  • This is the recent lure that I have been messing around with for a few weeks here and there when I have the time to. the total length and weight are on the last slide.
    if you are looking to get better at designing and creating your own lure check this online art courses I know when i first started I relied heavily on my art background and it helped me figure out a lot of things and helped with my carving

    Very interesting, thanks for sharing! As many blade baits as I loose though it would be heartbreaking to loose after all that love put in.

      I make all sorts of lures and yes it is a heartbreak when you snag on the bottom or up in a tree and can't get it back.. I would rather lose a $10 lure I bought than a $2 lure I made..

    Nice video.When I melt lead, I always do it outside of the house.
    I made huge and metal vibe by flattening the long fishing lead. For the metal vibe, I cut 3/4 of oval lead and flatten it but make sure there's two holes on the blade for the flatten lead to hold on. Then shape it with a hot soldering iron

      John & Evan's Fishing Adventures I used uv resistant marine top coat, but any top coat should do it just make sure top properly prepare each layer so they don't flake off bangger toy can use 90% alcohol spray to get ride of any oils that might be on the surface.

    Is the fly tying vise by Colorado or Crown? There's a few out there that look similar. I like the idea of using the same one as yours for painting my blades.

      Brian Pinard it's a brass fly tying vice and I got it from a local fishing store you can get cheap ones that work just as well form Amazon and Wish.

    hi ...how did you calculated the point where the best action the lure will have ? I mean the two holes on the back ?

    • @LucioYChristinasCookingShow
      @LucioYChristinasCookingShow  Před 5 lety +1

      Cristian Haica thanks for watching and there's a couple of calculations you have to do which mainly consist of how much drag is placed on the total surface area of the lure when pulled through water(D=Cd*A*.5*r*V^2) and balance point of the lead against the weight of the blade but there's a cheater way of doing it which basically is as long as the rear hook hanger is 3/8 above the mid line of the lure (if you make a line from tip to tip ) then just eyes ball it. I just read it over and it sounds hella complicated my bad Brotatoechip if this helped awesome if not just let me know and I'll just make a video explaining it.

      @@LucioYChristinasCookingShow Thank you ! What is Cd , r and V ? I think i get the picture in my head (a video would be great to make sure though) but what if your blade bait is small like 3 cm ?

  • @mikemcdonald5147
    @mikemcdonald5147 Před 7 lety

    what kind of glue did you use to attach the lead to the metal lure? Im guessing it has to be waterproof LOL :) Important step as you don't want the lead to fall off from a strong fish strike.

  • @GardensoftheAncientsHerbal

    So why not just glue to round cylinder magnets on each side then bondo around ok instead of special work to form the weights?
