When a manager says he’s leaving, you lose belief. Physchologically This is what has happened and performances, work rate, went, has loss. Soo much on pitch is physcholgical, it went. Players, Manager can’t winge it.
Bad announcement, bad timing. Late April ok, 1 week to go, even then it should be at end of season, but not January 26.
    Who allowed it? FSG?

The midfield rebuild is simply not quite complete, but it looked surprisingly solid for a while there, and I am over the moon about the progress.
To compete at the level and number of fixtures LFC aspires to, 6 healthy midfielders is not enough. I have nothing but positive things to say about Jones, Elliott, Gravenberch, Szobo, Macca, Endo as individuals, but in two keys matches against MU, the midfield was simply tired. Against CP, Macca and Endo were both tired. They did not play badly, yet they were not at the proper level.
In theory, Klopp has 8 midfielders, the 6 above plus Thiago, Bajcetic. That was not sufficient, given we knew two had injury issues going into this season. Literally one more good midfielder could have made a world of difference in 4-5 important matches this season.

  • @julianhall6773
    @julianhall6773 Pƙed 28 dny +5

The understanding between the players is the lowest I've seen in ages. They're trying to play quick, in midfield, but the players are not moving into space quickly enough and/or the person on the ball is playing instinctively based on where they think a player should be, instead of being sure. This means we give the ball away far too often, then we're out of position for the resulting counter attack so players have to rush back to defend ... and you keep doing that and the players are exhausted. The midfield is just not clicking at the moment as a team. What few chances do come our way, are being wasted far too much. Nunez, Salah and Diaz (and Jota) ... you all need to come together as a close team unit and have a serious heart to heart about what you all can do together to improve and recognize that a goal for any of you is far more valuable than one for yourself. I believe the effort is there, the heart is there ... the desire is there ... the ability is there ... but none of that matters unless you look at what you're doing wrong as a unit and work closely together as a team to figure out ways to get better as a unit. Klopp and staff also need to ram home this point to them.

Klopp has had enough of being let down and being left to face the media after disappointment after disappointment, they should have got JB, he was told there was no money for transfers for how many windows because they were getting JB and then they brushed him off and as as result, we have not lived up to potential, for me, klopp should have won more, without being let down by FSG repeatedly, we would have

Have we 'overachieved' this 23 -24 season? Given the previous season and the difficulties Liverpool experienced. Maybe, we have done as well as can be expected .. League Cup .. Champions league place? In perspective maybe we have expected too much this season. Compare to Arsenal .. who could win no silverware but a champions league spot. Man City lose out in the champions league. Maybe where we are reflects on the level of this team given how Klopp has had to restructure the Midfield especially?

We were at the top not so long ago in the past, with excellent chances to remain there for years, if done right.
But FSG denied that, by not strengthening the squad, when we have had peak appeal.
We need new owners, that genuinely care, to have any chance of being consistently near the top.
Klopp was the only reason, we were.
He made us forget, how incompetent and devoid of any ambition FSG really is and always has been.
They destroy in stadium fan culture with their ridiculous ticket prizing as well.
Anfield only lives of its reputation.
Truth is, the atmosphere is among the worst in England, let alone Europe lately.
Klopp is certainly fed up of this as well, he’s just to polite to state that in public.

While a fan of Klopp, the one thing that has been his biggest weakness is his inability or unwillingness to change tactically. The "Heavy Metal" pressing style is effective up to a point but when it is not successful, he seems to be out of ideas. The tie with Atalanta was a perfect example of a team not being able to make adjustments during the first leg and more importantly, going into the 2nd leg and trying to play the same way that resulted in a 3-0 loss and Anfield. There is clearly quality in this squad and what is really eye opening is how well the team played back in Jan/Feb with all the kids playing while several senior players were out...Klopp has been a great leader but now time to move to the next phase...

Personally, I think players like Gomez, Jones, Elliot, Tsimikas and Nunez just aren't good enough. Salah is a shadow of his former self and needs to be moved on and Diaz and Gakpo really run hot and cold too often and aren't game changers.

