Do you have the WLtoys 104310 still around ?
Mind trying that on a 2s lipo instead of the lithium ion battery too see if it manages better on the hill & grass with a bit more power ? (Ofc bring a lipo buzzer too keep the battery safe.)
Rc slayers change those tires to SUPER mud SLINGERS then u will never get stuck im not even joking my dad has em on a gen7 Everest came stock but ya know...
What would you recommend for a SORCCA class 1 rtr crawler ?
27 megahertz remote control leap price 27 megahertz remote control it's done it's the app that's associated with the biggest video on CZcams
I realize I'm pretty off topic but do anybody know a good site to stream new movies online ?
Redcat gaining huge momentum since the Gen7. I'm on board with this brand because of the value and fun I have with my Redcats👍🏁👊
Well said brother!
Amen!
I agree after watching RcSaylors videos I went out and got the gen 7 and 8 just had to get this one to finish my set looks like I found a new Brand these trucks can't be beat for the price and parts are very easy to get ang will not cost you a arm and leg
@@robertgraham3948 I have several Redcats now. Gen8 is great out of the box. Have 8 Redcat...R5 is my biggest.
That was pretty cool. Im glad Redcat is in the market, it really helps people get into it. Nobody wants to drop 500 on something they don’t know they will like or not.
No cost mods for this truck is take the foam out of the tires first and lower the front end. I also run two spring blocks in each shock.. made a huge difference. When adding so much tention to the front you have to be creative on how you pin the front down I created a limiting belt. I also made new body Holes about a half inch above the other holes to lower the body so it doesn't look like a skyscraper.
It is a great truck. A low cost way for me and my boys to play (3 for 1 trx). We have beat them too, even submerged it kept on going. Only thing we have done is trim tire, removed foam and a better servo.
Redcat makes some nice stuff for the price. I took this crawler and put a scx10 chassis on it w/ 110mm shocks drooped. Chevy body and it could kick my trx4 any day of week crawling when done. All for about $250
Well, you've got a new subscriber in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I am officially hooked on your videos. I don't buy RC vehicles without checking your channel first. Thanks for helping your viewers get the best bang for their RC bucks!
Couple things will make this truck awesome! Get a pair of aluminum spools for the diffs, part #180009. Install them when the plastic ones strip out because they will soon. Cut off the nubs on the steering knuckles to get more steering angle! Cut off every other lug on the inner and outer edge of the tires, the smaller ones! Use lexan scissors for this! Remove the foams in the tires and discard it. Install a 35T 540 motor. Run it on a 3S Lipo.
The steering stop nubs only take seconds to clip off with side cutters and make a huge improvement.
Take off the smaller lugs on inner and outer edge of the tires to allow the larger lug to bite.
The truck is light enough that the foams hinder traction. Stock tires work well once modded.
All these can be done without taking anything apart with the exception of the outer bead lock rings to take the foams out.
You can leave the stock motor if you wish, it will be fine but a bit slow at 55T or so. 35T will give a nice boost in wheel speed! Also, leave the preload spacers on each shock! One on each and some common sense with picking a line will really help control torque twist.
Man that's a cheap mod list...I wonder how it would handle that first hill modded this.
Thank you so much for this review. I've had one for a year and have several upgrades done so much fun for the money.
Wheel weights and a lipo would make a huge difference on that climb
Wheel weights?
@@AB-80X YES. Or you can add lead shot pellets inside the tires and taking the foam out. No foam, more pliable tires can grip. A little bit of lead shot keeps the center of gravity down.
This was my 1st crawler and I had it for about 3 years with no problems. It's a great crawler.
You finally picked up my favorite truck! I dearly love my everest 10! And the upgrades! Look into getting your own radio, switch to a new reciever, and add in rear steer! All the parts are readily available. I have mine on a flysky fs3 radio and love it. Also set up an FPV system on mine with the camera on a servo attached to the steering servo so I can look where I'm driving. It's so neat to run!
Thanks for reviewing this Truck! Awesome Rock Crawler!
Got mine for $125 on prime day. Converting it into a brushless freestyle monster truck
Please do a series on this build haha
I had my E10 for 5 plus years now. I put a 27T motor and I’m running’s 2s lipo sometimes 3s, it really runs great. The upgraded motor really makes it GO. It’s a great truck for only $150.
Subscribing...i liked how you pointed out how easy it was to swap in a lipo battery. Watched hours of CZcams and not a single person mentioned how to switch it over to lipo. Thanks
Quick tip for when you're just spinning your tires in loose dirt, mud, etc like when you were going up the hill around 5:40 . Wiggle your front tires left and right, it will help them "grab" a little better and will give you better traction.
