We played in high altitude and on a larger field used for rugby - a strategic move by Desiree Ellis.
Randy Waldrum responded by playing a lone striker to make us secure defensively.
    My Ratings:
Super Falcons - solid defensively and reasonable midfield. Problem with defense and midfield was pass inaccuracies. Also, when the passes were accurate, they were poorly weighted. I don't know if it is reflective of the technical abilities of our players or that they were too rushed. They need to train better at playing an uptempo style for when it's necessary.
    Chiamaka Nnadozie - Amazing
    Christy Ucheibe - Excellent
Rashida Ajibade - Creative / Selfless
    Deborah Abiodun - Indispensable
Uchenna kanu - Good game, but played out of position.
Chidimma Okeke - Future star (capable with hard work of filling Ashley's shoes)
Echegini - Sublime - like Iwobi at AFCON, Echegini is not a deep midfielder but a shadow striker.
    Osinachi Ohale - Incomparable
Halimatu Ayinde - Intelligent / experienced
    Michelle Alozie - Solid (Indispensable)
Tony Payne - Dynamic (needs to improve final touch and control temperament)
Ihezuo - Strong (needs to learn)
Esther Okoronkwo - Reliable - but came in late.
Rinsola Babajide - should be getting regular playing time. I think she is better than Ihezuo all around. Is comparably strong, but has more scoring instincts. Can play like Osimhen, coming back to initiate attacks.
Ashley Plumtre was missed. She is the most reliable link up player for our attack. Knows how to hold up play and make the right pass.
Our tactics were perfect but the execution was lacking in precision. Especially when South Africa was pressing in the second half. We could have launched counter attacks rather than kick the balls right back to them. We had way too many inaccurate passes, which if not fixed will cost us against a top team.

This is a brilliant analysis.... But I feel Rinsola is actually a winger.... She's got excellent crosses and can finish when she breaks into the box. I think we need to start her and see. Just like we have trusted Echegini. She might just bench Kanu, if care is not taken

    Olympics:
Japan beat us the last time we met, but the ref gave them the game. We can beat them. We can beat Brazil. We can hopefully get a draw with Spain. We have a strong squad that gives us a lot of flexibility to play in different ways. If our best players are healthy, I feel we can compete with anyone. The teams in our group will be scared of playing us.
Randy Waldrum is a good coach. South Africa is a very tough team. They are a world-class team with a world-class coach. Randy Waldrum is a strong tactician. His strategy against Banyana Banyana worked. We completely neutralized South Africa in both games.

He's a very good coach, look at the quality of play against Cameron when he was not around, and the quality of play against SA, not withstanding the late commencement of camping. The challenge against SA was the late arrival and the short time of preparation. If the NFF/Min. of Sports should give the team all necessary support they need to prepare, I think they will do very well at the Olympic.

Smith Layi said something about the South Africans being weak in defending crosses. I saw it when Ajibade crossed for Ihezuo who wasnt a tall striker headed btw two defenders. Make no mistake Ihezuo speed was a joy to see but... feel, sometimes we should deliberately capitalize in Ify Onumonu height and heading ability. Onumonu heads well

It is so easy for us to forget what previous goalkeepers for the super falcons have done. While Chiamaka Nnadozie is for me the best the player in Africa at the moment, I still dont think she is better than Precious Dede...you need to have watched Dede from 2003 to 2015 to appreciate her. She was brought back out of retirement to save us at the world cup in Canada in 2015. Precious Dede need to be accorded her respect. I know GenZs will not accept, but it is true
