I find it funny how jack is desperately trying to keep his father from saying embarrassing things in public, yet still refers to him as “Daddy”.
Well everyone will take the mick out of themselves but letting your farther go ham in public is NOT a good idea

My ex used to call his parents Daddy and Mummy. Is what the posh upper class do. King Charles used to refer to the Queen as Mummy.

An incredibly successful teenager. I realized his father had entertainment connections which I'm sure helped but you don't gain his level of success without having some discipline, good work ethic and talent.

I had died of laughter with Michael's commentary on Americans when I had first seen this. Spot on. 👏 I think we can all agree that we're thankful for you Jack in introducing your father to the world. Look, I know the stigma of America having large portion sizes. Generally this is true, but I would like to argue no sane person would go to a restaurant and order a burger, pancakes, fries, onion rings, and two milk shakes and be able to eat them all at the restaurant (even between two people). 99% of people (even Americans) presented with the portions Jake and his dad had would take 2/3rds of the meal home for leftovers. And old fashioned milk shakes are meant to be shared between two people, hence why they give you the tin they blend it in as well as the fancy glass. 😬
i like to think that they shared some with the camera crew! 😂😂 (and maybe they _did_ take some leftovers?)
I think the point is in any other country if you order one portion of something, you don’t get anywhere near the same size. If it’s for one person, should be a smaller serving, or advertised on the menu as a sharer.
It’s probably good value for money, but there will be people that don’t understand this is to be shared and will eat the whole lot - which is just not healthy.

This is (maybe not so)obviously a "festival food" restaurant, the food is supposed to overwhelm you and be the entertainment! These are not American portions, just like a 20 lb cadburys cream egg is not a normal British snack. I'm pretty sure the show's producers picked this kind of place on purpose, just to make Michael's eyes bug out of his head.
I have just laughed so hard over that diner scene that my eyes are streaming and I think I've cracked a rib. 🤣 I think I may need to take a break before I watch the rest!

My bf and I adore watching your travels with your dad. Your relationship is amazing, and Michael is just so endearing in his grumpiness. We love you both! We were happy to see you travel with your mum as we suspected you would be more like Michael in that dynamic. Your parents are both fantastic!

Thank you I don't know anybody who eats like that I have never even been to a restaurant that serves stuff like that. Not even in Texas. I'm sure the research team did their job and set the stage by finding this ridiculous restaurant to emphasize the Americans are gluttons stereotype. Granted, I was born raised and still live in Los Angeles California more specifically Santa monica. I was a collegiate athlete and even growing up long before the craze my family ate primarily organically, absolutely nothing synthetic everything natural (I've never had a slice of plastic cheese or what one might call American cheese in my life nor have I ever had anything but real butter).
Still I spent a lot of time in Arizona Nevada, New York, a bit in texas. I have never come across anything even close.

steven wright is an introvert, and zach galifianakis is. bill hicks was, and so was mitch hedburg. and phil hartman. johnny carson. david letterman. i'm putting money on bo burnam, too, and SO many more -- woody allen is probably the most widely known, but it wouldn't be fair to tag others with the same brush.
the point is ... introversion doesn't preclude comedic talent; in fact, i think the reverse is more likely to be true. also, by the same parameters, comedians can be and many are simply terrific people. others choose not to be, which is, actually, funnier. lol.

Honestly the burger with mac and cheese and everything in that restaurant look so yummy, but just like in huge proportion, like maybe 3 people should share the burger and then 4 people share that plate of pancakes, drinks at least 2 per cup.
I’d try the pancakes! Onion rings yes. Definitely getting a doggie bag for leftovers. Those portions are incredible and way too much and I’m American Omg he’s driving the RV?!?
