with wings.. stock.. gold and white.. push button automatic transmission.. the Renault even sounded like a car should
le car... like a soap bubble with front wheel drive.. with sufficient cajones it was the terror of the 55mph highway in America.. back roads R us.. sneaky.. highway stealth.. looks too stupid to go fast.. like rambler... pretty much exactly like ramblers
The wheels are balanced. Front and back.
Jay Leno, The every mans blue collar millionaire.
*blue Denim
More like a cool half billion. (Only one wife. lol)
Donald's automotive knowledge really is astonishing. These videos are so much fun!!
Pretty well versed on the heavy hitters in their various generations plus the mansion history as well. Donald's an impressive guy. I love the Odd Couple schtick. Tell me there's a Season 2....
Thank you for six great episodes. I hope there are many more seasons. Jay and Donald are great together.
Loved this series. Wonderful pair of dudes, and fun history with cool cars. I have to say, the Renault is a bit loose, especially the drivers side front wheel, which I suppose is warped?
My grandfather was born in the 1890s and he was 11 or 12 before he saw his first car, a White steamer.
American and Automotive history all in one! Love it, and the whole family can watch it and learn some cool stuff. Thanks for sharing, Jay, Donald, and team. Cheers, from Toronto!
This series is wonderful and so well scripted...I now have to get to New Port and this see your wonderful Museum.....
This will help when you go to look it up, Newport.
Very enjoyable, Gentlemen!
Wheels look slightly out of alignment 😆 credit to those who raced these things in period!
Wonder how your cars alignment looks 115 years from now. 🤨
The driver side front wheel has a definite wobble. Don't think I'd go more than 25 mph, yikes !
Wood tends to warp after 100 years.
You think the whole wheel & tire? To me, it looks like the wheel is true but the tire looks like it wasn't mounted straight.
I love this show
I'd have never thought of the idea for this series, but I'm so glad y'all did. It's really neat to combine the architecture, the history, and the cars... I hope there will be a season 2 before too long!
Thank you, gentlemen. I appreciate the art and class you bring to automobiles. I've watched JLG since it was a CZcams only show.
BRAVO!!
Great series gentlemen. Thank you.
The two of you are a good fit. I enjoy "Gettin Learnt" with Leno and Osborne.
Thank you for showing a little of the house interior and the motor on the car.
Great history lesson as always
Please do another season! My mother's family is from Newport. I love the cars, and seeing all of the familiar streets and houses!
Just finished the season. Came here because of Jay's channel & enjoyed it very much. Mr Osborne is so personable & knowledgeable & is the perfect counterpart to Jay. I wish & hope you do many more seasons, this is quality entertainment (and educational!)
This great season would like to see a season 2
I love this show. Thank you guys for making it. Not just Jay and Donald, but the crew, the editors, the people who decided to spend the money on it, etc.
Great shows. An excellent team.
Jay, playing the common Joe, eating pizza and stuffing his face as if food was going out of style.
Donald, playing the Upper Class posh person.
Although his attire is sort of a Cosplay -- green vest, blue bow-tie, a low-profile blazer....gimme a break!
The story about people in Europe in 1907, watching a car Racing at 60 miles (100 kms) / hour heading towards them
It was impossible for them to have a perception of that kind of speed -- they were used to carriages drawn by mules or horses.
Jay, you did it again -- you are back in business
Donald, a Star Is Born !
Being a Newporter I LOVE this series w/ Leno and Osborne! I was fortunate to grow up with seeing these classic cars on Bellevue Ave # Thank You for bringing these luxury classic cars back.
Great season, looking forward to the next one.
hello Ron, how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health.
I just found your picture attractive, hope you don’t mind us chatting sometimes to get to know each other.
God, I really enjoyed this and hope for much more! Cool cars and massive beautiful mansions together?! Hopefully next season there's interior walks.
Love, love, love this series....and these two gentlemen are terrific. I can’t imagine a better way to spend my time....and I love the wobble on those tires! Ha ha ha....thanks, boys....I love that Donald has a perpetual grin the entire time! A true enthusiast. Really great stuff guys, thanks again....
These episodes are great! I told my husband Dan, when he sees you Antonio at Razee’s , to tell you that I hope you are planning a season 2!
