I LOVE My 2016 AWD SANTA FE SPORT, ESPECIALLY PUSH BUTTON START & HEATED, LEATHER SEATS! HE IS REALLY IS PARTIAL TO OTHER SUVs. I'VE HAD SEVERAL MYSELF, & THIS IS TOPS IN MY OPINION. I'VE HAD THE SORENTO, TRAILBLAZER, ESCAPE, DURANGO & A LEXUS RX330. I ALSO HAVE A TUCSON, WHICH IS A GREAT FUN CROSSOVER TO DRIVE! THIS IS MY 2ND SANTA FE; JUST SOLD MY 2007.
I like this more than the LWB version. I see these everywhere!
I have one 2014 Santa Sprot, pretty identical to this one I say. I don't know why the reviewer seems not-so-interested but, I tell you honestly the car is "really" amazing. I was considering getting a BMW sedan before it, and now think what a BMW can offer more than my Santa Fe (except for its blue-purple badge)? It's so convenient, and quite (perhaps not the quietest in its class, or if you are so fussy or very much into cars, etc. but not to me; to me it is actually really quite) and the inside of the cabin is so so beautiful, so that whoever seats in my car starts complementing it even the folks who own BMW X5 2016 (I recently saw a friend who recently purchased BMW X5 2016 with 20k more and my car was more beautiful). I have had it 2 years now, and it's so amazing. This is at least my honest opinion as someone who "actually" uses this car for over 2 years not reviewing it in 20 minutes. I typically don't put my opinion, but I thought the review was not fair enough (or not professional or both) at least to my opinion.

6:44 competitors go for the Highlander? also you forgot it competes with Ford Edge, Nissan Murano.
5:44 actually 20/27 is very respectable for and suv that size with 190hp. Consider the Highlander 2.7liter have less power and gets slightly worse mpg.

Actually, these are quite common here in Toronto Canada....
My 2015 Chevy Colorado truck is a 3.6L V6 with the same fuel economy as this 4 cylinder. Bigger vehicles like suvs or trucks shouldn't have a 4 cylinder. It's to small of an engine trying to power a heavier vehicle. A V6 engine also has a longer lasting life.
+ozzy do I GET 26 MPG IN THE CITY W/MINE. IT HAS 195 HP, WHICH IS PLENTY OF ACCELERATION FOR ME. I'D RATHER HAVE THE CARGO AREA ENCLOSED. IT IS NOT A SMALL ENGINE & HAS PLENTY OF TORQ! I HAVE A TRAILER HITCH ON MINE & CAN PULL A BOAT OR UTILITY TRAILER WITH QUADS OR OUR GOLF CART, WITH NO PROBLEM!

Dump the base 2.4, make the 2.4 Turbo the Base engine & offer the V6. You have to get the 3 row to get the V6.
My 3.6L V6 Colorado has the same fuel economy as this vehicle. This is too small of an engine trying to power a heavier vehicle.

Ivan Vojt You already hae the 2.0 turbo with 264hp. That's at least a 90hp boost over what it would be without the turbo. Then you have to worry about turbo wear and tear.

The Highlander competes with the Honda Pilot, Nissan Pathfinder, Ford Explorer, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, Mazda CX-9. Hyundai Santa Fe, Dodge Durango, and the Kia Sorento.
I hate that these car makers are putting underpowered 4 bangers in these things and to compensate they use turbocharged engines bleh.

+Romband1919 Relative had a 2004 Santa Fe Sport which he sold Aug, 2015 and bought a 2015 Santa Fe Sport. Never had any issues with the older Santa Fe Sport. For "junk" as you call it, the reviews by various sources have a very different opinion. Would you please provide specifics for you opinion ?