I live in western Kentucky (Paducah) and I promise you the rain is on the way. Loved the truck and don't have a crowler I might just hit the button on this one.
That's an awesome crawler. My son has one for a few years . He actually won it in a contest. I think it's the best crawler on the market in that price . Well worth the money. Thanks again for another awesome video Nate and Abby!👍👍🙏🙏⚓⚓😀
I'm 3 years out of date ,but really enjoyed your review. I've been offered one of these and knew nothing about the brand but it's similar to other makes I'm looking at . Hope there's more of this on your channel as just subbed to you , thanks!
I picked up one of these about a month ago. Great truck and compatible with gen 7 parts in some areas.
The links are the same. It uses 2 front axles so the c hubs and knuckles will fit all the way around. The metal locker from the gen 7 pro fits. The cvds from the pro fit. The trusses from the gen 7 will fit. It uses the same slid plat so the gen 7 aftermarket skids all fit. So that means you can run axial transmissions. The stock transmission is the same as the gen 7 so it can be upgraded to the gills. The gen 8 portals can easily be installed using a 1 tenth rc SOA mount.
Good info.....thanks
Redcat makes some good stuff!
Seems like a great entry level rig for rock crawling (added to my list thats two now thanks thercsaylors) id like to see this with a 2s and on a trail course, thanks for the review love this channel.
Great video,I have the danchee ridgerock by Redcat and it is awesome.
I had that rig an then went gen7. Definitely bang for your buck!
the redcat RS10 was my first rock crawler...cost less than half what an axial AX10 did at the time but was a very capable rig...got me into crawling.
I always wondered who builds all the content on the internet. Thank you sailors. I just sent one of your videos to a buddy looking to get into rc with me,
great looking car, try to give the car less throttle and allow the tyres to carefully bite into the ground. sometimes full throttle makes traction much worse also if you turn your front tyres back and forth while trying to climb (wiggle) it will find new bite spots easier. keep up the great show
I can see this ending up under my Christmas Tree. I like the Red Cat brand. Sadly, my hobby shop didnt have any Red Cat vehicles for sale. I think they only got so many in for the year, sold them and never reordered more. I have no idea why. I need to check my lawn mower funds and see if I can swing buying this. I don't care for the body but that can be fixed. I can sell something. Like my fishing gear. lol.
Any time I'm under #10 in the "up thumb" I say I'm in the early crew!. Like the video, but of course I'm a Drone fanboy. I just placed my order for the Zino -- Been hesitating for so long. Hope I'm not disappointed! ;-)
That's the first hobby grade RC crawler than I actually bought.it was also my first Redcat that I had bought I bought me in my wife each one. That way we can see if we enjoyed crawling or. We still have them they're great trucks. We have ran them all over the place. I recently took both of them and put a hobbywing 1060 brush speed control in them coupled with a 13 turn 540 brushed motor. They are now our stock class mud truck's. there's so much fun you guys will love that truck. PS the way I see it Abby gets that one 😁😁😁
Great video guys I have one of these I put a 550 in mine and 20mill hub ex but out of the box they are very capable
Good vid, maybe contact the park and or city about that new bash site to see what is happening and maybe you can get them to groom it? Or perhaps bring a rake and shovel and shape out a jump or 2 for yourselves.
I like the aluminum components! That suspension looks great for rocky areas!
This truck is full of aluminum, especially considering the price 👍⚓😃
I’d prob stick with 2s for this one guys.... nice review 👍🏼
I gave you guys a thumbs up but man what a frustrating video to watch! I kept trying to "will" that crawler up the hill! I kept thinking, like Nate mentioned, if the crawler was wearing real aggressive knobby tires it would have made it up even with that loose dirt.
You've got to do another video with that crawler on the rocks.
I see Nathan's wearing his hiking flip-flops today!!! Now he can conquer the hill with the Crawler!!!
Nate and Abby I love the video and can't wait to see you running a Lipo battery in the E10. Just some advice change out the steering horn to an aluminum servo horn and change out the tires. The stock tires are ok but no knobby enough for that hill you where trying to climb. I have owned an E10 since January of this year and had a lot of fun with it in the Michigan snow and in the summer on the rocks in my backyard. Also there is an E10 group on Facebook just fyi.
New body? This was my first model getting BACK into shafty crawlers after over 30 years of no R.C. at all 😊🤙
Just bought one today can’t wait to use it now I will a redcat and a axial 1/10 scale but I think this is gonna be better
Great Video... Now I need to pickup this Crawler!