Actually Antonio isnt going to Razees's, he's just texted me and made alternative arrangements. Cheers.
Gayle thank you for the kind words! I’m not quite sure what Josh’s comments mean as I don’t them, but I will be sure to stop in at Razee and say hi to Dan soon 👍
Thanks Guys, It's been a great series of shows, I've looked forward more n more to the next one.
Well done, it's been really enjoyable and a big uplift from the covid situation.
Thanks, Paul UK
Really enjoyed this season, looking forward to season two!
Hello Gentlemen. I was really fascinated by the Renault you featured in this episode! Thank you Donald for all the history and background of the cars and of the Gilded Age of Newport itself. As a born and bred Rhode Islander and an Audrain member, I found this episode very enjoyable as I do the vast majority of them. Thanks so much to you both!
Excellent Episode Guys, thanks for posting!
I love these episodes. Can't wait for new ones
Thanks for creating these. Truly entertaining and interesting. I appreciate the time and effort and that it provides you no compensation except the satisfaction and pleasure others get by learning and experiencing this living history.
WOW...Thanks my friend's
you are both quite the dynamic duo! Love this series!
I expect that the 1907 Renault's top end is closer to 100 mph or more; they were ferociously fast, and the Renault Grand Prix model this car was based on was not only rated at 90 hp, it had _averaged_ 101 mph in the 1906 Grand Prix. William K. Vanderbilt II had already set the then-world's land speed record of 92.3 mph in 1904 at Daytona Beach in a Mercedes, and I can't imagine he'd want to trade _down_ in speed three years later. Wonderful video, marvelous house, magnificent cars, and perfectly hosted.
Thanks guys for the great video.JDS in AZ usa
Great series.. I really enjoyed it. I 'm looking forward to watch the next season. Thanks.
Wobbly right front wheel, but when I'm 114 years old, I expect I'll wobble, too. Great Series!
Just putting it out there to the universe I want to come back as Jay Leno
That Porsche sounds wicked. Enjoyed this episode as all the others!
The beauty of everything featured is overwhelming
When these guys do a video, it's always great.
I saw the Renault at the Indianapolis 500 Museum. It was a great looking vehicle. I'm really glad to see that it is running and drivable!
This is great! Thank you Mr. Leno & Mr. Osborne and the entire JLG Garage crew!!! Great video with so much work going on in the background as well! 🇺🇸👍
I love the Mastermind Alliance Leno & Osborne have formed!
Donald Osborne is perhaps the only person that wears a bow tie that I actually like. Gotta love that smile.
About how Jay was talking about styling on 39-41 cars; I really like the 1941 Chevrolet! It looks really nice especially in a black Special Deluxe coupe with red trim and those dog tooth wheel covers. The dash is also nice and symmetrical.
I love the 50 ford
I'm partial to the 1941 Buick Century convertible in black with red leather interior.
The original radiator!
Better true-up that right-front wheel before it tears the car or you up. You wouldn't want to take that car up to 70 mph.
I was going to comment the same thing and then noticed the front isn’t the only weeble wobble wheel. Rear passenger is pretty out of true as well.
Wooden rims are bad but he knows this
what a great video to start the weekend
"Willie K Leno!" Priceless.
25mph on that wobbly front wheel. I can only imagine the adrenaline.
Love this show! Thanks for getting it out there.
I cannot express how much I’ve enjoyed this series! Good stuff!! Please keep going...
Fascinating people and history with architecture and cars.
Man that drivers side front rim is as crooked as a snakes belly.😂 I was worried it was going to come off and pass the car.
That right front wheel is wobbling dangerously!
great job once again guys!
The hydrangeas tell us these cars and mansions episodes were all filmed in summer of 2020.
I love this! Great duo guys!
This is wonderful stuff! Keep it up!
