That whole meal looked like it had been cooked from frozen to me. 6/10 and I'm being generous there.
Torremolinos is proper old school tourism - its years since I was there but its nice to see all the original old buildings, streets and alleys haven't been bulldozed to make way for modern high rises

Yes, it reminded me of the battered cod I used to buy from my local Co-op when I lived in the UK. Cook from frozen in the oven which would also explain why it was "wet".

done the beach walk both ways many times n never get tired of it its a beutifull walk when holidaying in benalmadena
Looked great! Torremolinos used to be twinned with Stockport, there was or is a kind of monument on the outskirts if you walked down the road from Benalmadena saying Glorieta a Stockport or suchlike.

To generous with your score Lee no way was that 7 out of 10 the reason the fish was wet is because the oil in the fryer wasn't at the correct temperature to fry the fish so retained the water inside the batter plus the batter was too thick it looked more like a wrapper for a parcel that just coating the fish lol at best a 2 out of 10 from me curry sauce looked horrible enjoy the rest of your holiday happy eating .

I had fish chips and curry sauce last night. No peas, no drink and it cost nearly £12 (€13.76) Best chippy in town imo.

I grew up in Benal. I'm back on the 4th October. My Dad lives in Aguila. I recommend going seeing the DJ Danny McKnight at the Irish bar on the square. You will smile your head off!

I used to go to Torremolinos in the late 60’s and early 70’s before Benidorm became popular, and it’s hardly changed.

It's just as easy to walk to the beach . When we were there we walked to the beach from our hotel the Marcomfort Grecko.,about half a kilometre beautiful beach.
Yeah I agree Lee 7/10, the chips looked nice (different variety of spuds in spain = probably `Agria` variety), also yes the fish looked wet (should be drier for batter coating).

Next time your in Scotland lee try some fish and chips in a place called Gourdon in the north east. It’s a small fishing village just in the Aberdeenshire border

The lift just down below from Hotel Ritual is in the bungalow complex, and it's free!! Enjoy the rest of your adventure, saying that you may need a key for the lift at the ritual end 🤣

I don't know why the portions of chips are so small these days 🤔. Potatoes are still cheap in the supermarkets so I don't know why fish and chip shops and restaurants pubs etc are being tight with the portions. ☹️

was there about 4 yr ago Lee was a bit weary like but i really enjoyed it , we are off to Salou next week really looking forward to it !!! we struggled to find the lift too and that walk from toremalinos to Belamadena is a killer like !!!! have a great time Lee ....Shaun.

looked like an Iceland special, frozen everything, cooked in the deep fat fryers for show? Only a 1 from me. But I liked the cash only bit...(use it or lose it scenario). Great to follow you on your journey's though Lee 👍
Hi Lee, 7/10 was a little high. Suspicious of triangular uniform battered fish. I think the fish was a frozen fillet, and that is why it was wet.

I think most chippies have their good and bad days, if what they've got isn't the freshest they're not going to turn you away, go back there tomorrow and the fish might sow your blocks off, it's very much like that here in SA.
Try oceans in benalmadena they are highly rated think you should of stayed in benalmadena it's more central for you easy access to torrimolenos and fengurola
Kev the Scotsman did the same trip using the train to get from Malaga to Benalmedena ,Fungerola ,Torremolinas. It is one of his best trips id say . So any advice on the trains etc he would be ideal Lee .

Well, I said it would be worth the walk uphill didn't I, hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday it's amazing that a lot of people who visit Benalmadena don't even know the bars and restaurants up there even exist, I hope that my recommendation to go up there met with your approval and I'm glad to see you back to your old self.
I was here in June and last week and wanted to get to the beach. When the guy wanted 50C I told him to jog on and walked down, it's only 5 mins.😉😂

Hi Lee, I think 7 is ok based on looks. Those chips looked like frozen or fresh ones that you buy pre-prepared in a large bag, so not the proper chipped freshly peeled/chipped potatoes. I suspect the fish was cooked from frozen hence being so wet. Fresh fish fillets only take around 7-10 mins to fry as the fish "steams" inside the batter, so the fish flesh itself is not greasy or wet. if wet, then cooked from frozen.
Hi lee when we seen the fish we all said it looks like findus or captin birds eyes we noticed the fish was not sticken to the batter thats how we thought it was frozen. It's nice that Kevin Scotsman in Tenerife has got in contact there's nothing kev does not know nice to see you back in action 🕷️

Got lost a number of times up there wait till it gets dark 😂 good luck in the Costa del sol should be a fun couple weeks
They charge you for going in the Barrakka lift to the harbour at Valetta in Malta or they do give you the cheaper option of scaling the stairs around the lift for free plus a good exercise routine.
Food wise where are the chips? Fish looked large enough but 5 out 10

Frozen fish 💯
It's quite hard to compare fish and chips abroad to the UK mate. The curry sauce looked good to me as I like thickness. Agree with you on the chips. Fish looked nice even though I thought the batter looked a bit hard. Mushy peas I can give or take. Price was a bit high for what you got so I think your score of 7/10 was fair given that its abroad. I'll go 6.8/10 buddy. Thanks for the video mate. Great and honest as always👍