Yeah this is a really nice truck for its price. Thanks Gotti! 👍⚓😎
-Nate
Nice driving, Abby!
Thank you 👍⚓😃
I just love your videos!! It's like coming home having a welcoming feel. Who are these people giving you a thumbs down? POSERS!
Been looking at this truck for a while now. After watching this, I definitely need to get one. By the way, you should upgrade to 4 wheel steering as it's already set up for it.
I never noticed. Yeah... I HAVE to get one now!
Yup that 4 wheel steer is great stuff 👍🏼
Great job abby of getting it up the hill might get me one and think about some different set of tires great video as always keep the great work up thanks for everything thing you do for us I appreciate it great price for the truck very reasonably
I REALLY wanted it to climb that hill, I was willing it lol 😆. Oh well, great car and video guys 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Yet again another great video....i like to c some tire up grades
Love my e10 we have a crawl park and it goes everywhere
Take the foams out of the tires will help alot
Bought it. Love it! Thx
Redcat needs to add 4 wheel steering like the Rockslide RS10 had.. couple that with some HPI Crawler King Rover 2.2 white dot tires, now you got a serious crawler.
Like the HSP 1/10 4WS Four Wheels Steering Off-road Rock Crawler? they look the same but one has 4WS 7 costs less somehow..........
@@jimiwith2eyes I considered that truck to upgrade from my RS10 (more power!) But, my RS10 is still going strong at around 8 years old with only one replacement Servo (which was covered under warranty). RS10's are still available and with the tire swap i mentioned above, you'll have an amazing crawler.
@@breakinstuffandlikingit6821 The issue for us in Kiwiland is shipping prices from the US are about the same price of the RC!!!! it never fails the shock me just how must shipping from the US costs thus I buy from anywhere but the US, kind of a shame but thats life eh'................................
Great job guys 👍⚓️👍
Great review
Good job pointing out the lipo thing... And yeah that plug is dumb but ill cut it and solder a deans on.
Thanks a lot for tuning in 😄👍😎⚓
I e got the gen8 scout, Grayson just got the Redcat Danchee Ridgerock, and I’m thinking this will be our next crawler. As always great video guys.
This was my first crawler.this thing is awesome. honestly i thought crawlers woiuld be boring ( Oh how wrong i was) Great machine!!! I am still amazed of the amount of articulation. I'm looking at a G-made R1 next. Any thoughts on them? By the way love the channel guys. Well done as always!!
Its got a 540 57 turn motor I've got one that will be in thursday put a 35 turn in it and I bet it would kill the hill with more speed great video I now know what my first quick mod well be. thanks for a good test run
I got this many years ago when it recently came out. The old body they sold for it is so much cooler
No matter how many crawler videos I see, I just can't get into them (I feel a need, a need for speed)
Each to their own. I prefer crawlers where I live. Lots of gravel pits to explore where I live. Speed would be useless there.
I'm the same way, but I've felt urge to try a cheap crawler cause I've broke my rock racer and my truggy in 2 days due to speed and I wanted to try a change in challenge
I've felt the same way, but after owning all these fast vehicles, I wanted a change in pace. I got the TRX4 Defender, and it's got high and low gear for both a little speed and rock crawling. Something about the ability to slowly negotiate terrain, it's really fun and an overlooked part of the "send it" attitude typically associated with fast bashers. See if you have any hobby shops with a demo truck and see how you liked it. I was certainly impressed and the TRX4 is now my favorite vehicle
Same
Nice looking little truck. Put a 3s in it and give it another chance. 👍🏻
I've always been a RC plane guy but crawling looks fun. My question.... How will this do in the snow during the winter? I want something to play with all year.
Sweet looking forward. 🖒💯 I would make a mud truck if I was to get one .. . Huge mud tires, off set the wheel nuts. 10mm.. and a brushless combo. A cheap one!! I Just had that look .. Mad Mud.. NC MOUNTAINS 🖒💯
Great vid as well
I manage a campground that is putting a RC track in. These have changed a lot ! My question is how hard are these little suckers to work on ?? Heck I don’t even change my own oil. But they look like fun
I have the exact same truck . Do yourself a favor get some duratrax deep woods c3 wheel/tire combo ! Can turn so much better now. Changed the ability to climb completely. I put an axial 27turn motor in also (15$) . Light kit is a must , Next is 4 wheel steer . And if you move the center links that’s under the motor to the most outer holes it helps the center of gravity a lot ! It’s a free upgrade why not haha . Very good truck to get in the crawling game .👍🏻✅👏🏻
I had the rockslide with 4 wheel steer, will that one convert to 4 wheel steer
Which should I get if I just want to crawl and don't care about looks? The gen 7 pro or Everest 10?
