Sounds about right. At least from the stories told through the years. Where there' smoke, there's usually fire.
Well....Jim Ross was proven correct in the end.
The treatment JR dealt with from his peers and superiors like McMahon was disgusting, he was one of the most talented employees in WWE’s history, he deserved ten times more respect than he was given, the fact even the boss took part in bullying him and making fun of him is insane to me and shows how foolish they were, alienating and ridiculing one of your best talents like that let’s be honest theres never been a better commentator duo like JR and The King aside from guerilla monsoon and Bobby the brain heenan (RIP to both of those legends) JR deserved better ❤
Isn't it insane that a publicly traded company's leader made fun of one of his employee's whose face was paralyzed on LIVE TV. I know WWE never wants anybody to see Mister McMahon tell Trish Stratus to strip to her underwear in the ring, crawl and bark like a dog, again, but I doubt his pretending to perform surgery on JR's ass is on the Cock, either.
When you see what Jim got respect in WCW compared to WWF, it goes to show that Vince NEVER cared about Jim Ross. He just wanted to stick it to JR and fired him many times due to his bells palsy.
The issue Mr. Ross faced was due to his love of wrestling and his unfortunate bells pasey.
@@GenGamesUniverse JR also said Vince was there for him when his wife passed that he "stepped up " Those were his words. Didn't WCW made fun of Ross with the Oklahoma skit?
MASSIVE RESPECT for JR. The dude had talent and screen presence as well as a great mind for the business. My heart goes out to him for all the personal tragedies he's suffered. JR is a cool, solid man.
Lauranatis and Bruce Prichard are notorious YES men for Vince Mcmahon
True , but i would say Bruce is a lot smarter and has done alot more for wrestling than johnny acehole

@rdu "He (Vinnie Mac) surrounds himself with glad-handing, nonsensical, douchebag yes-men like John Laurinaitis, who will tell him everything he wants to hear..." - Phil Brooks aka CM Punk, 2011
Johnny Ace, the genius behind the Eugene gimmick! 😂
It was Dinsmore's idea too.
Dear Lorrrrd
Festus to? 😂
it was genius.
Also infamous for the spot that basically ended Sid career and damn nearly forced him to get his leg amputated.
- Look good in a suit
- Smile a lot
- Say yes
Those are indeed the 3 requirements to work long term for Vince McMahon.
You forgot "kiss ass" fourth requirement.
You're right Bruce Pritchard and Kevin Dunn say hello.
That was the best Steven P. New transition I've ever heard . Brian laid that out so smooth Jim was caught off guard .
Nu
It was made even better by the fact that Brian had absolutely whiffed on every transition attempt prior during the episode. He had a rough day prior to this spot, and it was hilarious
He nailed this though.
That damn jingle is stuck in my head.
The more I hear about Laurinaitis, the more I think about that scene from “Office Space”: *What would you say you do here?!*
That's what she said
Lolol very underrated comment 🤣
“Your like Bill Lumbergh from office space without any of the comedy” - Cm Punk to johnny Ace

"When he was fingered"
Imagine the kind of people who would continually keep Johnny Ace in positions of power
Probably pretty easy when your ego is constantly being stroked
I hear he is taking over Twitter
Even TK isn’t stupid enough to hire him.
We don’t have to imagine anymore.

