- With the water up to the dunes for the past month because of coastal flooding surf fishing has been tough. Both Padre Island and Fish Pass jetties have had water to the dunes and deep wet sand.

You make a great point about fishing close and not too deep. I’m in SoCal, gonna retire in a year or two and gonna claim refugee status 😂😂😂 out there. Anyways, I surf fish a lot out here and most times the fish are right close to shore holding in the troughs. The surf acts as an agitator and washes up things off the bottom. That’s what the fish are eating. The action is in close. Anything that is a “surf fish” is going to be closer. There are fish that are farther out and can be reached from shore. The surf zone is where the action is. Whatever coast one fishes.
Thank you very much for your reply. I couldn’t find them a month ago when I was there.
My guy said fish super hwy..😂😂😂 maybe they closed the super hwy down for repairs... great video
LOL yes it was closed that day
@texasbeachbum supposed to be a decent day today.. better than what we've had lately.. I heard mullet are running and Jack's are in the surf ..
@@mrpool2you176 the only issue is waiting for the tide to go down so I can drive down PINS
@texasbeachbum I totally get it.. I won't drive in salt water either.. remember 1st 2 hours and last 2 of a tide is when bite is on.. tight lines
You need some corkers if you are going to be close to the edge in the slippery part.
Good to see U at the jetties. Not your usual spot. U need some golfing spikes on those rocks.😂😂😂
You win the Hardhead King Award...🤣 Hate those things. Catch more than one time to move...
TX SEAWEED BUM. Salted surmp fresh surmp sautéed surmp surmp kabob
surmp creole surmp COCKTAIL. Hey buddy you still caught fish great seeing 👀 you.
Great video as always, I got a video idea for u. Packery channel boat ramp has a new fish cleaning station. U could do a catch, clean, cook at the new fish cleaning station
I didn't know that thanks
What is causing the tides to run so high? I've been going down to the Corpus/Port Aransas area for close to 20 years and I've never seen the tides that high.
Low pressures and south east winds
BB, I can't believe you're just getting those hardheads. I agree, that surf is ugly. Hopefully you'll get better fish next time you go out. Tight Lines!
I saw the fish bites when u baited your hook .How do I order some for whitting to Australia 🇦🇺??? Marlon many thanks
you could try on Amazon or here: fishbites.com/
Good video we need some better weather and water to clear up
I like just catching fish 🐟🐟🐟🐟!!
I’m curious, what did you have set-up in that bucket while you were on the jettie, and then on a tripod when you were in the surf? It looked like some kind of antenna
insta 360 x3 camera
At least you tried! 👍
What are fish bites? We don't have that in Australia
I've had that day.
Dear sir could you let me know if there is any sand fleas around Port A. Thank you for your video great job. That r great for visitor. Thank again
No sand fleas big enough for bait. There is ghost shrimp
Why don't you eat "hardheads"? I eat catfish at least once per week here in Denver.
just never had the urge to try them yet
still pretty informative...
"Usually, this time of year " ....you got 5 years here, you have lived here but 1 cycle if El Nino and La nina.....what do you know?
You dont have enough time here on the coast to know anything yet, cause you havent been here long enough to experience much.
learn to adjust.
Ive been coming here all my life and have never seen it like this before.
Just curious, have you ever actually tried eating hard heads?
no but they are suppose to taste just like freshwater catfish
And fried catfish is delicious!!
You'll always catch something at the coast, even if it's just a damned hardhead.
is this on Pins?
no couldn't get to pins that day because of high water
@@texasbeachbum i was planning on camping in the next two weeks on the beach about 30-40 down, but dont wanna get my jeep and swag washed out even being by the dunes. Thanks for the intel, I live in SA so im not on top of beech condotions. Thank you for your updates and knowledge of the area.
you think it would be good by the dunes about 30-40 out or should I scrap that plan for now?
@spartan2.082 if you can find a spot close to the dunes.should be ok
@@texasbeachbum appreiate ya sir
