  • Hey Everyone,
I wanted to make this quick video about tree sap. I have had a lot of customers call me after they try and remove it in a harmful way and they cause damage. I don’t want that to happen.
Removing Tree Sap is super easy.
    You will need 2 things:
    - Isopropyl Alcohol or Rubbing Alcohol
    - Microfiber towel.
The isopropyl alcohol will not harm your vehicle. Do not use gasoline or anything that is corrosive. That will cause damage.
If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask,

Get yourself some Koch-Chemie Eulex (EU) - test in an inconspicuous spot - this will remove the sap. You will have to apply protection after your done. Works like a champ

Thanks for the video. I used alcohol to remove the wax, if the paint is still a little rough, do you think it's probably another containment? I applied the alcohol as directed, on the rough spots, I let it sit 5 minutes. I was thinking maybe clay bar the remaining rough area unless you have another idea. Also, I have to park (2022 vehicle) outside partially under a tree (I realize this is an issue but it is the only spot available), I use hybrid solutions ceramic coat turtle wax to protect it from tree wax and other things every 3 months, do you think this is good enough or should I use something else?

Hello! Sometimes it takes a few times to get the sap off if it's been there for a little while.
A clay bar would be a good idea if it isn't sap.
That product is a nice easy way to keep the vehicle looking good. You could also look into a ceramic coating. You could get it professionally done or there are some on the market for you to apply. A true coating will make it so you don't have to do it every 3 months and give you better results.

Who told you alcohol doesn’t damage paint?

      Hey There,
Isopropyl Alcohol is perfectly safe to use on the paint on your vehicle as long as it hasn't been repainted in the last 30 days.

@@excelsiorautodetailing why do you think there’s so much controversy over using alcohol ? Some people say what you say and some swear it’s bad

@@yksanta8997 I think it's like anything in the detailing industry. Everyone has their opinions. If you do a quick Google search it comes back as safe. There are way harsher chemicals that are used on paint. Like APC, bug removers, degreasers. Tons of stuff. Alcohol won't be an issue.
      I hope this helped

@@excelsiorautodetailing thanks and when you get the haze after the sap is off do you just wash the car after that and it’s gone ?

@@yksanta8997 it depends how long it has been there. Sometimes it might require a light polish. Sometimes if you put more alcohol and wipe it goes away.
What happens is sometimes the sap etches and leaves a mark in the clear coat.