I am not surprised he hated Johnny Ace. But I had no idea the anger ran this deep.
"His own mother slapped the stork that delivered him" - JC
Are you kidding? Johnny Ace is the genesis behind "Thank you. Fuck you. Bye."
@@DarksaberForce I was more suprised at how unfiltered JR was. He usually is far more diplomatic.
@@MortimerZabi I know what you mean, but it makes sense. JR lost his wife, which is something you never get over, he's experienced more than enough to become cynical and, to quote CM Punk, he has to work with fucking children. At this point, I don't think he cares anymore.
I don’t find it to be too shocking. When you think about it, he is the reason Johnny ace even got a job in WWF. And then you think after doing that for him Johnny was maneuvering behind his back to steal his job. It’s even worse when you consider that most people of all said that JR was the very best in the role and how successful he had been. It would be maddening to be that successful in your job and then to have someone snake it away from you. And again it’s made all the worse considering what JR had done for him.
Then throw in the fact that JR is still having to do various duties of talent relations because Johnnie couldn’t. And in the years that followed JR has to watch as the department deteriorates from the level it was under his leadership. I can fully understand why that would be infuriating. And to a large extent a lot of this comes from how Johnny and the company both handled this.
Imagine if Johnny had talked with JR and expressed that he wanted to fill that role when JR was done. Imagine if Vince came to JR and expressed the desire to put Johnny in the role and set up a transition for it to happen. It would still be disappointing but doing it above board like that would be a lot easier to accept than having the position snaked away from you out of nowhere like it was at this time. As for how blunt he was in the comments? I think that’s largely because he has no need to maintain a relationship with Johnny any longer. In prior years when he was still in WWE you naturally don’t want to destroy the dude when you never know if you need to return to the company. But after this firing and scandal the chances Johnny is ever back are slim to none so you really don’t have risk of big consequences like existed previously. That would be my guess. Or JR decided that at 71 years old he doesn’t feel like holding back anymore.
It's crazy that he's Road Warrior Animal's brother.
JR is one of the friendliest, easiest people to get along with! Think how much of an unbelievable asshole you’ve got to be to treat JR like shit!
Of course we know Vinny Mac’s company was certainly full of those kind of people!
Well, when telling the boss "yes" is your first objective and burying people who might highlight your flaws simply by working is your second, well there's two parties to blame. The back biting stooges, and the boss who take in shameless stooges. Me, I had a different problem. It was really hard for me to properly discipline nice guys who wanted to be my friend, even when they were terrible at the job and had little drive to improve.
I use to work with someone like this, people that he thought was important he was always grinning in their face, wearing a suit and sucked up to the higher ups. One in every company, sometimes more than one
Playing the game... HHH
A lot of this Ric Flair stuff this week is a work. He has a documentary coming out to sell.
His entire life has been a work.

@Jeffrey Juliano all that dude does is instigate shit and then pretend he dont lmao
Yeah. It does seem too coincidental.
Johnny Ace’s own brother Animal from LOD stated John John screwed him over. There was an issue over money from merch sales and a job as trainer or agent with WWE that John John claimed would be nepotism per Vince.
JR is one of the most important people in pro wrestling history. Rest assured if he has criticisms for anyone its well deserved.
This clip hits different now that this lawsuit has come out about him and Vince.
Understatement
"He was a great finish guy"
Well he just got finished and i do think its great
Who's here in February of 2024? Yikes

Hello

Jim Ross never was a yes man. He could be blunt, but always was one of the boys too. People in the wrestling business has been so respected and appreciated. Johnny Ace will definitely always be a piece of shit in the business.
He was never one of the boys. .
Ever. He was an executive but also an announcer, he never wrestled, outside of a match or two. Can't be in the office, in wcw and wwe AND be one of the boys...ever queernette would agree
@@noname-wz5ww yeah but he wasn't a stooge like Johnny Ace.
I wonder if Johnny Ace wrote the “Threesome poop on head finish” that was a heel move that could take down a billionaire.
Fast forward to today. Johnny Ace is the victim not a predator according too his own words!!!
JR almost never goes in on someone like that. Laurinaitis must be a real piece of backstabbing egg plant shit to get one of the nicer guys in the business to go after him publicly like that.
That is true, he sometimes criticizes people and shoots on them, but he rarely eviscerates anybody the way he did Johnny Ace.
He absolutely was to JR. JR brought him into WWF when nobody else was interested in bringing him in. He brought him into talent relations. And after doing that for him Johnny snaked his job out from under him. And even after taking his job he wasn’t competent enough to handle all of the duties or the job so JR was still stuck doing various duties of the position that got stolen from him for the guy who stole the job. Such a shitty thing on Johnnys part to do after how good JR was to him. So absolutely can see why JR feels the way he does. Having the job snaked is bad enough but it’s even worse when it’s somebody who you did things for being the one to do it. What a way to thank somebody for helping you in your time or need.
@@Matt-cr4vv Great breakdown. Getting run out by someone you don't like is one thing. Getting betrayed by someone who you helped is much, much worse.
Yup
Fate sure is strange
I wonder how much "People Power!" will help John Laurinaitis out, now...
"He was a great finish guy!"
You got that right!
Laurinaitis almost killed my viewership of WWE programming single-handedly, when they were thick enough to keep putting him on television. He's got all the personality and charisma of a wooly mammoth turd, frozen in time underneath miles of ice and snow.
That's a very apt description 😂

