99% conviction rate doesn't mean they only convict guilty people, it just means that even if you're innocent they'll probably still win.
💀 yeah
Reminds me of Japan's conviction rate...they literally do not even bother going after grey cases, if you can't be proven guilty damn near close to 100% they just won't bother. A LOT of criminals get away because of this.
@@wyltedleaves That's not true, everything I've read about this is that they just don't have fair courts, even when there's overwhelming evidence that someone is innocent
There have been multiple cases like this around their death penalty, only one person has beaten it because of the overwhelming evidence AND he got lucky
WoW! you are so insightful and deep. You must have an out of this world IQ. Tell us more....
What most people don't realise, is that in a court case there aren't just 2 possible outcomes "acquittal and conviction", there is the *3rd option* of having the case dismissed somewhere along the process. And there are *two ways to determine the conviction rate:* some don't take the dismissed cases into consideration at all, and some count them as "non-convicted".
Acquittal means the court as gone through the whole process and all the evidence, and only in the end the court found the suspect to be not guilty. But if a case has been dismissed, it means the judge understands that he will need to acquit the suspect anyway, and he sees no point in continuing the court case.
If you're acquitted, it's done, you're not guilty; but if your case is dismissed, then you are still free, but your case could still be reopened, so it's less certain.
--------
This poses a loophole for propagandists. The MSM like to say stuff like: _"in our country the conviction rate is only 83%, and in that foreign dictature it's 98%"_ but when you look up the actual statistics, you'd see that both countries have around 2% acquittals and 15% dismissals, or something like that 🤷♂.
Usually a court has a few times more dismissed cases than acquittals, so it's a big difference whether you take those dismissals into account or not.
Anyway, be informed, look further than a number with a percentage sign.
never trust a man who wears airpods like that
or who wears airpods
@@kipchickensoutPeople who don't want garbage.
@@NeoVei airpods are just shiny tracking devices that also play sound
Came here to say that @@kipchickensout
@@emifroTracking devices? No. Crap? Yes.
I had to wear my old airpods like that because the main speaker broke so you'd need to twist it to get the other speaker on the side. Funny how bro probably has hella money from cyber crime yet cant replace his first gen airpods
Yeah, I sure hope they come up with some sort of proof it's actually LockbitSupp.
that's him officer
He probably has cauliflower ears so he can’t put them in properly
I think it's not him. The vk profile had dmitri not dmitry, he claims it isnt him, the FBI still hasnt found him, etc, etc.
@@octav7438Dmitri n Dmitry is literally the same thing but a variation of how one can type it, when pronounced in kirilica .
Wow Joe from impractical jokers has been busy ever since he left the show
Poor guy, his life's going downhill😭
at 7:49 you show a map with a mistake: switzerland has an extradition treaty but it only applies if you agree to be extradited lol
🤣 not much of an extradition treaty then. Wikipedia should probably update that
But Switzerland is green on the map?
@@vincentschult1725that's the "mistake"
tldr: i think you are talking about "simplified extradition" where the common procedings of "ordinary extradtion" are skipped.
From the Swiss-US extradtion treaty (1990):
Article 1:
"The Contracting Parties [The USA and Switzerland] agree to extradite to each other,
subject to the provisions of this Treaty, persons whom the
competent authorities of the Requesting State have charged
with or found guilty of an extraditable offense or persons
who are wanted for the carrying out of a detention order. "
Article 18 defines "simplified extraction":
"If the person sought irrevocably agrees in writing to
extradition after personally being advised by the competent
judicial authority of the right to formal extradition
proceedings and the protection afforded by them, the Requested
State may grant extradition without formal extradition
proceedings."
(Not that it matters anyway ...🤷♂)
I mean what? Hey would you like to be extradadted to the us or get punished here where your pubishment wont be even close to 13 years and we have better jails.
interesting video, Jhonti! the feds were already building up hype since a while ago with lockbit, we already knew this day was gonna come lol
REvil and their VOIP providers DDos-ing was a nightmare for us back then.
This means nothing because Russia wont be giving him up. No chance
he is sleeping just fine at night
Aleksandr Ermakov (Medibank hacker) did get arrested earlier this year by russia. Some say it's a PR move by russia pretending they also crack down on cyber criminals. Others say it's because of the juicy Bitcoin wallet they can beat the living password out of his mouth in prison.
Moral of the story is unless you directly work for the russia, having your name and address publicly associated with a Bitcoin wallet containing a couple millions of illicit dollars is no safer even if you live in russia.
As long as he has being paying the right people
Nice comments russian shill
I'm sure the CIA will respect the extradition agreements and won't drag him to some black site to connect a car battery to his balls. :)
In words on CGP Grey: "It's all about branding, matey, arrr!"
Do we actually live in the golden age of cyberpiracy? Are these infamous cyber gangs just like pirates of old? Will people watch movies about LockBit in about 200 years?
*intense music playing* "Finally, the perfect virus!" "Wait no no NO" *lack of ; error" *explosion
Will people watch movies in 200 years?

Bro used source engine based airpods
If AirPods are normally down at 6 o’clock, I wear them at like 9 or 10, stems forwards. Pretty sure I have weird ears, it’s the only orientation they fit in.
Same!!
no wonder if its a fake identity made to distract from main one, hell even i create social accounts with same or similar names and infos to make it harder to find the real person
Dude I been watching your vids for years Man U legendary
Some people's ears have different apertures.. when I buy in ear headphones I have to use different tips.. that's why professional audio people get molds made of their ear canals. It's very well known for audio professionals this type of thing. So probably sounds better for the cyber criminal.. think he just forgot that it looks dumb when he was getting his pictures taken.. also those are older airpods so you cannot change the tip. I had the first generation airpods and used to wear them at home upside down because they would fit better.. long comment.. but you did ask for more info..
great video
LOVE YOUR VIDS
0:38 that $10m question had 31337 views... legit?
Would be one elite type of trolling of the Cronos task force to just change that to a static number, specifically that static number.

Reminds me of Mr.Robot's team getting busted on the FBI's whiteboard with all their details.

You think Putin finna let him get extradited??? 😂😂😂😂 HELL NAW
i am soo amazed with all that data kida scarey if you ask me.
What is the software used to generate that osint map? 2:08
maltego i guess
It’s maltego with the pro license (500 euro for 365 days).
Don’t even think to use the community edition, it’s not that good because it’s super limited and you obviously can’t integrate with good platforms ( unless you pay for the pro )
So good so
What about Maksim yakubetes?
He might wear his airpods like that due to cauliflower ear which comes from grappling (after all he is russian)
How did they find his whole name
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
to be honest, at this point it wouldn't matter if Dimitri daily even livestreamed playing games and shit, because he's in russia and he's safe as long as he doesn't leave russia.

is the kgb still operational ?? i think it was dissolved in 93 it is now succeded by the FSK FSB... so i dont know about the kgb story...

How do we know that he’s the actual individual of this ransom group?
we don't, they doxed the wrong guy quite obviously

The last dude demanded over 700 million dollars from victims, but is only requited to pay 16 million to the victims now that he's caught?

4:25 the letters on the coast of arms are K D B, not K G B. That's not a mistake: it's to do with the fact that the Latin letter G is often rendered as Dj in the equivalent Cyrillic letters.
Wrong. It's actually because the acronym on the coats of arms is based on Belarusian not Russian language. So officially it's KDB, while in real world everyone referred to it as KGB, since everyone pretty much speaks Russian there.
Why would he care dude Russia won’t arrest him
we got him OSINT sisters! we found his vk yay! hehe we did it! brb gotta dilate before my boy hole closes up
its prolly a fake one considering his name is misspelled
