He didn't play the puck, didn't even try to stop Evans from scoring. He had one thing on his mind; make a dirty hit. And that dirty unnecessary play was more important for him than saving his team. That's the same genius that got a penalty after hitting Chariot in the head for no reason as his team was desperately trying to get back in the game. He just doesn't care. What a loser.

This Canadiens team is really growing on me. They entered the playoffs as arguably the least impressive team of them all. Looked like they were gonna get eliminated 4-1 against the Leafs, but stuck together and found ways to win with clean but hard, efficient hockey.
Also really happy for Corey Perry, who’s been kind of underrated his whole career. Many people hate him for some of his antics throughout the years. When on top of his game tho he’s a really special player, almost unique imo. A feisty guy who plays on the edge and will never shy away from physicality, but also possesses silky mitts and an uncanny ability to find the net or a teammate’s stick in tough situations. When he won the Hart Trophy a decade ago he scored 50 goals and also racked up like 100+ penalty minutes. That tells you all you need to know about Perry’s mix of elite scoring ability and gritty mentality. Obviously he’s not elite anymore, but turning out to be a major asset for MTL in these playoffs nonetheless.

Eric Staal that we got for nothing now 1 goal 5 assists in playoffs, very talented player obviously that simply couldnt get going in a dead-end team(like many other talented players in the worst teams), I'm so surprised we got him and how good of an opportunity it is both for him and the team.

Scheifele should be suspended for the entire playoffs for that malicious and vicious hit on Evans. He knew the game was well out of reach and still hit him. Seeing his reaction, he had absolutely no remorse whatsoever.

Scheifele took a classic great game of playoff hockey to Psycho goes nuts on Evans head on his 25th Birthday . Will Evans ever know that he did indeed scored in the empty net . The way he landed he might never play again . The NHL better not botch this suspension up .
The worst part about the Scheifele hit on Evans is the fact that the Habs were winning anyways and there was under 1 minute left to play, so what's a nasty hit going to do anyways.

That kind of hit can destroy a career, and a life.
Elbow is low, shoulder is low, feet still on ice, strides stopped at the hash marks and first point of contact is the chest then up. This is all right before the hit happens. What if mark gets there a split second earlier and stops the puck from going in and the jets go and tie the game? Are we still having this same convo that this was a dirty play? I think not. The game moves so fast, mark in the moment could have thought playing the body in that spot was the right play that’s how hockey works everything is a split decision. I truly hope Evans is okay and can make it back for the playoffs. I would just love for someone to politely explain to me where this was a “series worthy suspension”.

If Scheifele had gone low and extended to the crease it could be said he was making a play on the puck. Instead he committed to heading off Evans, and that's basically what he did.