Very timely
We must crowd fund for corny to finally see, realize, and understand omnibus style, the entire ‘people power’ Johnny ace run
I love an omnibus of Brian laughing.
The third brother, Marcus, lives in my neighborhood. Hung out with him a few times.
Johnny Ace did have some amazing tag team matches in Japan. Not that he was the driver of the matches, but he pulled his weight.
Kenny Omega was great in Japan, too. Maybe they could go back as a package deal.
@@warren_r Both were good in Japan. Lots of guys were good in Japan but not nearly as good in the US, like Stan Hansen. Some guys just work better in a different environment.
@@8thaccount535 Hansen stayed in Japan because he was getting 10,000$ a week there when there were no guarantees here. Hansen got over in the AWA & WCW and won belts in both.
It still headscratching to me about why when John Laurinaitis back to wrestling in US. He always often in a joke situation. Didn't have a chance to show his talent (Even before he screw himself in WWE) like wrestling in Herb Abrams UWF match that completely f*cked up, Also WXO.
It's weird to see the guy who was great in Japan & invented Cutter & Fame Asser. Always became a joke wrestler in US Wrestling scene (Even worse case than Japanese Wrestler coming to US Wrestling promotion like TAKA & Kaz Hayashi)
Makes me wonder it's may affected his attitude when he's became backstage job in US Wrestling Business.
Comparing Hansen to those two is a travesty for many reasons, but ultimately that dude is right: Stan was at his best in Japan. Same with Dr. Death, Albright, Terry Funk, Vader, etc. Japanese wrestling was just untouchable in the 80's and 90's. Same that it died with Baba and Njpw became a sports entertainment disgrace.
I trust JR to say it as it is.
Between John Laurinaitis and Bruce Prichard, I'm not sure who kissed Vince's ass more......
I said before that Eugene could have really worked if he switched to a mega heel, and revealed that he was faking his condition for sympathy and easy access.
Like an updated Doink.
I'm from Louisiana and can agree that we are the most crooked state
That image of current-day Johnny L. on a skateboard (y'all know the reference) may be the bestest thing I have ever seen.
Johnny said “Yes” a lot mean so much more.
LMFAO Jim Ross is Absolutely Right and I agree with him Johnny Ace hates women's wrestling he was the reason why the women's division was so shit all those years even though the women's division had some highlights once he started hiring swimsuit models the women's division went to shit and Jim Cornette's Rants on Johnny Ace always makes me laugh and Shane Douglas was the best part of the dynamic dudes.
Women's wrestling sucked because it's Women's wrestling!!!!!!!
Cold Truth
Now he's famous for being an extra in scat films.
By Johnny Aces logic of no one under 6' 2", we would have had no Bret, no Michaels no Dynamite Kid no Steamboat no Flair no Funk but would have Giant Gonzalez 😂