Unpopular opinion, but this downfall is actually on klopp. It’s not exactly his fault but the games moved away from his system, it’s been figured out. The stubbornness with the tactics is driving me crazy. When you fail to create its usually because of the system. Not the individuals. I know we were frustrated last night but the shape of the formation meant the players were rendered almost useless, there was no way through them. I can see why he’s leaving, maybe he knows his style of football isn’t going to work for the foreseeable future. The 3 centre backs with wing backs is dominating currently, with leverkusen smashing it, sporting too. Inter Milan also use a sort of similar system. They are all in first by a decent margin. Girona also deploy a similar style, they should be no where near 3rd in la liga.

This leg we insisted that playing out from the back was fix - however, that's why we were hitting it long in the first leg! People are forgetting that this is a brand new midfield and I think the pundits are correct, we have over achieved this season. At the beginning I would have settled for top 4. But as the season has gone on I have found myself hoping that we would win the league, if we do then fantastic. If not then I still think it's been a good season. The lads are looking tired now and I think understandably so. Some players will leave, including some big ones I think and the new manger will bring some in and here is hoping for a great season under a new manger. Many thanks Mr Klopp you have been Fantastic for Liverpool YNWA!!

sad to see the mentality broken on the business end again. Major decisions for LFC and there has to be a lot of change. Time for new players and as much as we hate to say it, a new coach with fresh ideas. I am Egyptian and it's time to sell Salah, you have to cash in from Salah, Van Dijk and Diaz. Time to think of the future.

I believe Klopp when he says he is exhausted. There was no game plan, the right side of the pitch was evacuated so no switching of play was possible when it is the one good way of dealing with a side like Atalanta. Again and again an again play was fed out to the left wing where Atalanta were waiting in numbers. This is where a good captain can step in and organize play and as you say VVD is not it.

Agree with you, Craig. Looking back at Klopp's tenure I also often ask myself "what could have been". Especially if we take into account how close we got to winning more: two league titles by one point, two UCL finals, even one Europa League final in 2016, and last but not least, last night. In some of these we were hard done by, in others we were simply not good enough or not lucky enough.
As a fan I can't help but feel like we did underachieve, but then again, let's remember where we were before Klopp took over. We were shambolic, nowhere near we are today in terms of quality of the squad. The fanbase had no self-belief at all after a decade of disappointments, and Klopp revitalized us. He transformed this club into a real force once again and set it up for future success. I really think that this will ultimately be his legacy, not the amount of silverware he won, but just how transformative his time was under the surface. It's bittersweet really.
Keep up the great work mate. YNWA

Klopp is out of ideas and Liverpool is too predictable. Teams have worked out how to beat us and if our forwards cannot out score them then we cannot win games. We don’t have creative player that can come up with something special to change a game. When was the last time we played a clever set piece from a corner or free kick. I think the change might be good because Klopp looks like he is done. We will not win the league. We cannot win 2 games in a row let alone the 6 remaining games

The poor line ups the poor subs .
I don't blame him ,his clearly lost all focus and the same can be said for the players.
I say draw a line under the season. Try and win games and see were we are at, then find a manager and re build and shoot me down all you want but I want JOSE MOURINHO
The football we are getting currently is extremely boring I say play boring football and get the results .
Sick of not being able to predict what team turns up.
Atleast under Jose you no we get balance and direction during a football match.

Hello everyone. Well, I don't know where to start. I have expressed my thoughts and opinion in a few videos back. I feel like I have seen this scenario before, it looks to me the same situation when Kopp was at Dortmund. He is nearing his departure and results dose not mean anything to him anymore. He lost his passion and pride. We, the fans have to swallow the pain. We, the supporters to this great club, will remain loyal and passionate. To the managers, they come and go. But for us, we will be here to the last day. I honestly, said, we are not even have any chance of wining the Premiere League title with this performance like. But we are going to cheer and cheer again and again to support our club. YNWA

We’ve been poor for the majority of the season. We played well in a handful of games but if we’re honest we have scraped a lot of results. A lot of games where we just about got over the line but as the season has gone on we’re getting exposed.
Way too easy to play against with oceans of space for opposition to exploit. Our passing game is non existent. Ball retention and build up play is poor. Getting outplayed and outfought. Need to be playing with a much higher tempo. Too predictable, too slow and not compact enough as a team. The most concerning thing is the lack of reaction after the FA Cup defeat.