Have tried the HSP 1/10 4WS Four Wheels Steering Off-road Rock Crawler?
You should review an ecx temper gen 1.
$150 WOW that’s a excellent price if you are starting out in crawling!
I can’t wait until Abby gets the new Axial Capra😉👌👍.
I don’t know about in the US but here in Aus the problem with Redcat and Arrma is parts availability.
Im not sure, i own the ftx outback ranger 2. £150. i bought it to get into the crawling side of the hobby (i own a Tmaxx 3.3) and so far ive had no problems with the car and ive seen alot of people say very good stuff about the car. it looks very nice and is a great starting car for crawling.
please have a look at the FTX outback ranger 2 let us know what you think about it
There great trucks, I have had 4 of them. Cant beat it the price either
I have few questions about this crawler...
- How slow it can go?
- Are parts available for maintenance and upgrade?
- What is the running time you got out of it?
- Is the remote a good size for a 6-7 yo?
Thanks!
Hi wonderful video
Come back when hill is damp....
Can you do a couple of
Helecopter videos please now you are not doing drones so much
We would love to feature this truck again on our channel for sure! And we do plan to feature more drones and helis, promise :-)
We are looking at 10th scale trucks. After playing with a lot of 18th.
We are considering redcat. But torn between the everest, or the Gen7.
Any suggestions?
Hey guys I got the same truck at Walmart. Best fun I have indoors and outdoors .worth the cash ...
Slap a 2S/3S LiPo battery on this Redcat for your next crawling video at the “new” rugged stomping grounds!
You are correct this is the best crawler for the 💰! Even one best period!
I added Deep Woods Duratrax 2.2 for tires and wheels
Plus a light bar across the roof .
Nice capable machine and competitive too with a few minor mod....... and though I looked I thought I had posted on here already :D I would buy one myself but the kit I have already will/should out-last the time I, reputedly, have left and I'll need a box :D. When you can't fight it all there is left is a sense of humour :)
If you feel the above is not suitable for a family orientated channel please remove it. After all these years I trust your judgement :)
You are fine my friend. We are a little laxed about our comments. Only delete if they are over the top, blatantly threatening or derogatory. Always happy to know that you've tuned in 👍⚓😃
Did you do a video with a lipo ? Is so please give a link . Ty
I have the Everest 10 it is pretty cool.
Awesome Randie! We are loving this thing so far!
Are they fast with their deliveries? just order one!!! love your reviews
very neat
Can I suggest the Danchee ridgerock and the wltoys L979
Please get the Danchee Ridgerock! It keeps up with the everest 10 no problem and it's even cheaper!
Thanks for the great tip! 👍😁😎⚓️
I just wish this review was a little better. Instead of wasting the whole time trying to crawl up loose dirt. I wish it was more on rocks and really showing what this truck is capable of. Still a good video. Thanks.
I have the ecx barrage 1/12 with this trans in it and 540 size motor
What do you think compare to Wl10428?? Thanks
My first crawler! $136 four years ago. I've done many upgrades over time including 4ws just recently. I currently drive it more than my Axial SCX10-II crawler.
I also just discovered that Gen 7 CV axles fit great!! I've broken a lot of stock dog bones.
Sweet I think you can make it a 4 wheel steer. Let me know what you think
Yes absolutely! Sounds like a fun winter project :-)
I am a newbie to RC crawling. I like the price point of this but, don't like the body of it. Can I change the body of if? If so, where can I get a replacement body for this crawler ?
Nice little crawler. Poor POPEYE 🐶, he must be getting sea sick, battening down all those hatches by himself. 😁😂😂🙂. Good review even if it was so crawling slow.😂🤣😂😉😉😉.⚓👍⚓👍⚓.
You can also have four wheel turning
Looking forward to the power upgrade vid!!!!
You've got fans in #Trinidad #LokalbreD
Youre in a class of your own on #youtubeuniversity As I like to call it....
Blessings to you and yours FAM !!!!!
First thing that needs to be done to all ur crawlers is new tires with squish ! Stock are to firm
My trx4 ate that slope the other day easy as
Are the gears in the trans metal or plastic
I just ordered, and should be here today, the Danchee Ridgerock, by Redcat racing.. which is a 4wd/4ws 1/10th scale with dual motors for $99.. you guys should check that out.. it is very similar other than more plastic.. I can't wait to try it out! *EDIT: I got it.. and this thing is HUGE, first of all.. lol.. and A LOT of fun!