Johnny Ace was Vinces boyfriend. Watch 😮
I read about jim ross having to do the books for johnny ace when it wasnt hos job any longer. From his 2nd memoir
Listened to this video, the original from Jr, and Dutch’s reaction when this happened. Great vids and none of them knew how deep Johnny Ace’s relationship with Vince went… until now
I haven’t thought of Doug and Danny Basham since like 2010. Wow. Trevor Murdoch and Lance Cade are another team I hadn’t thought of in years that I remembered recently.
Hurricane Laura- Entergy not only left us without power for weeks at a time, but they then passed all repair costs to the Louisiana people.
After the hurricane, we were getting $2700-$4000 bills (one month).
When Cornette said,"backbite and backstab" I flashed back to Scott Steiner roasting Ric Flair.
I'm from the future... Wait till you all find out the stuff I know😬
If you really want a laugh, watch the Dynamic Dudes vs Fabulous Freebirds NWA tag title match from Halloween Havoc 1989 in Philadelphia. Cornette managed the Dynamic Dudes. The fans were crapping on the Dudes the entire match, and cheering the heel Freebirds. The Dudes were both totally lost and the Freebirds were laughing at them. If I recall correctly, there was a huge Cornette sign in the front row, and the Thunderdome caught fire later that night. That Havoc show gave Philadelphia the heel town reputation it still has today. Joel Goodhart and Tod Gordon both sited that match in shoot interviews as inspiration to create TWA, and later ECW respectively. Ironically, Ace's parter, Shane Douglas, became a Philadelphia wrestling icon.
JC will always be a man of the people. Thank you, Jim and Brian.
The Steven P. New song is amazing... i want it on digital download hahah make a full song.
Ok, for the record- the Huey P Long Bridge is and always has been a free bridge over the Mississippi River. It used to be terribly narrow and sucked to cross, but always free. If Jim got charged, he got hornswaggled.....the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway was the toll bridge he would have crossed. Longest bridge in the world.
People Power! 😁
If JR says someone is a POS, you know he’s a POS!
Not necessarily people still side with Flair over PRFH DSOTR
John Laurinitas wanted all the women to be like Mandy Rose.
Yet he didn't attempt to Marry anyone who looked like that. He decided to pay for it instead 🤨🙄
Basham Brothers really were under-used... although they somewhat had a decent run with JBL's Cabinet
Nobody would remember either of them today were it not for the Basham brothers gimmick and being the enforcers in JBL's cabinet.
Jim ross was right.
Laurinaitis was the textbook example of the description "Empty Suit".
Weird this popped up again 😂
John Laurinaitis is going to have a bunch of alimony to Kathy Colace in the coming year or two. 😂
Cornette's quote of "JR was a wrestling executive while Johhny Ace was a stooge in a suit" really describes Johnny Ace down to a T. The one thing that bums me out is whenever Johnny Ace was on TV, the fans never chanted "Laryngitis" at him, not even once, if they ever did, oh my god, I'd be laughing hard. It would've gone like *clap clap clap clap* laryngitis *clap clap clap clap clap clap* laryngitis. Another thing, they tried to rehash the Austin/Mcmahon feud from the late 90's with CM Punk and Laurinaitis but it didn't work at all. The one thing that pretty much sums it all up about Johnny Ace was your simple yes-man, much like Bruce Pritchard, Kevin Dunn, Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco etc. Another thing, for someone to get on JR's bad side, they'd had to be an absolute prick.
Sounds like John was a sith lord
And now Johnny Ace can't hire Stephen P New.
John Laurinaitis goes look sir I am an imbecile with my money could I clean your floors? Hell no.
Herrr sassafras
6:36 Eugene was 100% Dinsmore idea and he was fucking over like rover. Hell it probably extended his career
"I said. John Laurinaitis. Tell your fn creative team to be more fn creative and pretend next time. Thank you. Fyou. Bye" - Jim Cornette

I knew John couldn't be trusted because of how badly he treated his brother Animal.

I wonder if Jim Cornette could ever do a 168 Hour Straight Podcast... A whole week of Cornette telling stories uninterrupted.. I would actually try to stay up as long as possible....
It would get better and better as he became delirious. As time wore on he would let stories slip that he has held tight.
Not that Jim Ross is wrong but i could respect him a bit more if he would have said that when John Laurinaitis was still with WWE...
If JR one of the top 3 nicest people ever in Pro Wrestling doesnt like you says a lot about you.
I've give Brian crap for his ad transitions, but he nailed that one.
Cornette just made Stephen p new the real life saul Goodman
I figured surely it was Dinsmore for "whose career did johnny ace destroy the most" but he wanted that gimmick???😮😮😮 that was news to me
Eugene made Dinsmore's career. Nobody would remember him today if not for that gimmick. At the time the roster was full of talent and he was just another guy until they gave him this gimmick.
How is it that Animal is his brother? Also have they ever been seen together?