I have enjoyed the coraderie of Leno and Osborne for years in Donald's many appearances on Jay Leno's Garage. The first season of the Audrain series has been great fun, and a trip down memory lane of a different sort for me. I had the good fortune to study at Brown U. in Providence in the 1970s. Newport was just a 45 minute trip, and for an architecture buff, it was a great place to spend a day walking and observing on a student budget (mostly free!). Fond memories of Marble House... My senior class rented the facility for a formal dance... would have been May 1978... A grand place to have a party! A year earlier, the America's Cup Ball was at Rosecliffe... I had the "honor" of working as a bartender and waiter that evening. Served drinks and dinner to Skipper Dennis Connor that evening, although I did not fully appreciate who he was at the time. A few years later I could afford to visit the museum collection that preceeded the Audrain... it is great to see that old building rejuvenated under Donald's leadership, and promoted with Jay's help. BTW... recognized Jay's "new" east coast home and its location on sight, before even listen to the video clip.
Only one question.. how long did it take Donald to button that vest?🤷🏻♂️
The valet will never reveal that information, sir.
Always a joy to watch you two, what a great team! I’m hoping these videos will continue into another season. Thanks for the fun! (And maybe we’’ll find out if Donald ever took a bite of that pizza!)
What a great piece of automotive history
Love you guys.
Excellent program! There is a great amount of knowledge in each, and Mr. Leno does seem to cut Mr. Osborne off in mid sentence at times, but the benefit of coming from opposite ends of the spectrum for perspective and history is amazing.
Awesome Car , Thanks Donald & Jay
Willie K. Leno... great look back at a bygone era and wealth. The Porsche is a monster!
Love the brass parts. Beautiful!!!
Imagine going 70mph with that right front wheel wobbling as bad as it is.
Just love the wobble on the front nearside wheel.
Great show as always but cant imagine the hurt that would happen if one of those wooden wheels broke.
Thank you for the history of Marble House and all the history of the Vanderbilt Era Donald, fascinating!
Now go catch an Uber... left me in tears.
You both are an amazing team!!! Please keep up the series 🙏
Technology over 115 years ago! Totally incredible!
Donald is a classic gentleman!👍😁
What a duo!!!!
What a beautiful automobile.
Great shows! Hope to see a season 2!
Thank you! Season 2 started last month, you can see the first episode here czcams.com/video/QTHgH3PVXFo/video.html
Just love the opening video.
Awesome video, thanks!
Totally amazing!
Exactly what I was thinking! Mosquito fogging while having fun 🤩 Bet they got the stink eye 😂
Quite the smoker that Renault, probably good for killing mosquitoes
Remember that in those days they didn't have the flexible chrome rings used today, usually the rings were made out of cast iron and smoking was normal regardless of car brand.
@studio bauhaus I know that, I was just addressing the smoking complaint. A lot of older vehicles had 4 such rings instead of 3 in an attempt to reduce smoking, and a lot of vehicles from this time period had "total loss" lubrication. Instead of storing the oil in the sump they stored it in a tank, and once it had oiled the relevant parts it just dropped off of the vehicle onto the ground. No filter needed and the oil was always fresh, but you left a trail.
anyone else obsessed with the wobbly front wheel?
totally enjoyed the video, thank you.
now that's a car with a strong character !!!
That wheel wobble is terrifying
The dynamic duo
The Vanderbilt family created some amazing houses. Including the Biltmore.
Anyone else notice the wobbly wheel on the front Jay's side?
Those wheels are wobbly.
That dude in the Honda pilot driving behind em must have caught a contact high off them fumes and dipped🤣😂😂😂😂
20:26 Agreed, the '41 Buick is an amazing, hot rod-able design.
Fun video and series! Encore, encore! :)
Is the Club Sport road legal? No but Jay can drive whatever he wants, wherever he pleases and I'll watch it and like.
It's great to see a car like this cruising in it's old hood. It has been a long time since I've seen it. I first saw it in the Rhode Island School of Design Museum in a display called "The Vintage Racing Machine". A few years later my friend Joe and I got a personal tour of these cars and other fantastic cars owned by George Waterman at their estate by Mrs. Waterman (a friend of Joe's aunt) in East Greenwich. Christmas '86 Joe gave me the catalogue of this display which showed seven cars including this one with specifications and brief histories of each. The Narragansett Race track in Cranston was in the area where the streets with names like Gansett, FIAT, Chandler, Jordan, Overland, Flint, Cadillac, Peerless, Packard and others are near Cranston Stadium. BTW, an intake over exhaust design engine is referred to an "F" head.
