    This of course was done in the studio. This particular version was the first time Freddie sang it, he did it in one take, it was his run through, demo, call it what you will. They found the tapes in around 2017, added a refreshed piano track and used footage filmed at the time to create the video.

    • @popepenka8334
      @popepenka8334 Před 4 lety +12

      That’s right! Dave Clark, his mate, asked him to work on this musical he wrote, ‘Time’. Freddie wrote this actual song though (coz he puts his stamp on everything he does). He recorded it in one take. Dave got him to do this video recording session as a dress rehearsal the night before the ‘official’ performance that was in the final production of ‘Time’.
      Dave Clark lost the video recording and over the years would get his assistant to have a look through all the reels of film there was in his storage archive with each visit. Finally in 2017 it was found. Dave then spent a couple of years to match the recording to the video footage and had the piano redone with the original pianist Mike Moran. It’s stunning.

      I have great respect for Freddie
      There's no singer who can do it on one take without starting over again. Their songs are hard up and down all the.

    This was produced and released almost 40 years after Freddie's death. Hence the mismatch between the vocal and the video. They simple overdubbed the new vocal on an old video.
    This is one of two songs (the other is "in my defence" for a musical his friend was writing. This version is made from a recently discovered demo tape of the song Freddie made for his friend. This tape was remastered and the piano added to make this version. So despite it being amazing, Freddie wasn't really trying it was just a do you like this? quick demo in one take

    Every comment you make is a nugget of gold. Thank you and especially for listening to my Idol from the 1970s Freddie Mercury. Have you done any reviews of Aretha Franklin? I loved her voice. Freddie was also a fan of hers. I've recently discovered Roberta Flack too. It would be interesting to know if our own voices naturally fit a certain genre - jazz, gospel, pop, country and western etc., or can we choose? Freddie Mercury certainly could sing any genre, but he was a one off. I listened once to your comparing talent and training. Can you tell if a raw voice fits a certain type of music or is it the choice of the singer? I must look at your website!
    You react so honestly to singers and it was lovely how you spoke about Freddie Mercury. If I was young again I'd love to have trained as a singer and pianist.

    Great reaction as always. Could you please react to Queen My Melancholy Blues live, it is somewhat of a jazz song, I think you might like it. This clip was actually the first take or demo of the song. The song that was eventually released had a lot of overdubs and harmonies, almost like a choir. Dave Clark, who wrote and produced the song always liked the simple, first take, version of the song, but it was lost a few years. He eventually found it and made this video from footage of the original video, by using different camera angles.

    Love him so much. What is interesting about this is that Freddie did not write the song, and it is Mike Moran, not Freddie, on the piano! I haven't seen this video, but it did give me a giggle, because there were two things Fred was bad at: Lip syncing and dancing. There is a great story about this making of this video in George Purvis' book, "Queen: The Complete Works".

    I don't know if you have done a reaction video to "Golden Boy" performed by Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Cabelle. There is a lot of passion in that video and Montserrst is having a lot fun rocking out in her own way. Please consider reacting to it and also Luciano Pavarotti and Brian May singing "Too Much Love Will Kill You." Your reaction videos are incredible. You should be a judge on the Voice. I will support you on Patreon if you tell mw how because I have never done ot before. Please consider my two video requests you won't be disappointed.
