Arson investigators are all armed.My rookie is now a armed investigator.I'm very proud of her.I thought about but am too old to go thru police academy. They aprehend criminals.Not protection as you say for firefighters working at a fire

Fire Marshals are police officers under nys cpl 1.20. They are required to carry all the time on, and off duty.

JOG 365 its been that way they.are called ARMED investigators.Ok civilian ....smh.DCFD has them and they are firefighters who go thru police academy with police powers.They are ARSON investigators.

Bc all fire investigation in nyc are handled by the fire marshall. They are responsible For determining the cause and origin of every fire and if it's deemed to be arson there very responsible for making the arrest.
