You’re Mum’s Boxing Day party “digging to China”. I’m so glad I’m not the only one who spent social events with my Mom, standing by helpless as she she came out with some “gem” of a comment that sent my nervous system pinging with a sick-feeling pulse. I think one of the worst was when she blithely shared with a Catholic priest of our acquaintance that one of her grandmothers used to self-abort.
